Mark is a genius. His work is impeccable. Everything was neat, tight and tidy. Both our doors now close with an airtight seal, no leaks, no drafts. Beautiful work, he has much to be proud of. He was on time and stood by his estimate. This was money well spent.

Mark was easy to work with and it was very convenient that he could pick up the doors we ordered at Menards and install them later. The doors look great.

Mark provided us with estimates for his work and coordinated the purchase of the doors through another company. While a little quirky it was very painless and left us in complete control of the process. We ran comparisons with "door companies" and not only was Mark and the overall cost of the doors cheaper, it was nice to deal with a Door Geek who clearly knew his stuff and was very passionate about what he does. Mark went above and beyond when Menards screwed up on the door handles/locks and he personally went over to the store and fixed the issues. We were very grateful. The doors are great and we are very happy with them. The whole process was easy for us. A lovely experience! Mark responded to our request for an appraisal within days. Our door was an unconventional size, so he connected us to Standard Lumber, who fabricated a door appropriate to the style of our house. We ordered a storm door from Menard's, also made to order. Mark collected both orders and came ready to install, on an agreed-upon date a few weeks after our order. His work was neat and conscientious, with great attention to details. He was careful to give us instructions on how to operate the door locks and storm door mechanisms. Along the way, Mark fixed the doorbell too! The front entrance looks quite elegant! Mark also fixed a problematic wood patio door that had fallen out of alignment with changes in humidity over the years and would not close properly. Mark contrived a solution that maintained the integrity of how the two doors fit together and fit into the jamb. We've a 60-year-old house and love its quaintnesses, and when an old piece can be rejuvenated, we're delighted.

Mark was punctual and very personable. He completed the installation and did a fantastic job of cleaning up. He even took the packaging materials for the new door as well as the old door and frame with him when he left. Our new door is hung straight and closes and seals perfectly. I would definitely use Mark again.

Mark is extremely courteous and professional. I had been told by handymen and other carpenters that my closet door was a very difficult job and some of them even refused to do them. Mark came and gave me a flat price for the install and the cost of the doors. He installed them within 2 hours and then left with a very professional job. He even left the entire area cleaned! I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a door install job.

It went very well and he is great. He is coming to my home this coming Saturday. It was really good and I give him a very positive rating.

MG Door Installations was the most professional vendor that we have ever used. He was prompt, professional and did amazing work. You can tell that he takes pride in his work. He helped us select the type of doors that we needed and gave us different price options. The doors both look fantastic! We would highly recommend!

Mark was very professional, courteous and generous with his time, explaining my options. He encouraged me to spend a couple extra bucks on a six-panel window for the door, rather than the cheapest option available. It matches the house much better than my original choice and, so, for a few more bucks, it looks like it belongs to the house rather than being an add-on. I am very pleased. He also explained the choices for door handles/locks (brand, model and features) and, again, I spent another $35 for the better option. Again, in the end, it was a wise choice. When the door was delivered, I could swear it was Mark doing the work. However, the work looks like it was done by Norm Abrams. The detail work is exceptional and Mark actually took extra time to reuse some lumber. Because of this, he reduced the bill by a hundred dollars because he didn't use the new lumber he thought he would need. He replaced the weather stripping on our existing storm/screen door. Even a couple years later, the doors open and close smoothly with no problems. The additional insulation and tight weather-stripping has eliminated the drafts we used to get at the front door. I was in no hurry to add my review because all the ones already posted have been extremely positive. What's another one? However, I am finally catching up on my homework and I highly recommend this vendor. I wish everything in my house was put together with the same care and quality as Mark's work on our door. But then, I'd have nothing about which to complain!

They have been great. they had the most positive of reviews on Angies List. I would highly recommend them. The installer is Mark Gilberts. He's reliable. He is thorough and detailed. You want someone to take the time to do the repairs that will last. It was a fair price for the amount of work they did.

MG door installations is possible the best service provider we have ever used. We have had three storm doors installed by Mark over the years. It could not be easier. His fee is very reasonable. People are always surprised when I mention his rates. For each of the storm doors, the routine is the same, he measures, goes over some different models with you, you go look at the door in person at menards, pay for it, then he picks it up and installs it. Because our family is so h****** doors, mark installed an extra chain mechanism to fortify the door. No extra charge. He even noticed that another provider had installed the handle on our inside door upside down, so he took that off and fixed it. No extra charge. At the end of the installation he explains some of the features of the door, which sounds wacky, but there were actually a couple of things I didn't know, that will help us prolong the life of the storm door and the inner door as we'll. he also installed a door for my mom in the past and she loved him too. I wish we could clone him and make one clone a plumber, one an electrician, and so on. Mark Gilbertson IS doors!

It was excellent. He has an experience of what he did and he was clean. He came for a measurement so the door was cross-conscious.

