Our old Air Conditioner decided to quit on us in summer of 2014 and we needed to replace it. I looked at Angie's list and compared a few providers and decided to call Home Comfort Systems (HCS) first. The owner came our first (Stevie) and he is such an approachable person. He showed us where HCS has to offer and of course showed us all the awards his company has received with no complaints from BBB. He just seemed very honest and convincing. He also showed us options for zoning system for our home since we were always cold during winter and very hot during summer in all our upstairs bedrooms, while the first floor and basement were freezing during summer and too hot during winter months. Our energy bill was high and we needed something that would help us regulate temperature better in our house. Stevie convinced us to go with zoning and we have been very happy to report that it was the best decision we ever made. Now we have very comfortable temperature in our bedrooms during night and our first floor is very comfortable during the day and at night. Our energy bill is lower now too. I would recommend zoning for anyone who wants to regulate temperature better in their homes. It is worth every dollar you spend with Home Comfort Systems. They are very prompt and provide excellent service if needed after installation. I recently had to call them for some popping noise in my zoning system and they came and resolved the issue within an hour and everything was covered under warranty.

fair, clear, no nonsense estimates provided. installation smooth. no issues. i got 3 local estimates and felt confident with pricing. no problems over winter with furnace. ac hasn't been tested by hot day yet. would recommend and use again.

Great. They are extremely professional and cleaned up after themselves. The owner came by first to explain what they were going to do and how much it would cost. He even said he wouldn't charge us until a few weeks after we had the system so we were confident we liked it. And we really do. The zoned system that they recommended is amazing. Our upstairs, which was always too cold in the winter, is now very comfortable. I can't wait to see how it feels in the summer!

They called right away when I had an issue with my heat . They knew exactly what the problem was over the phone and instead of coming for an expensive service call told me what to do to fix it. I had the wrong air filter for my furnace which was blocking air flow. I am a customer for life for all my heating and cooling needs . Also the service guy mike was so helpful over the phone.

We had just installed new hardwood floors and had been strongly advised to maintain the humidity level in our home at a consistent level in order to protect our pricey investment. I did much research and between the reviews, products offered, and the fantastic price quoted by Steve, the owner, I chose this company. He told me over the phone that this price was the price, no "funny business or add-ons". True to his word, though it was a very challenging install due to tight space, I paid exactly what was quoted. His crew of two very nice professional young men even replaced my dried out old tape on the ducts in the furnace closet. I was feeling bad for one of the guys because he was a tall, solid guy, working in this very cramped area. They had to be creative to make it work, and though it was surely frustrating for them, they were nothing but nice and joking the whole time. I felt the owner was honest and straightforward. I would call him again for planned service or emergency needs without hesitation.

After working with the same HVAC company for 10 years, their service deteriorated and I turned to Angie's List for a new company. I called Home Comfort Systems upon the advice of fellow Angie's List members and the positive reviews and I am glad that I did. Not only were both Steve and Mike professional and knowledgable of American Standard products, they were really very nice people! They came out to see the problem since their company did not do the install and knew right away what the issue was. Since I have a limited understanding of how the system works and I'm a bit skeptical in general, Steve did a great job just explaining it in simple language and I didn't feel like he was talking in circles or BS. They decided that they would order a part and be back to install it. The next appointment Mike came and did the installation and after letting the unit run for several hours there was nothing leaking. Mike also adjusted my blower speed back to the factory recommended setting and now the unit is cooling all 3 floors of my home like it was intended to do. I will definitely use this Company for all my checks and service going forward. Just really nice people to do business with and I'm thankful that I found them through Angie's List.

They did an excellent job.....from the initial quote by the owner Steve, to the removal of the old systems, to the installation of the new heating and cooling systems, and to the meticulous clean up afterwards. The installers were very professional and worked diligently to get the job completed. I highly recommend them.

