It was a simple repair: replacing cracked ignitor. It took about total of 20 min. for service person to do the job. The charge was $200. The part (ignitor) costs under $40 in local store and under $20 online. The price was ridiculously unreasonable.

I spoke with a person on the phone whose name was possibly Liz. She was helpful and let me know she could have someone there the same day. She allowed me to order the special inspection coupon deal from Angie's List that I initially called about. I also ordered one for the air conditioner inspection which couldn't be used the same day as the furnace inspection because of the low temperature outdoors. Since I had to work, my girlfriend was present during the visit though I was able to stop in during lunch. The technician, Mark, was prompt, professional, and seemed willing to answer any questions. He wore covers over his boots to keep the place clean, which is appreciated since it was raining. He diagnosed the problem and replaced some parts, including a flame sensor. He also replaced the thermostat with a new programmable one. He vacuumed up the area when he was done. I was happy he was able to get things running normally and safely, and that I did not have to buy a new furnace for my new-to-me (old) house. I do not feel like and unnecessary work was performed and he gave an honest assessment of the condition of the water heater and furnace. Unfortunately, I cannot speak to the price as this was the first home repair I have ever needed to have a professional perform and I did not get other quotes. It was affordable enough and I was satisfied with the work. I look forward to this level of efficiency and service when they come to inspect and maintain the air conditioning unit in a couple weeks, which I was able to schedule the same day as the furnace service.
Description of Work: I contacted the company based on positive Angie's List reviews. I recently had bought my first house and needed to have the furnace, hot water heater, and air conditioner inspected and serviced. I knew something was not right with the furnace as it would only ignite occasionally.

Good...furnace worked all winter without issues. Even during the Polar Vortex days.
Description of Work: I used a coupon to have these guys come out and do a furnace tuneup for me and verify all was in working order before this last winter's extreme cold hit. It had been a few years since I had it done. They did a thorough job as I was with the technician the whole time. He told me my furnace was working great and did temp and blower tests as well as checked my burner, etc. They didn't try to upsell me on any other equipment or services. All straight forward and thorough which is what I like. I'd definitely call them again if I have issues or in need for another tune-up.

Could have been in within 24 hours, had my schedule allowed it. In and out in under an hour with the diagnosis and the repair completed. Mike was very personable and professional. He clean up everything as it was when he arrived. One of the most satisfying experiences I have had with a home repair of any kind.

hey put in a furnace and AC. DJ was very professional and honest and no hidden agenda! He didn't do a bunch of hocus-pocus....he just went through our home, then told us how much it was going to be and the date he was going to put it in. He made it a painless process! I would definitely use Green's again!

Called in August originally for held evaluating faulty boiler. They said they would get back, did not. Called again and they did send someone to look at it, who said he'd need to send another person. Didn't hear for weeks, called again. They said they'd be there between 8 and 10, at 10:30 called and said they were on their way. Did do a thorough evaluation and said they'd send me an estimate for the cost. Never heard from them again.

We apologize about the communication error we seem to have had with your service call. The first technician that came out found that the addition on your house was not working correctly. He called and requested that our department manager who has more knowledge on boiler systems return to properly assess the issues you were having and look over piping. The manager contacted you to let you know that he wanted our boiler representative to join him on this call so they could put their heads together and give your an accurate diagnosis. Since our boiler representative is from another company, he had to call you back to schedule the appointment once we were about to get it fit into his schedule. We apologize that the 2nd appointment had to be reschedule due to illness, unfortunately that happens and is never fun for either parties involved. When they were finally able to come out and properly assess the issue, it seems like it was an error in piping from the original installing company. We were told to hold off on providing a quote for repairing this issue because you wanted to contact the company who installed the boiler system to see they'd fix this issue at no charge to you. This is where the communication error must have happened. Our manager was waiting for a call to prepare a quote for you, and assumed since we did not hear from you, the other company was able to fix it. He became busy and unfortunately made the wrong assumption about the situation. We apologize no follow up call was made to see if the situation had been taken care of or if you wanted our company to do the repairs. We never want a customer to feel like we dropped the ball or that we have forgotten them. If our customer's aren't happy, we are not happy. We hope you give us a 2nd chance someday so that we may prove to you that we are a company worth using and not hold a communication error against us. We have extremely great technicians on both Appliance and Heating and Cooling sides of our business and a friendly office staff waiting to take the calls.

Jeff was very prompt and courteous. After giving me the estimate for repair we discussed the pros and cons of repair vs. replacement. At no time did I feel I was being persuaded or coerced to decide in one way or another. I said I would talk it over with my husband and get back to Greens. We decided to fix the dishwasher. Jeff came back as quickly as both our schedules allowed which was a very reasonable time. When he returned the repair was completed quickly and he did a test run to be sure it would work. The completed cost was exactly what Jeff said it would be. He was very courteous, prompt and did not leave any mess. I would definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: The technician evaluated my nonfunctional dishwasher and soon located the problem which was the control panel. He gave me an estimate of the cost a new panel with installation. .

We were 26 days from closing on our house during the week of the hottest weather of the year, our air conditioner went out. We called Greens to see if they could service it and keep it running; however after a lengthy analysis, determined that we needed a new unit. They contacted us right away and came out within a day or two to give us a quote. We asked for them to quote the least expensive option to get air flowing to the house vs. replacing with a more effiecient furnace and air conditioning unit, which the buyers of the house could pay the difference if desired. I was impressed that the gentleman told me that he would not replace the furnace; he said it was a great furnace, top of the line, and if it was his house, he would just replace the air conditioner; so we just replaced the air after discussing with our buyers. I got the quote from him for the base model and then a more efficeint model that same afternoon, and we scheduled the appointment that day as well. The soonest they could get us in was the following week. We did have to go through the very hottest weather of the summer without air, but I am not sure any company would have been able to do it sooner at the same pricing. We did not shop around to compare as we have liked their services in the past, and we did feel they did their best to give us favorable pricing. The day of installation they were ontime, finished under their estimated time frame, and they were very clean. The new unit is cooling the house as expected, but the overall quality I didnt feel I could rate. We will use them in our new house should we have any issues; but I am secretly hoping not to see them for at least 10yrs!