Mark came out 24 hours after I called him and showed my wife and I the different options for entry doors and storm doors. When I inquired on different types of doors that other installers had recommended he went into detailed discussion of why they would not be good options from both a security perspective and also usability / weather resistance. Mark was done with the job in a single day, picked up my storm door from Menards and cleaned up after he was done. Neighbors have been commenting how much they like how the door looks. I would highly recommend Mark to others.

Mark was great. He so clearly puts the customer first, partly in terms of managing costs and mostly in terms of meeting our requirements. He was diligent, honest, responsive and responsible. I was very impressed and pleased and would happily recommend him to others!

Mark Gilbertson was great to work with. He responded to our request for an estimate promptly. He gave us a rough estimate of cost and time over the phone and then came out to measure the doors. He recommended a lumberyard, although was fine with us purchasing the doors anywhere we liked. He picked up the doors for us and cut them to the right height before bringing them to our home. Mark was prompt, protected our carpet and other furnishing. He worked efficiently, installing the door knobs, hanging the doors and making sure there were no gaps or other problems. We are very happy with the work and are planning to have him back to replace other doors. He was both personable and professional.

Mark is very professional, responsive, and patient. Our home needed a new door. I had to special order the door and Mark had to do extra work due to my original door being bricked into my home. Mark came out on one of the coldest days of the winter season to install the door. I could not get another day off work to reschedule. Mark remained professional and completed the door install. We are very happy with his work and already have him schedule for other installs later in the year. I will recommend MG Door Installations LL and Mark to all of my friends and family. Installation of all doors went VERY well. I never knew how poorly the prior doors were installed until I saw the finished work by Mark Gilbertson. He essentially repaired botched work done by whoever installed the doors I was replacing. Very professional. Conscientious - took care of house exterior and interior. I initially thought his price was high. But now that I have seen his work... definitely NOT too high. Would seek him again for any door installation (front door, back door, interior door).

Had to shave all the doors because out of plumb door jams, to long where it would drag on carpet when opened. had all the right equipment for hinge installation and door handle holes. Took him the better part of a day. If you want a door(s) installed I can't think of a better person. He also shaved part of the front door (condo) to it wouldn't stick. Good guy! Going to use him again to install closet doors.

Super work! We could not pick up the doors ourselves due to small car. Installer picked up the doors from Menards and installed them bot;h in less than two hours. He also took the old, very heavy, doors to our garage for disposal.

I called Mark Gilbertson of MG Doors on Dec. 6, 1013. He had installed two exterior doors and two storm doors for us in July, 2012. The back storm door handle had fallen off last week. We had all of the parts. Mark said he was really busy because everybody wanted new doors now that the coldness of winter had really set in. But he said he'd come out on Monday, 12/9/2013 and fix the door handle at 3 p.m. Which is exactly what he did. The handle worked perfectly when I got home. I called him and asked how much I owed him. He said you don't owe me anything. I said I'd write a nice review on Angie's List. He said that would be great. Mark is a true professional and an outstanding door installer. He providers greatt follow-up service to boot. We are very happy now that we don't have to use the temporary duct tape door handle to open the screen door!!!

Did a very good, thorough job. Straightened out the front door, and the other doors actually lock smoothly now.

We live in a 40 yr old townhome that came with clunky metal bifold doors, the kind that rattle in the track and fall on your head at random. We had already scrapped the old metal doors, but now need wood replacements. We weren't sure who would handle interior doors and happened upon MG Door while trolling Angie's list. We were glad to see that MG specialized in residential doors and had stellar reviews. It was straightforward to set up an appointment with Mark's office assistant, who coordinated the rest of the project. We were pleased that Mark made careful measurements of all 8 door openings and gave us a written quote, complete with the exact door sizes needed, that day. Unfortunately, as he informed us, all of our closet door opening were non-standard in size. In fact, they did not even match each other! Despite this unexpected news, we decided to hire Mark on the spot because he was professional and honest, yet mindful of cost. We brought his quote to Menards to order custom-sized, unfinished oak veneer bifold doors based on his measurements. Once the doors arrived, Mark and his assistant picked up the doors and complete the installation in about 6 hours. We were pleased to see that the doors fit well and hung perfectly plumb despite our off-size door frames. Now, several months later, the doors still match and close correctly, despite the change from summer humidity to winter dryness. Note that we ended up finishing the doors ourselves since Mark doesn't paint or stain, as he had previous advised us. We decided to stain and seal the doors ourselves, but this isn't for everybody. It's tons of work and difficult to get a smooth finish. In retrospect, we recommend power sanding the doors with a finishing sander so that the stain is more uniform. The sealing takes 3-4 coats and can be difficult to flow on smoothly; we suggest practicing application methods on the door backs. Factory pre-finished doors would have been nice, but unfortunately they were not available in the custom sizes we needed.
