Mark is one of the best craftsman that has ever worked at our house. He measured door openings and advised us on different models and where to buy them. He picked up all the doors and provided all related framing materials and stored them at his facility until installation day. Mark is very courteous, keeps you informed of schedules, shows up on time and keeps a very neat worksite. He even cut our old doors in half to ease disposal and bagged all waste for garbage pickup. Mark charges a flat fee for each door installed and does all the little extras that make for a perfect installation. No quibbles, no hidden charges; just a superb job! If you need doors (there are some he doesn't install) you will be doing yourself a favor to contact Mark.

All went well. Had to change installation day once, but no problem. Very happy with work and ability to communicate with him when necessary.

Mark is absolutely wonderful! He is knowledgeable, patient, conscientious, polite and does excellent work. He patiently answered all of our questions and returned all of our calls. He stuck with our job despite the difficulties of dealing with an irregular size door and a delay in the estimate from the door company. He conscientiously returned to our house a second time, and removed the door trim to make sure that the size was correct before we placed the order for a custom sized door. Mark did a wonderful job of installation, and even added a new doorbell! We now have a gorgeous oak entry door, thanks to Mark!

Mark called ahead several times to make sure we received our door and that everything was ready to go before the installation. He was very polite and cheerful. I felt that the job was reasonably priced.

Mark was pleasant to deal with and was very responsive to my questions. He called to remind us the day before each appointment and explained what work needed to be done to complete the job. Would definately hire him for future work.

I called Mark regarding installing 7 doors in my apartment building on the near South Side. He was rude and dismissive. He stated that he did not travel that far, but in the same sentence, he stated he is working in Shamberg all week. It must be nice to be able to turn down a big job. Could it be the neighborhood, or the people in the neighborhood??

Mark Gilbertson was phenomenal in all aspects of the job - from great customer service to quality of workmanship. I don't think I've ever worked with a more professional, courteous or responsive service person. If you need any door-related work done, Mark is your man.

He was remarkable, a wonderful person. When I called him, he would give me advice, no matter how ridiculous the question. He picked the doors up, put them in, and did a wonderful job. I can't say enough about him, he was marvelous. I would recommend him to anyone. He was there at the time he said he'd be there, and he squeezed me into his schedule to get my doors done faster. He told me it would take a certain amount of time, and it did exactly. He cleaned up after himself and he was very thorough.

Mark Gilbertson is the most professional and efficient of all the contractors I have used in years. He not only helped in the selection of the storm doors used, giving several excellent options, he gave me contact information at Menards to purchase them (on sale), picked them up from Menards for us, stored them at his place of business for a few days until our install date, installed them beautifully and professionally and then did something I had not expected, he educated each of the condominium unit's residents in the proper use, storage and adjustment of these doors. Being the president of the condominium association, I hear ALL the comments (good and bad) about everything that happens at our building, and I have heard praise on top of praise for Mark and his company. Please do yourselves a favor and hire him to take care of your door needs.

I can't really say enough good things about my experience of door fittings with Mark Gilbertson. He is extremely polite, professional, hard working and an expert in his field of work. His work was first class and I am delighted. He returns calls, turns up on time, explains the project in detail, gets on quietly with the job, cleans up after himself and is meticulous to detail. In addition to this he is very respectful of property and caring and thoughtful to the animals in the house.

Mark was very professional on all counts. He was on time for his estimate and each of the two days he spent doing the installation. All work was completed to my complete satisfaction and he cleaned the premises well when his work was finished. I highly recommend Mark and will use him again this spring to install new storm doors.

Mark was great to work with from the initial phone call all the way through. He was punctual, polite, and extremely helpful. He steered me to a less expensive storm door of equal or superior quality to the one I had been thinking about ordering. He fit the doors meticulously and was friendly and professional. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with him, including the fact that he charged a very reasonable amount of $120.00 per door for installation, including pickup and delivery of the door.

Mark was most pleasant to work with. He returned our initial call promptly. He worked with us to set a schedule for the installation of the door (our schedule was not very open in December 2005). On the day of installation, he arrived on time, and worked quickly and efficiently to get the old door out and the new door in. He cleaned up the area (inside and outside)before leaving. Cutting up the old door and trim was an added bonus that we really appreciated.

Mark was very polite, professional, on time, cleaned up and disposed of trash, and did an excellent job. He picked up the storm doors from the hardware store, and installed them as scheduled on one of the coldest days we've had this winter. I would highly recommend him.