Home Comfort Systems did an absolutely excellent job when it came to the replacement of my furnace and air conditioning system. Appointment for review of requirements and quotes: ON TIME. Responsiveness to questions: FULL AND COMPLETE. Timeliness on Date of Installation: ON TIME. Quality of installation: METICULOUS! I would hire Steve and his team again anytime. Steve, thanks for putting Al on my job. He knows his business and was a true professional.

The company was very responsive when we called for a quote. They scheduled an immediate appointment for installation as soon as we told them we were going with them. They were good about working around our schedule. The install team was professional and worked quickly. We are very pleased with our new appliances. We needed all the serial and model numbers in order to apply for rebates from Nicor and Comed. They provided almost all the info we needed. (Just didn't give us the thermostat info) When we called for a few extra numbers, they got it to us right away. We would recommend them to anyone.

Home Comfort Systems in Bolingbrook is a winner. Steve the owner serviced the account from the beginning to end. I received the best quality installation and pricing available. Please note that American Standard furnaces and air conditioners are rated number one by Consumer Reports. I did my homework. Enough said, you will not be disappointed with your purchase from this company, I'm not. No risk here.

Our furnace started to fail and got 3 proposals in one day. Steve Bilica provided a competitive price and gave him the go ahead to install the furnace the next day. During his initial visit, Steve explained the benefits of the Honeywell zoning system with the pnuematic bladder system to solve my second floor temperature problems. I did not intend to solve the house heating/cooling issues at this time plus I was hesitant to zone the house based on my previous research. I am an architect by profession and had spoken to another HVAC contractor previously about a similar zoning system concept. Steve was confident that zoning would solve my problems. Steve reiterated that I would not have to pay for any services until I was completely satisfied so it seemed like a safe bet. We decided to install the zoning system and after 2 weeks, the system appears to be working well. The installation team for the furnace and zoning system was punctual, clean and responsive to all my requests. My overall experience with Home Comfort Systems was excellent and I would recommend them to my friends. Lastly, I prefer to deal with the owner of the company instead of a salesman when it comes to promises and oversight of my installation. I made the right decision for this major home system purchase.

I came home about 8:30 pm to hear my furnace making loud whistling noises. I called the first furnace repair place with 24-hour service that I could find on Angie's List - Home Comfort Systems. I talked to a dispatcher who told me she would pass on my request for service. As the minutes wore on, I was afraid that I would have to find another place to sleep that night. However, Mike called me a few minutes after 9:00. He asked a few questions and had me do some things with the thermostat. From the information I gave him, he was able to advise on what the problem likely was and that it was unlikely I would need a night emergency visit.. He also gave me some good information about furnace filters and other furnace maintenance tips. I felt that he was truly trying to help me. I will definitely call this company again!

Home Comfort Systems was able to schedule my furnace inspection and cleanup within a week, even though it was the busiest time of winter with very cold temperatures. The two technicians that came out were very professional and courteous. The price of the service was the lowest I found on the internet. They also somehow managed to make my furnace run quieter-- they must have found a loose part or lubricated a noisy one. I would recommend the company for their expertise and reliability.

I bought a house knowing the HVAC needed to be replaced. I received two quotes, one from Steve at Home Comort, and another from a contractor recommended by a family member. The biggest challenge was addressing an addition off the back of the house that was not serviced by the existing HVAC system in the house. Contractor #1 wanted to replace the HVAC for the existing portion of the system, and then install a separate "Mitsubishi" system to address the addition. This was going to cost an additional $8,000 and wasn't really an option due to budget. Steve's solution was to run duct work into the addition and "zone" the system. I spoke to contractor #1 about this idea and he was adamant it wouldn't work for a number of reasons. I spoke to Steve about the other contractor's concerns and he was able to walk me through why the other contractor was mistaken on his theories as to why the system wouldn't work. He aslo gave me a guaranty that if the newly installed zone for the addition didn't work, he would remove it and I wouldn't have to pay for it. That made the decision to go with Home Comfort Systems a no brainer. The install had a few snags, but they were able to troubleshoot on the spot and figure out a solution. The install crew did a great job and were able to complete the install in about 12 hours on a Saturday. Home Comfort also did work for a family member of mine who needed his AC unit replaced. Steve went over on Sunday morning and gave him a quote and completed the install that week. I highly recommend Home Comfort Systems.