We got help with them last week. They came out in less than 24 hours. He could have done a really expensive repair, but we chose the cheaper option for 100 dollars. We can no longer use the automatic cycles, but we don't care. We use the timed drying cycle. It is an old appliance. We appreciated his help.

When I called they were able to schedule me for the next day. The technician that came out was on time. The dispatcher had called an hr before he got here to let me know he was on his way. His name is Bryan and he is a very nice professional young man. When I asked questions about the air conditioner he explained everything. He also knew right away what was wrong and then did some tests to make sure. I was told by another company over the phone it was probably out of freon which would cost between $400 and $600. But that was not the case and only cost $180. He had the part needed on his truck. I was very pleased with the service and cost. I would use them again and I would highly recommend them to others.

This company is one we used before and were impressed enough to call again. We were not disappointed. Great service!!!! The work could not be done the first service call due to the parts had to be ordered. We set up an appt. for 2 days later and he showed up with the parts and fixed the washer. Once again he did in no way try to sell us anything we did not need. He was very professional and friendly explaining our problem and the cost. While it was more than we had hoped it would be it was a fair price quote. We were not ready to buy new yet so told him to fix it. The washer works great and we are more than pleased. Professional and friendly service tech who was knowledgeable and explained everything in detail to our understanding. Use this vendor....you will not be disappointed!!!!

I left a message after 7pm on Sunday, got a call shortly after 7am on Monday morning and had the rep out here before noon. He quickly identified that there was a problem with my circuit breaker, but did some standard maintenance on the Central Air unit and replaced something that tested borderline bad. (he didn't pressure me to replace it, just observed and recommended it) Ultimately the problem had to be resolved by an electrician (and was later that day) I appreciated the quick response.

Leaks not addressed at on on initial visit. When "repaired" initially, continued to have significant leak. Had to have them back to complete. Owner, although he stated "he wasn't THAT GUY", tried to convince me I needed to upgrade to high efficiency furnace. In my town house this would have required an extensive amount of work. Contacted multiple other H & C companies. My furnace has never failed. My MidAmerican survey always listed my effieciency in good to excellent category. He is THAT GUY & I'm glad I checked elsewhere. Months after work was done, I started to get messages on home phone to see if I had decided to have any work done. Finally had tocall to tell them it had been done!

This review is very confusing because Green's was asked by (removed member name) to provide a quote for new furnace, because she was told that the 80% mid-efficiency furnaces were soon going to be discontinued. Green's recommended that she consider a high efficient furnace that would provide a much quicker pay back on investment, more comfortable indoor environment and better warranty. Green's will never attempt high pressure sales tactics. I or We are not "That Guy". The time spent to provide information, free written quote, follow up calls was paid for by Green's asking nothing in return but to keep us in mind should she decide to move forward with the new furnace. If anyone would like to see the facts on why it is better to install a high efficient furnace in your home or business instead of mid-efficient furnace that will spend nearly half the heat you are paying for right out your flue pipe, please call Green's and we can prove to you the energy comparison, which the utility company will confirm. There is good reason why Mid-American Energy offers rebates for high efficient furnaces and air conditioners and a Federal Tax Credit while it lasts. We called to get an estimate for a new furnace and AC and were told someone would contact us. Dan returned our call and scheduled an appointment between 11 and 2 the next day. Dan never showed up nor did he call to tell us he would not be able to make the appointment. Huge disappointment after reading good things about this company on Angie's List. Not the people to call if your AC is not working and you are in the market for a new system.

I was very pleased with them all the way through the process. DJ revised the quote for me several times until I got just what I wanted. The techs who did the work were courteous and professional, and did a great job. The new ductwork is neat and efficiently laid out. I was also pleased that they cleaned up the dust and debris left from the removal of the old ductwork and furnace. They even submitted the paperwork for the warranty and Mid-American rebate for me. The work came in within a few dollars of the quote. I fully intend to use Green's again in the future!
Description of Work: Green's installed a new furnace, redid all of the ductwork, tuned up the A/C, cleaned the A-coil, installed a new thermostat, and ran a gas line to the kitchen for a gas stove.

With their arrival on Monday after a couple of cool late spring days the technicians assessed what was required and got to work and got started. Since it was still sunny on Monday they altered their plan of tasks to get the outside work done first. The condensing unit was removed and the new one set. Since the dimensions of my furnace space was smaller than would except the furnace that was delivered, a different one was installed with no up-charge. They fabricated the required transitions and set the furnace and coils. Made all necessary connections and installed the new digital thermostat. I requested that they remove my humidifier and since it was in the way, that wasn't a problem and actually was included in the original estimate. Finally they installed the furnace intake and exhaust piping and charged the system. All in all, i'm very satisfied with the work and the performance of the equipment installed. I haven't had it for the first month's billing cycle, However it should be a savings over last month since the Furnace installed is touted to be a 96& efficient unit.
Description of Work: Installed a new high efficiency furnace and whole house air conditioning equipment.

It went well. I will us them again.
Description of Work: They put in a new heat pump/furnace. They were professional fast and cleaned up after they were done. I called them because they had previously fixed my stove and was impressed with them. Why I am writing now is because earlier this winter our furnace wouldn't come on. I called and the person that answered the phone said he was at the grocery store with his wife. He said he would be here as soon as they were done. Less than hour he was at my house fixing the problem.
