Friend Landscaping

Called Bill the day after a snow storm with the hopes that they could help remove snow from our drive, etc. since our usual service provider left us high and dry (or snowed in!). He and his crew came out within a few hours after I called and did a great job clearing up our snow, so I asked them to keep our house on the list for all future snow falls! We aren't going to miss our old snow removal/landscaping company :)

Bill was professional, reasonably priced and completed work on time. He was truly interested in making a good working product.

I called Bill Friend after a heavy rain flooded our sunroom off of the patio. Being very afraid it could happen again, something needed to be done now. He answered on my first try and actually came out to look at the problem the very same day! That was amazing to me and so helpful. He assessed the problem and told me definitively what it would take to fix it and approximately what it would cost. He even waited around a bit for my wife to get home so he could explain it to her. He was busy, so couldn't get to the job for a while, but offered to come back in a couple of days to do a temporary fix so I could stop worrying about getting flooded again. That is exactly what he did. Within three days I didn't have to worry so much about the next rain and we were on his calendar to get the whole job done. That kind of responsiveness out of a service provider is absolutely unheard of to me! We were ready to hire him on the spot with no other estimates. The work was done exactly as he said it would be, and when he said it would be. It was done well and it works. Bill and his crew were courteous, thoughtful and cleaned up as if they had never been here. There were no negatives. This is a high quality, human service oriented company. They actually seemed to care about my project!

Very busy contractor but explains his timeline up front and if you give enough lead time the work product is worth the wait. Pricing seemed a bit high, but for good work worth any extra spent.

I first contacted Bill after a snowstorm & he has taken care of my drive all winter! Great service and fast. Contacted Bill this spring for rock in my drive and couldn't be happier with the results.

Friend's waited until the snow had ended, then removed it. They even bought my garbage cans in from the curb for me! After my previous company quit residential snow removal, I was afraid I could not find someone else. Friend's answered the phone, assured me that they could do the job and they did!

In researching landscapers online, I saw Friend Landscaping right here on Angies list. His company had numerous very good reviews, and very well rated with BBB, so I contacted him for a quote for landscaping repairs that we were planning on needing to be done in the spring time. When he came out, we discussed the construction work that had been completed which had torn up all the landscaping. The conversation went to the problems that I'd had with previous contractors in getting the job done, so I still had to get the pool assembled and deck built before I could have him do the grass re-seeding and other repair work. It was at that point that I found out that he had experience assembling swimming pools and offered to get it assembled now rather than waiting until spring. Long story short, he came back the very next day to start the work and had the entire pool fully assembled in 3 days. Cost was higher than I would have paid a swimming pool company to do it in the spring, however he was willing to get it done right away, so that it was ready to go in the spring. I started my conversation with him just looking for a landscaper to do some repair work, but found out he does so much more work than just landscaping, and got my pool up months ahead of anyone else being willing to do the work, and also spent several hours discussing other items on the project list unrelated to the pool install that I was paying him to do. Lots of very good ideas on deck design/construction that I hadn't considered, as well as proper landscaping materials/ideas around and underneath the deck once built . Extremely professional folks to work with, and provided a huge amount of extra thoughts/ideas on my deck assembly, landscaping repairs, etc. Well worth the price paid in my mind, and I definitely will be getting a quote from him in the spring to do the actual landscaping work, the reason I contacted him in the first place.

They did a good job I use them every year.

Our home had settled so we needed to regrade around the foundation. We received a few other bids but decided to go with Friend Landscaping. Bill seemed the most knowledgable and willing to do the job. Very responsive. He kept us informed throughout the entire job and answered all our questions. He offered some great suggestions as well. We would recommend Friend Landscaping and plan on hiring Bill again this spring for additional landscaping needs.

Was neat, professional and rented to his work.

Bill and his team did a nice job. I was very grateful he worked hard to squeeze me in. I made several calls to landscapers, some called back, a few showed up to give an estimate, and Bill was the only one who got back to me after knowing I only had a rinky d*** job (but a very big deal to me!). He also had good ideas about drainage for my yard which I really appreciated. I will call him in the future for other projects.

Bill & his team were very professional: they got the work done in a timely manner before the approximated deadline and went far above our expectations.

Friend landscaping started project earlier than originally projected. Always called to verify time and work was acceptable. Made great suggestions which we would not have thought about.

Nothing - We are looking to have a rather large project done behind our home. Because of the good reviews on Angies List, we left 2 separate messages on the businesses recording asking them to call back and discuss our needs and setup a time when they could provide a quote. Never received a call back. Update - received a call from the owner. He apologized not getting back to us in a timely manner and assured us that he normally returns all calls. Appears the message was accidentially over looked. We had a nice discussion and he answered some questions we had regarding the patio we are looking to add. He said he would be available if we were still looking for a quote and I could call him with questions even if we picked another company. Thanks, Randy

I called Bill to get a bid for yard grading. With the recent storms, I was concerned about the possibility of water coming into the house. Bill reviewed our options but recommended we wait as he did not see the grading as an immediate need. If we have any future yard or snow removal needs I will definitely call Bill as I respect his honesty. He could have easily sold me on spending money on a project that is not an immediate need.

I picked up the business card at a garden show and contacted them for an estimate. I did not seek another estimate for a better known vendor and have no regrets. The work was done in one day and Bill has followed up. About my opinion of the job, I will use his company again and again.

He did a great job, he did what he said he was going to do. He's a very nice person to work with. I have no complaints, it was a good experience.

It went fine he will be doing it for us from now on each year.
