Great service from start to finish. Goldstream answered the phone every time, was available same day, showed up promptly as scheduled. The work to install a chandelier and repair some electrical cords was done quickly and he was polite throughout. I thought the price was reasonable. We have a Victorian home and I also appreciate that they have expertise particularly with vintage electrics. A lot can go wrong with those unfamiliar . . . I will definitely use Goldstream again.

Matt arrived 10 minutes early, tarped and covered the floors and furniture. He was incredibly neat and clean, leaving the floors cleaner than the way he found them. He and his partner worked at a steady pace. The Job went much better than I thought, with no damage to the original plaster. When the scope of the project changed once he arrived, he charged only the extra time for the other two projects and kept to his original bid, even though it took longer than anticipated. I was very happy with Matt and Richard.

Matt, did a very professional job on the work we requested. He came on a Saturday and did all the work very quickly and professionally. In 2 hours, Matt, changed 3 outdoor lights, fixed 3 broken outlets and provided an estimate for future work. I would definitely use Matt again and refer him out to friends and family.

I called him on Tuesday originally he was able to come that afternoon, which was greatly appreciated. I had called another local electrician who was booked for three weeks. The original service call was, i believe, 150 bucks (+ materials), which isn't bargain basement, but given that he came out the day I called him and did a good job, I'm totally fine with it. I asked him about the feasibility/cost of having an outlet added on the house that could be controlled by a switch inside (for ease with christmas lights, etc.). he explained the possibilities thoroughly and gave me a price which he stuck to and actually came in under (the total for the project was 355). He offered to come on Saturday because he would be in our town doing a different project. He came, did the work, and everything works perfectly. He and his partner were very professional and more than willing to explain anything and everything.

Matt was awesome! He responded promptly, was very punctual, and explained everything that needed to be done very well! I highly reccomend him and would for sure use him again.

I have used Matt on two occasions. He works hard to get you scheduled asap and does a fantastic job. Great work, cleans up, and works to code. Will use him again in the future.

First of all Matt with Goldstream Electric Services is absolutely fantastic. I refer him to everyone I know that is looking for an electrician. I first used Matt 5 years ago when I gutted my Lincoln Park condo to the studs and he rewired the entire condo and I've not had a single problem. Over the years, I've had him do other odd jobs as they've come up. I could not be happier with how well this job turned out! Both TV's were excellently mounted: perfectly level and extremely secure. He did a great job adding the electric outlets and snaking the wires--there was no drywall or paint fixes needed, they were added so nicely that they look like they've been there the entire time not just 24 hours. Why I always use Matt for any electrical jobs I have: 1. Excellent Quality. Matt takes the time to do the job right every time. He listens to what you want done and brings up considerations that you likely didn't think through but are very glad he did. On this job, he helped me think through where the electric outlets should go in the closet and determined the right height to place both the outlets and the HDMI cable making sure that they were put at a height where the cable box would allow my wife's dresses to hang without resting on the cable box. For the TV placements, I was just going to eyeball them but Matt recommended that we mount the TV in the 2nd bedroom so that it's top was level with the trim and I can say it looks great. For the fireplace, he helped me pick a height that doesn't strain my neck and maximizes the exposed brick of the fireplace 2. He is very friendly and extremely honest 3. He shows up on time and as promised: He arrived promptly for this job as always. 4. He respects your home. Both he and his partner used disposable covers over their boots so that they didn't track in any mud. I didn't ask him to do this, they did it automatically after entering. They also put drop cloths down wherever they worked to protect my floors and brought their own vacuum and cleaned up any dust associated with the job. It's spotless. I highly recommend using Goldstream Electric Services for any job. Thanks Matt!

Matt responded to my email request for an estimate very quickly. His estimate of the work needed was fair and reasonable. Matt showed up on time and started right away. During repairs, he discovered that the main breaker he hoped to reuse was damaged. He and Rick were able to find a replacement part (not an easy task since the part is no longer manufactured) and finish the work with minimal delay. They were clean, courteous and professional. We plan on getting electrical work done in the basement in the future. Goldstream Electrical will be the first contractor I call.

Matt and his team were wonderful. From the first phone contact to the final paperwork, Matt was very professional and personable. Matt was very prompt in all communications and clearly outlined all the work he would perform. During the project, Matt and his team were on time in the morning. They worked quickly and cleaned up after the job was done. Matt is very knowledgeable about his craft and guided us in the best decisions to make our home safe while being mindful of our budget. I would use Goldstream Electric again without a second thought.

