Mr Duct Chicagoland

After a remodel, we thought that we should have our ductwork cleaned so I got right on Angie's List where I found Mr. Duct. When I called them I was given a full explanation of their very thorough process. They promptly faxed the copy of their certificate of insurance that I requested. Two technicians arrived at our home on time for the appointment that I booked, and got right to work. We were very pleased with this company's professional and high quality service.

I spoke to the "Manager " Mark, and he basically said this is the industry standard. Call other heating and HVAC firms and you will find the same thing. Will I did, and was able to find a much less expensive tech. I asked Mark if he was willing to retain my business by lowering the profit margin on the part, and he basically told me to go screw. Terrible client service! Never use company. They are a rip off! They assume their clients will not conduct a market analysis, and thus are ignorant. Stay away from this company. One thing note is that this review in no way reflects the technician, only the leadership.

two guys came in and they wore booties without even asking. Great plus point. they were polite as well. got the cleaning done in about 1-2 hours. showed me a video of the vent that was dirty before and after. whew, what a difference. overall it went well. they even got my dryer vent cleaned up for free. thats nice. i do see a difference in dust accumulation on my furniture. its very minimal. thanks for that. overall good job guys. i will go back to them for other services for sure. thanks.

We are very pleased with the service and the work performed. Ernesto was very nice and pleasant to work with and Ernesto and his helper (regretfully didn't catch the name) worked very hard. :) Initially, the duct cleaning service including the dryer vent cleaning was quoted at $401 but while they were cleaning the dryer vent, Ernesto discovered that the dryer vent was not correctly installed and that it wasn't properly venting through the roof so we happily paid additonal $75 for Ernesto to get under the garage roof to fix the vent issue. They arrived on time. Wore booties and explained everything they were going to do. They made sure they didn't make a big mess going about the house and cleaning the vents. They moved furnitures to access the vents and put them back exactly where it was. Took pictures of before and after. After they were done, they left things (access panel, dryer exit hole) better sealed than it was. The appointment process was convinient. Tom on the phone explained everything they were going to do. The price was fair. Overall experience was very pleasant. Thank you, Ernesto!

I sent an email to the company thru Angie's List and received a call within 20 minutes. The individual who called was courteous and professional and had me scheduled for the visit within 20 minutes. When the 2 workmen showed up, they were on time, professional and very nice. They explained exactly what they were doing and showed me camera shots of the inside of my ducts both before and after the cleaning. I have lived in my building for 15 years and had never had them cleaned before. I really feel I got great service for what I paid. I would definitely recommend them to other neighbors in my building as well as friends.

They were professional, answered questions, and were thorough. They actually came out same day I called. Feel confident that my ducts are as good as they could get.

Technicians arrived on time (Actually a little early, which was great!), were professional and answered all of my questions about what they were doing. AC/Furnace ducts were all vacuumed out, as were a number of the unit components. Everything seemed to be done well, and they do show a before and after video image to show that debris has actually been removed from the ducts. It would be nice to be able to see an image farther in to the ducts, but everything was done quickly and professionally. My only concern was that it seemed a little bit expensive for what was ultimately only an hour and a half of work, but there were two people working. Overall, I was satisfied with the work performed.

They did a standard job with the duct cleaning. However- they disconnected a wire to the furnace, so A\C was not functioning. They came back immediately to fix the problem. Unfortunately, they did not secure the door of the furnace well, so a month later, the safety switch shut the system off. They came back, even though they could have claimed a lot of time had passed and/or intervening factors may have caused the problem. They secured the door and did not charge for the return trip.

I contacted Mr. Duct through Angie's List for an estimate. After I signed off my computer, the office called me in less than 5 minutes. The gentleman gave me an estimate and made an appointment for the same day...in three hours. Their office called 30 minutes before the technicians arrived to say they would be there within 30 minutes. The technicians were on time, did the work they were supposed to do with no extra selling, took the amount of time that was estimated, didn't make a mess, and wore shoe booties in the house. The technicians were very professional, personable and polite. I am very pleased with the service I received from Mr. Duct and would definitely use them again.

When they returned to remove the flexible foil ducts and install new. plastic venting ducts, the guys from Mr. Duct arrived exactly on time, were super courteous and professional, told us exactly what they were going to do, and checked in with us along the way (even showing us the bird's nest[!?] near the vent flap to our outside wall). It really was an ideal experience: they did the work efficiently, but took the necessary time; they were very careful to remove anything from our laundry closet that would get in their way and then to put it back carefully when they were finished. And they did a great job! We could not be more impressed.

I appreciated the same day visit for duct cleaning. I further appreciated the trip being complimentary since there were unanticipated issues that prohibited them from completing the work. I will review the estimate and likely give them the opportunity to do the necessary job.

There were two people that arrived and assessed the problem quickly, provided our options, and were very courteous. The dryer tubing was disconnected in our wall and upon removal a bird's nest was found lodged in there. No air had been getting through and outside to the vent resulting in multiple dry cycles and improper air flow (a very hazardous situation). They replaced everything and talked us through the steps during the entire process. The price was at the top end of the range that had been provided, however, another company we had originally scheduled to come was a complete no-show, no-call. Mr. Duct made every effort to get someone out the same day we called and put our minds at ease. Great service!

