Arlington Porcelain Refinishing

They were punctual. I think they were fast. I would use them again in the future.

Called this company and Ed explained the process and told us that tube would need to set so the coatings would dry etc and we understood process. Set up a time for this recoating to be done with the addition of an anti skid pad to be added later in a few days. This tub was originally black and the well water had etched the shiny bottom with mineral stains as well. The original anti skid was totally gone. With that said I was doubtful that the tub was going to match the new toilet biscuit color. I figure that any result was better that what was there and I didn't feel like removing a 300+ lb tub to a landfill. Chris came out on time and started in promptly. He masked off the area and ran ventilation hoses out the window sealed off the rest of the window opening. He did a match to the new toilet tank lid and I was amazed how close the color matched! After I approved the color I got out of the way. Chris was here for few hours and then called me in to see the results. Just outstanding.... looked like a new tub!! Chris cleaned up and was on his way saying he'd be back in 5 days to caulk after removing the masking paper etc. Later I noticed some sags on the side of the tub. Chris came back and installed the anti skid area and fixed the sag and I can't see it at all now. Because we where remodeling the bathroom tube sat unused for 3 weeks waiting for new ceramic tile floor to be installed. After floor was installed I got a call from the tile company asking for Arlington’s phone number for their customers! It’s now 4 + months and a lot of use with no problems. It’s strongly suggested that non-abrasive cleaner be used. We are very careful about cleaning, as we want to keep it looking new. Antiskid pad is worth the additional money they charge. No more slippery rubber pads for us. So far no complaints and if something comes up I will up date this report. (it would be nice if I could put a picture in this Angie report)

I am still amazing at how great our tub looks, like new. The company was very prompt. They were able to come out in less than a week (3 days after calling for an appointment) and the technician that recoated the tub was very professional. I would use then again in the future without question!

Initially, the finish was extremely rough, with parts that felt as though they'd been painted with a brush. I called to complain, and they sent a guy over with a sander to "buff it out". He looked at it and agreed that it had to be re-done. The original guy came back and re-did the whole job. The final result was passable, but certainly not as good as I expected. The worker left me with mounds and mounds of paper rolled up for me to throw away myself. Much later I noticed a thin film of paint along the floor tiles that cannot be removed. This damage to the tiles sent this review down from a C to a D. I would never use or recommend this company to anyone.

Overall they did a great job refinishing the tub. We weren't around when they finished and later I noticed that there was one area that was a little bumpy. They promptly came back to fix the area.

The results were excellent- the major inconvenience is that the tub is not usable for 5 days. Also, be advised that this process produces chemical fumes, so be prepared to properly ventilate the work area. Our technician, Chris, was very professional and answered all questions. He also cleaned up afterwards and inconvenience was held to a minimum.

I used them because of the reviews on Angies list. The project went fine. It was one person who came out. He arrived when he said he would. He did a good job. He cleaned up the mess. He left instruction because you cannot use the bath tub for few days. He had to come back to install the shower doors back on. Everything looks fine. The tub looks great.

Not sure of exact cost. Very professional. Was able to schedule appt quickly. There were three small dimples that the worker came back and filled in and he also applied caulk at the time. The finish is perfect, a beautiful true white with a nice shine. I have opted to use a rubber bath mat in the tub because it is very smooth and therefore can be slippery. Over all, very pleased

My tub and tile is located in an Chicago high rise building, there are special requirements and approvals needed from the condo association before any remodeling can be done. Arlington Porcelain complied with all of their rules as well as did a beautiful job in my bathroom. Al was on-time, pleasant and very neat. Job took about 6 hrs, plus he came back a few days later to caulk. I was advised that the tub and tile could not be used for 5 days, so the work was scheduled when my tenants were out of town.

The end result was very good. Had one problem with a run in the finish on the outside of the tub. I called and an appointment to fix the problem was made and the fix was made. Overall, our experience was very positive.

It went very well. He was right on time, & the whole process took about 2 1/2 hrs.

Quite well. It was not intrusive, there were no toxic fumes to humans or animal. However bathroom was out of commission for 5 days as the work needed to dry and cure.

I thought the service person was very honest and he said that if I wasn't satisfied, he would come out again and correct the problem. I was appreciative and save some bucks.