We ran into problems pretty quickly; frequently it has trouble getting below about 72, and constantly tries to ice up. The response we get when complaining about this is typically "that's actually pretty good! no air conditioner made can do better!". Then they said that the unit came from the factory without enough coolant and added coolant. Now they say that there is a problem with the pressure valve and are going to replace the valve but repeatedly we are told that having the system be unable to get below the low 70s is normal and no system does better. I'm not an expert, but *IF* what they are saying now is true and my expectations were unreasonable, why did I get a different story ahead of time? If it's not true, then why say so now? I'm left worried that I have paid a bunch of money to create a problem with no solution except to have someone else replace this brand new system (although if their claims are right even that won't work and there's no way to go back to my old one). The jury is still out on this one -- to give the company their due, they are still working on the problem they now acknowledge the unit has, and hopefully it will ultimately do an acceptable job. The story switch, however, is very troubling and it leaves us concerned about how the furnace part of our purchase will turn out to be...something we can't really verify until next winter!

The whole process was handled wonderfully and professionally. Steve (the owner) showed up promptly, his presentation was excellent and to the point, and his pricing was very competitive. He was able to schedule us on the Saturday after the Fourth of July, which was great because we had been without A/C/ for two weeks. Al (the installer) showed up (early!) on Saturday morning and got right to work. The installation was complete seven hours later, which exceeded the 8 to 10 hour estimate that Steve had quoted. Steve and his Home Comfort Systems team completely exceeded my expectations, which is all you can ask for...I very highly recommend them!

Service Technician called me back within the hour. Asked me what kind of air filter I was using. Asked that I pull filter out. Air was shut off and fan was shut off. Asked me how long and I said over night. He said good. The filter that I was using was wrong and cause block of ice to form. Probably melted over night. Asked that I restart blower. Asked if fan was on. I said yes. Asked me to restart air conditioning. I did. He waited on phone and then asked if I had cold air. I said yes. I asked how much and he said no charge, 'Just don't use that kind of air filter again'.

At the time the estimate was provided, Steve helped me understand what the failures were and what it would take to correct them. I obtained 5 quotes from local HVAC services. Home Comfort Systems in Bolingbrook was reasonably priced and more important to me, I felt I could trust this company. I highly recommend this company and would use them in the future.

They came out to analyze the situation and were back quickly with the necessary part to repair the problem, even offered to come on a Saturday to get it in for us. They made sure all was in working order to my satisfaction before leaving - a great provider.

It went well. The technician arrived on time, and started work immediately. He was friendly. As he looked at my furnace, he asked when it was last cleaned. I said never (it was 4 years old at this point) and he was impressed with how clean it was. It was a quick clean, sanding of that rod in there (don't remember the name) and then he was done. Good to know that our furnace was in good shape, even with no cleanings for it's entire life. I wanted to use a local, smaller business and was not disappointed.

During the past heat wave during the week of Memorial Day - we called Home Comfort on Wednesday for a service call (the A/C was not running) and was told he would be able to squeeze us in on Sunday - but due to the large number of service calls - he will out between 8 am and 1 am. I was very surprised to hear that he is working that late. Other companies only work regular business hours. He said he would call 1/2 hour before he set out. Mike called around 1:30 pm on Sunday and said he was on his way and should be here in 30 to 40 minutes. He was here in 30 minutes and was able to figure out that we had no charge. He recharged the unit and while we were waiting - we had a very pleasant conversation with him. What an amazing man. He was very pleasant and polite. I can't express how happy I was that he managed to squeeze us in before the heat of the day set in further. It was already 86 in the house. I can't say anything new that the other "A" reviews have not already mentioned. We are in process of getting an estimate of work for replacing our furnace, A/C and maybe water heater. I'm looking forward to having Home Comfort as our go-to service company for all our future needs. Their reputation is well deserved.