The crew showed up on time. Soon a hellacious racket developed and exhaust fumes began entering the house. They had put their vacuum engine too close to the house; when it was moved the problem abated. The whole process was terrily noisy, not that we should not have expected that--but despite my asking what we should prepare for when I ordered the service, we were not gven any advance notice of just how the work would proceed. The crew seemed to work efficiently and clearly knew what they were doing. They cleaned up well after doing the work.

The technician arrived as promised and completed work in a timely manner. The technician was courteous and professional and explained everything to me in detail. I will definitely use Mr. Duct in the future and highly recommend them to family and friends.

My house was particularly challenging because the ducts do not go out, like most do, they go up to the roof. They were here for 6 hours, determined to do the work properly and completly, and refused to take any extra pay.

I emailed a quote request around midnight Wednesday night, someone called me early Thursday morning, and we made an appointment for the following day. (A great beginning, as I had been stood up twice by another company who never even called to explain why they didn't show up!). The day the work was performed, two very nice, neat, clean young men showed up on time and did their thing. I was working upstairs in my office throughout the process - which took less than three hours. There was some noise involved, but I was expecting that. There was no debris or dust flying around. No chaos whatsoever. They were meticulous and left the house as neat as they found it, with no damage or marks to window frames, etc. Compared to what other companies charged for similar services (as reported in various Angie's List reviews) I think the price I paid was really good. I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Mr. Duct Heating and Air Conditioning for duct cleaning. I'm in the market for a new HVAC company to keep my system running smoothly. If they do that kind of work I'll definitely hire them!

I moved into a new house and the new dryer I bought wasn't working. I called Mr. Duct and they had 2 guys out same day which was excellent. They quickly fixed the problem and my dryer began working. Excellent service and quality.

Came out, performed check, advised on health of AC unit, and left. Perfect scenario.

..It went vey well. They are the best in the business. They showed us where the problems were and suggested what we should do to help elevate the problem in the future. They showed us that the hose going from the machine to the wall was too long and made of plastic which is a fire hazard and also installed a bird guard on the outside of the house which is up towards the roof on a 2nd story house. This bird guard will keep the birds from getting in and building their nests in the vent and it is made in a way that the air flow is not blocked. I think this is the best company and very fair in pricing. I would never call anyone else now.

couldn't be happier with the service ! Staff on both phone and at location were amazing and very knowledgable . I booked these as reviews were good and my neighbour had also used them and was very happy with the service. No hidden up-seling ... just honest and well executed work . I would have no hessitation in recommending this company !!!!

On April 10, 2013, I have called Larry at the Lisle location. I have checked out the YouTube videos that he has told me to check out. Pretty much letting me know that they wont cheat me in the business of cleaning my vents, so I decided to go with Mr. Duct because they seemed legit. Larry had 2 of his guys over right away. Larry said that it would take 2-3 hours for the guys to clean the vents. After explaining to Larry that I need my dryer vents to be cleaned out. As there is no heat coming through to dry my clothes. He said that they would do that & that it is included in the price. The guys came with in the hour. I had to lock up my puppy as they were bringing in their equipment. The one guy, Mario told me that he has to make an access panel so that he can get all the dust out, and he showed me where this was going to be done (Duct for Furnace). They ended up cleaning and it took them 1 hour to clean my whole house.(I live in a small townhouse.) My stairs were really dusty, and dirty. Some of the vents still had dust on them and I had to clean the dust and debris that was left from them. A month later, I still have dust flying around. So I called my dad and brother and they were able to come over to check out the problem. The problem was is that they didn't clean out the dryer vent. It still had water and a lot of lint stuck in the vent. My dad told me they didn't even do anything up here. My brother had installed a new aluminum vent for the dryer. Since my dad and brother came over to fix my dryer vent and clean it out. My dryer works a lot better. I should have just waited for my dad & brother to come over. I know they wouldn't have charged me $400. For $400.00, the Company could have done a way better job. I would not recommend Mr. Duct Heating and Cooling to anyone. I have emailed the Customer Service and told them my situation. They did not do anything about it. I received an email back with a reply that they can clean my AC unit. First off, you didn't clean out my vents but charged me $400 for it. Now you want to clean out AC unit? No Way!! I would not waste any time or money with these guys again.

I have used Mr. Duct twice in the past few months. Recently, they performed a seasonal tune up on my A/C's and trouble-shooted a problem I had with one of my units not blowing out cold air. The technician determined that the unit was very low on freon and thus probably had a leak somewhere. I made an appointment a week later for Mr. Duct to come back out and search for the leak source, and then fix it (the outside temp needed to be above 65 degrees). They were able to come out the day after I called, found the problem which was fortunately an easy fix, and fixed it. A/C's are working fine now. Mr. Duct was very responsive and was able to come out quickly, sometimes the next day. They also were flexible time-wise, based on my schedule. I felt that all their employees were very knowledgeable regarding the tasks. I also used Mr. Duct over the winter to clean out my ducts in the house, and to clean out my dryer vent line. They did a fine job, and their technicians were friendly. I think their price was very competitive too. I plan to use Mr. Duct in the future.

We were very satisfied with the air duct cleaning provided to us by Mr. Duct. They did a thorough job, and showed us the difference between the ducts before and after cleaning. Moving into a new house, we decided to err on the side of caution and get the ducts cleaned right away. We felt that we were breathing easier afterwards. We would use Mr. Duct again.