Matt was easy to reach by cell phone and provided many options for a quick appointment. He showed up on time and with all necessary equipment. We spoke about the job and he outlined what he was going to do and his initial thoughts on what the issue was with our ceiling fan. He took the fan apart to determine what the issue was and then went over the options with me - thoroughly explaining the details and implications of each option. I decided to replace the fan and had a new one on hand and asked him to install it. He dismantled the old fan and very neatly packed it into the box of the new one so it was easy to move out of the room. Matt then installed the new fan and programmed the remote and made sure it didn't interfere with other fans in the house. He showed me how to work the fan and cleaned up - no mess! I would 110% recommend Matt for electrical services and plan on using him for any future needs. Price was very very reasonable. No issues with the cost.

Everything was wonderful from beginning to end. Matt responded promptly to my phone call asking for an estimate, immediately came to our house to see what the job entailed and sent a written proposal within a couple of days. Matt and Rick arrived on time the day the work was scheduled and worked very professionally all day, staying a little longer to complete the job and not have to return the following day. Before leaving, they labeled all the circuits on the new electrical panel. Everything is working well and we are extremely pleased. Matt also returned a couple of days later to do some additional electrical work for us. I would hire this company for any and all electrical work I might need done. Fabulous!

Everything turned out fine. They were personable, professional, came on time, and completed the work.

Matt arrived on time, was professional and repaired both outlets. The caved in outlet had to be moved slightly over but now it is usuable again. Our on suite bathroom outlet is a GFI and it came out of the wall when I pulled on it to remove the plug from my hairdryer. Matt also repaired it and did so with my husband sleeping soundly. Matt did a great job putting a junction box in, re-routing some recessed lights to another switch and installing 3 more outlets in the bedroom. Everything works and looked good. he helped problem solve through the options available and recommend the best options. I will have him back.

There are three things that I look for when I need a project done. 1.Quality 2.Price 3 Can I trust the company working in my house Matt went above and beyond any expectations that I had!!!

Matt was very polite, professional, neat, and accommodating. He made every effort to work with our installer's schedule (and ours) even though he had a new baby at home. He was especially respectful and trustworthy to the point we were comfortable giving him access to our home even when we weren't there.

Matt has done work for me in the past and that is why I hired him again for this job. His fee is competitive with other contractors I have requested bid on past projects but Matt showed a better knowledge of how to approach the job as well as extensive experience working on older buildings in Chicago. I trust his workmanship and proper execution without any surprises during the process. He has good follow up and is always prompt when starting the job. When I have any future electrical work to be done I will use Matt at Goldstream.

Matt Goldowski did a great job! He first came out in April to give us an estimate and details on the work that needed to be done. He returned in May to complete the work. We were very happy with his services and the fact that his estimate was correct as well as the time needed to complete the job. He was very professional and worked with the village of Mt. Prospect to get everything finished on time. We would definately call him again for any electrical work that we need to have done.

Matt was excellent. He answered immediately when I called and was able to work around my schedule to come out the very next morning. At first I was put off by the minimum service charge, but I booked with him anyway, based on other Angie's List reviews. (and really, unlike some things, there is a lot of work that could go into the diagnosis here) He was amazing. I asked a lot of stupid questions just to satisfy my curiosity and he was happy to explain. It took him less than 2 hours and he was able to fix both problems, and he had all the replacement parts I needed with him in his truck. He was also able to salvage the light fixture in the foyer, despite what I considered to be a melty-looking mess of wires. I couldn't be happier with the price or the service. I will definitely be calling him again (even if he does move to the suburbs!) Oh, and word to the wise - don't let your tenants or loved ones put standard CFL bulbs into 30+ year old lights with dimmer switches - it seems that's a fire hazard.

Matt was recommended by another electrical company from the Angie's list. Matt was very punctual - he lets you know in advance what time he is coming, and would let you know if he is a few minutes late. He replaced burned-out switches/dimmers, installed new lighting pendants, and addressed a few other electrical issues in the house. Overall, Matt was very professional and thoroughly went over all the issues he discovered. The pricing is very reasonable as well. I highly recommend Matt and definitely will use his help in the future.

I got Matt's number from my neighbor. The estimate given turned out to be very professional and even though one contractor beat his prize, we decided to chose Matt. It was one day job. There was no damaged drywall, and no painting was needed after his work was done. Everything is working excellent.