My old tub was clean and white with no stains. The problem was that the finish on the bottom had worn down after years of use and was rough to the touch and difficult to clean. I selected this company after reading many reviews on Angie's List. Apparently, there are a lot of poor quality tub refinishers out there. This company had the most satisfied customers. I called and was able to set up an appointment easily. The person on the phone immediately and gleefully volunteered the discounted price ($355 vs $375) for Angie's List members when I mentioned I was a member. I wasn't present for the work (I left the key with the doorman and a check on the sink). However, when I came by the next day, the tub looked beautiful. It is perfectly shiny and appears new. I did not notice any remaining fumes or odors. They left me a set of instructions for care and maintenance: Do not remove the protective paper for 24-48 hours, do not replace the hardware for four days, do not let water touch the surface for five days. This is fine for me since I am renovating a vacant condo. It would be inconvenient for someone with only one bathroom. A note on the instructions said the the new surface will continue to cure and bond with the old surface for 90 days. However, you can use the tub after five days. These are my initial impressions. I haven't been able to closely examine the workmanship yet for fear of maring the finish. A quick visual inspection shows no flaws. I do not know how the new surface will perform over time. I'll update this post if anything changes.

I made an appointment to have our bathtub re-finished which had originally been done by another company years ago. Alan came out and advised it didn't need to be completely refinished ~ only the very bottom of the tub. He did the repairs and put on a non-slip surface for a total of $120.00 (the original quote was for doing the whole tub for $350.00) ... thanks to Alan's honesty, we had a cost reduction and he did a tremendous job in matching the color. I then had Alan take a look at our terrazzo shower stall floor and made an appointment for the following week to have that done. Chris came out to glaze the floor which looks like brand new. Both technicians were great and I highly recommend using this company.

He was on time. He worked around my schedule. Easy to get ahold of on his cell phone.

This was a good experience. We called around for quotes and Arlington was right in the middle of the others we got, but could service us faster than others. The guy who came actually called to see if he could come a day or two EARLIER than scheduled, which was nice, then came on time and worked efficiently, using his own ventilation system. There were no surprises, and the tub looks great. Unfortunately, this process is pretty stinky and inconvenient, but that's not the company's fault--I think it's always that kind of job. We had to air out the bathroom for days and couldn't use it for 5 days and then had to recaulk ourselves. We chose to have this done in the winter, and I think it would be better done in the fall or spring, when it's not so hard to keep the windows of the house open for awhile!

The person answering the phone was very polite and helpful. I was given a quote over the phone and explained the process and pricing in great detail. Due to the drying time for the refinishing I will have to delay using this company for a few months. I was told to allow 2-3 weeks to have an appointment. However, I have great confidence in the finished product.

Called. Got estimate. Job was done in my absence. I left a check with the doorman to give to the Arlington Porcelin Refinishers. There was an added fee for the extra stripping total 500.

They were very prompt in getting back to me. They didn't have to come out to give estimate, which was fine with me - the quote over the phone was good. They were very busy, so we had to schedule out about 4 weeks, but that was fine since I wasn't really in a hurry. Then they had a cancellation and were able to move me up on the schedule. He was very prompt in coming, did great work, ventilated very well (stinky stuff) and cleaned up after himself. Then he came back to caulk and it was ready to use. It's been about 6 weeks and all is well so far - I still love the brand-new look and hope it stays!

I was very impressed how neat they worked and completed the project. They had to peel the paint that was chipping and cracking from the last job. I also had them come back out for $70.00 to re-grout both tubs. It was worth the extra $70.00. They did a beautiful job on the tubs. They are very professional and nice to talk to. They completed the service on time and also were prompt for the scheduled appointments.

They did a great job! They came on time and on Monday they came and did the peeling and resurfacing. Alan let me look at the tub, they job they did I could not believe how it turned out. Thursday they came back to the grouting. He even even helped hang my curtain in the bathroom after it was done. He his coming back to another tub for me, that is how satisfied I was. Alan was very nice, helpful and did a great job.

The work was performed last year in July 2007. I have an original 1927 bathroom and tile that was in much need of updating. Some said that it should be torn out. They came out and gave a reasonable quote and started work the following week. They were very professional and always on time. The work took 2 days as stated and the bath room tub and tile look new again. I have recommended this company to all my friends.

All parts of the job were handled professionally and smoothly. Received confirmation calls before the estimate appointment and the job appointment. Men arrived on time. Confined the mess to the bathroom, and vented the fumes out a nearby window. Cleaned up fully at the end of the day. Returned a few days later, as agreed, to apply the non-skid surface. Paid total price at the end of the job. Both our cleaning lady and our plumber (each of whom sees a LOT of bathrooms) were impressed by the quality of the work. Did the work for the quoted price, even throwing in the non-skid surface (which I had forgotten to mention when they estimated the job) for no additional cost. The work was done in connection with a bathroom remodel and the price was significantly less than our other option, which was to tear out the existing tub and sink and replace them.

Just finished the work today. Allen was professional and speedy. Looks amazing. Their work is guaranteed for 5 years (I got a quote from Like-Nu for $475 and they would not even guarantee the work).
