Description of Work: Repaired and replaced a kitchen exhaust fan. He was very professional and knowledgeable & took the time to find a replacement fan which was very old. The repair was made with the least amount of hassle for me which I greatly appreciated. Liked the communication by email as we did not have to deal with missed phone calls. Would definitely use again.

Description of Work: Our 1974 mid-century home has underground 400 amp electrical service which feeds into the basement. Even before we purchased the home in 2004, water had been coming into the underground conduit and then into the cabinet with the electrical service. Holes had been drilled into the bottom of the cabinet to drain the water from rain & irrigation. The cabinet was very rusty & even though we were not subsequently electrocuted, we had already had to replace to the main fuse box & breakers. I contacted Joe who came out the next day. He showed up on time & assessed the rusty cabinet realizing he did need to coordinate with the Village utility service. A larger grounding wire was also needed. Joe always kept me in the loop while getting the necessary information to provide me with a bid on the work. I did contact two additional electricians for the job but Joe had the best response & a competitive thorough bid. We also had Joe replace & update wall switches where needed and repair our outside light fixtures. We were without power for 1/2 a day and the complete job took almost 3 days. Joe & his assistant were always on-time & broom cleaned at the end of the day. I highly recommend JF Industries for any size electrical job.

 + -1 moreThe guy was on time and courteous, and he promptly supplied a PDF file with the estimate. The price seemed reasonable but I want to get some other estimates first. If his is competitive, I will probably go with him because he seemed like a nice guy. So far, I have no complaints. He was a good listener which is nice because we have a job with a couple tasks. He contacted me within about 12 hours of when I emailed him and he made the appointment quickly.

 + -1 moreHe was able to fix the problem and was very reasonable. He was extremely professional and arrived on time. He is licensed, bonded and insured. If needed, we would absolutely hire him again. I was very impressed with him.
Description of Work: We were having some intermittent power in our kitchen. Our appliances were dimming and waning, going on and off. He removed our electrical panel and got behind it. He found out that there had been a small fire and was able to save us from a very dangerous situation.

 + 1 moreThis was the best experience I've ever had with an electrician. Joe responded immediately to my initial inquiry and came out quickly to see what the project would involve. Within a few days, he emailed a DETAILED proposal with pictures and information sheets on the components he would be using. The proposal included a solution for every single problem I had showed him. We communicated easily via email, arranged the schedule, and they arrived and began at exactly the time Joe specified. He had 2 excellent men working with him. They were the most pleasant and agreeable team I've ever had in my house. They worked easily around us and our animals. They cleaned up everything every day and put everything back in place. They literally checked the function of every single outlet and mapped every one to a circuit in the box. They showed us how to operate the generator switch and outdoor outlet. It was a great experience and my money was well spent. The city inspector told me: "In case you don't realize it, this is a top-flight job." Even the furnace repairman commented on the quality of the work. In sum, Joe is an absolute professional. He is a problem solver who listens to you carefully and comes up with great solutions that I didn't even know were possible. He communicates easily and well. He stays in touch. He is detailed oriented, something I find very comforting in an electrician. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Joe to anyone I know. It couldn't have been a better experience. I am very pleased.
Description of Work: They installed 200A service with a whole house surge protector, and added a manual transfer generator panel for a portable generator. Our generator can now be plugged into a special socket on the outside of the house, eliminating the need to run long extension cords. They fixed or replaced several problem lights, added a new 20A circuit, and installed a booster fan for the dryer which has a very long run through a crawl space. They also replaced 6 cable lines and a CAT5e network cable, added a GFI outlet outside, and a new gas valve under the cooktop.