MARK WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. BUT, I DO HAVE A CONCERN. I WAS TOLD THAT MY DOOR IS ''NOT NORMAL SIZE'' AND HE REFERRED ME TO A LOCAL DOOR COMPANY TO ORDER A DOOR. THIS COMPANY HAS SOME BEAUTIFUL DOORS, BUT THEY ARE IN THE $1000 TO $1200 PRICE RANGE! WITH HIS LABOR COSTS ($450), IT WOULD RUN MY TOTAL BILL TO $1400 TO $1600. LATER I WAS TOLD BY ANOTHER DOOR MAN THAT I COULD GET A QUALITY DOOR AT A MAJOR HOME IMPROVEMENT CENTER FOR $400 TO $600, AND THAT MY DOOR WAS A STANDARD SIZE. I WANT A NICE DOOR, GRANTED, BUT I DON'T WISH TO PAY SUCH A HIGH PRICE. SO, I AM UNSURE HOW TO PROCEED AT THIS POINT.

THE AMOUNT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE AMOUNT I PAID FOR THE DOORS, BUT MARK WAS EXCELLENT. HE DID QUALITY WORK AND CLEANED UP THE AREA WHEN DONE. CAN'T ASK FOR ANY MORE THAN THIS. I WOULD CERTAINLY USE HIM AGAIN, AND PROBABLY WILL FOR ANOTHER PROJECT NEXT YEAR.

MARK DID EXCELLENT WORK. WAS PRO-ACTIVE IN CONTACTING THE STORE WHERE WE PURCHASED THE DOOR TO ESTABLISH IN-STOCK DATE BEFORE CONFIRMING INSTALL DATE. HE REBUILT THE DOOR FRAME, AS WELL. HE WORKED QUICKLY & EFFICIENTLY & WAS COMPLETELY PROFESSIONAL. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

EXCELLENT WORK, CAME TO ALIGN DOORS. FOUND THAT THE DOORS NEEDED MORE WORK AND I HAD HIM FIX THEM. HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS SINCE.

SPOKE BY PHONE WITH MARK TWO TIMES ABOUT SELECTION/INSTALLATION OF ENTRY DOOR SYSTEM. VERY WILLING TO INFORM US ABOUT DIFFERENT TYPES OF DOORS, ETC. PRICE QUOTED TO INSTALL DOOR WE SELECTED AT A HOME IMPROVEMENT STORE WAS VERY REASONABLE. ALSO, IF WE CHOOSE SOMETHING ELSE THROUGH HIS RECOMMENDED COMPANY, THE PRICE WAS VERY COMPARABLE TO OTHER PROVIDERS. WE HAD AN UNFORTUNATE INSTANCE OF LOSING MY SPOUSE'S INCOME WITHIN A DAY OF OUR LAST CONVERSATION, AND DECIDED TO WAIT UNTIL THINGS SMOOTH OUT A BIT. FROM THE TELEPHONE CONVERSATIONS I HAD WITH HIM, I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL TO HAVE WORK DONE BY HIM WHEN TIME IS RIGHT.

UPON MY INITIAL CALL TO MARK TO INQUIRE ABOUT HIS SERVICES HE CALLED BACK PROMPTLY. HE WAS INFORMATIVE, POLITE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. MARK WAS VERY FLEXIBLE WHEN IT CAME TO SCHEDULING THE WORK TO BE DONE.

MARK WAS VERY NICE, AND DID A VERY GOOD JOB. FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE I BOUGHT THE HOUSE, ALL THE DOORS CLOSE PROPERLY. WE SHOULD HAVE CALLED MARK A LONG TIME AGO! THE SCREEN DOORS ARE VERY NICE TOO. I LOVED HIS RESPONSIVENESS, THE PRICE WAS RIGHT, AND THE WORK VERY THOROUGH.

MARK WAS VERY COURTEOUS,(I.E. RETURNING CALLS PROMPTLY, ARRIVING ON TIME AND TAKING CARE OF SPECIAL ORDER) HARD WORKING,(I.E. NEVER SAW HIM TAKE A BREAK, ACTUALLY WHISTLES WHILE HE WORKS AND NEVER SHOWED ANY STRESS ON THE DIFFICULT AREAS OF DOOR.), PROFESSIONAL AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. GREAT FIRST EXPERIENCE.

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, CONSCIENTIOUS, FAIRLY PRICED AND VERY ACCOMMODATING. FRIENDLY, KIND AND EASY TO BE AROUND. GOES THE EXTRA MILE.

MARK WAS VERY PROMPT AT RETURNING PHONE CALLS, AND WAS VERY UPFRONT ABOUT WHAT WE NEEDED AND WHAT WE WERE GOING TO HAVE TO PAY. WE WOULD USE HIM AGAIN TO REPLACE OTHER DOORS IN OUR HOUSE.

HE WAS PROFESSIONAL, ARRIVED ON TIME, AND WAS VERY PLEASANT TO DEAL WITH. EXCELLENT WORK. LOOKS GREAT. CLEANED UP NICELY PLUS CUT DOOR IN HALF AND HAULED EVERYTHING TO THE CURB FOR PICKUP. I AM THINKING OF CALLING AGAIN FOR SOME INSIDE DOOR INSTALLATION.
