He was very thorough and getting an appointment was easy. His price came in line with others I received. While I still haven't made the decision to move forward with the remodel, I would definitely recommend this business to others in need of some remodeling.

The condo association has wanted a new front door to the building for some time. Since we have used JV Carpentry in the past, we requested that an estimate be completed for replacing the door. The owner, Jose, has made a number of repairs to this door in the past so he was aware of our issues. He provided several options for the type of door we could choose from and once a decision was made, placed the order with the vendor (our door was not a standard size so custom door had to be ordered). When the door was ready, Jose picked it up and had his crew installed immediately. When the intercom buzzer would not work, Jose spent the time to determine that the mechanism was broken and went to Home Depot right away to purchase a new one. He also ensure that the replaced trim was painted properly and that the door and surrounding area looked good. Overall, the door looks great and all of the owners are pleased with the finished product.

I have used JV Carpentry over the past several months to prepare my condo for sale and then to address comments from buyers' inspection report. They have done simple things like sanding down doors to replacing faucets to tearing out and replacing drywall. The owner, Jose provides fair estimates for his work prior to beginning and personally does a lot of the work himself. He is very detail oriented and ensures that his crew pays attention to details as well; he will not say a task is completed until he is satisfied that something works properly or looks good. One of the tasks that started as a simple repair of some water damaged drywall turned into a much larger job since Jose found wet insulation and some rotted studs. He immediately called me over to look at the damage before going forward and gave me options. He ended up having to remove about a 12 inch wide section from ceiling to floor. He explained everything he was doing to me in a way I could understand. In addition, since my unit is the top floor, there was concern that water seeped down to the 2nd and 1st floors so I asked Jose if he would look at the other units. After obtaining permission from the respective owners, Jose inspected the walls and found that luckily the water went no further. As I indicated, Jose and his crew completed a number of repair tasks and all work was done beautifully. In addition, Jose himself offered to be present during a mold inspection and a roof inspection that were requested by the buyers to help me understand what might be recommended. He did not have to do this but understood that it would give me piece of mind to have someone here whom I trusted. Overall, I would hire Jose to do anything in my home; if it was something he could not do, I know he would be able to recommend someone who would do a good job.

The owner, Jose, personally reviewed the work being requested and added some recommendations of this own. He assured us the new slabs will be set properly including pitching so that water would run away from the foundation. The quote he provided was competitive with other quotes we received. Since we have had good experiences with Jose in the past, we selected him to do the work. The crew he brought to do the work were excellent....they were detail oriented and it was clear that they took pride in their work. Jose stopped by to review work while it was progressing to ensure everything was being done properly. The concrete looks beautiful and all the owners are pleased with how it turned out.

Jose is pleasant to deal with, and gets the job done when he says he will.
