Everything went great.

I contacted Ortiz to see how soon he could come to our home to give us an estimate. He explained that he wouldn't be able to come out for 3 - 4 weeks. Instead, he recommended someone else for me to contact and gave me the name and number. When my work needing to be done is not so time sensitive, I will definitely be calling Ortiz back.

We hired the Ortiz Landscape Company to build a retaining wall with steps and fill an area with dirt. we needed to eliminate an eroding slope that was destroying our slate patio. Mr. Ortiz was professional and knowledgeable and helped me to layout exactly what need to be done. He was responsive on the phone and planned exactly what needed to be done. He communicated clearly and was very informative about the steps necessary to build the wall, fill the area and build the steps for proper drainage. I asked him while he was working what he would charge to pipe the runoff to our storm drain and also to re-sod our front lawn. His prices were very fair and he completed the job quickly without and of the aggravation I've experienced from other contractors. Also of interest, I used the Angie's list contact mechanism to ask for pricing from seven different landscapers. He was the only one the responded promptly of the two that responded and the second landscaper never called back.

Excellently. It was a two man job in very hot weather. Felipe and his helper prepared the ground, did the seeding and added pinestraw. The grass looks wonderful and the ivy is thriving. The previous erosion problems appear to be resolved, now that runoff from the hill is controlled.

This contractor scheduled 3 appointments to visit my house and cancelled or no showed every time. I do not know why I wasted my time with him, if he didn't want or need the job just say so.

Felipe and his crew were very professional, reliable and knowledgeable. My property had not been maintained in over 15 years, and it was overgrown with weeds, shrubs, ivy and various items such that you could not see the house very well from the street. Felipe was knowledgeable about the plants that should remain and which ones were weeds to remove. He had good recommendations on incorporating new plants that will add color and design to the property. He worked at the property for over two weeks and was always there when he said he would be. He and his crew worked long and hard hours-some days working to 7:00 pm to get the job done.

We were very pleased....the steps look great! Felipe listened and understood our safety concerns and he addressed them well. He and Daniel worked quickly. Very pleasant to work with.

Mr. Ortiz's talent is landscape design, implementation and even repair of existing irrigation system. He provided estimates for all designs and work, completed them exactly as promised. We are very happy with our new landscape, trees and plants, he started with a general yard clean up and moved some of the existing plants to new beds. In the Spring we will use him for our sod.

Mr. Ortiz was very professional and called me back several times. Finally telling me he would not be able to help us.

Philipe came to give us a quote on Friday and was there to do the work on Monday. He and his partner did all of the work themselves. They were very prompt, friendly and professional. The walls looks great! They cleaned up thoroughly after completing the job on time and on budget. We are very pleased!.

The job was great, but the follow-up has been poor. What I liked: Felipe did the work himself with another man and the job took just two or three days. The retaining wall was an afterthought once he already started with the sod, but he was able to start building it the next day. He even was able to get stone for the wall that matched the stone we already had on our walkway and patio. It looks wonderful. He also saved us a little money by giving us ideas on how to use the leftover dirt in our yard (we used it to build up the flower bed) rather than taking it to a dumping site for a fee. He was terrifically nice and readily available by phone. What I'm disappointed with is the follow-up. Our yard slopes down, and at the bottom, the grass has been soggy as a wet sponge all summer. We figure that's in large part because of all the rain we've had, but we wanted Felipe to come back and just briefly check it to make sure. We also wanted him to check that it was growing in OK and that we were mowing it properly. At first I had trouble reaching him at all -- he didn't return any messages. Eventually I reached him, and each time he said he was very busy with a number of jobs and call me back to say when he'd be in our area again. That conversation happened three times. He never called me back. We are still a bit concerned about that part of our lawn, and it's been unusable all summer. We're now considering asking other landscapers for their opinions on the issue. I really like Felipe, and he did a good job -- the grass grew in nicely and we are pleased with the wall he built -- so it's a shame that we've been left disappointed by the follow-up.

It went well. Felipe was very responsive to questions. Felipe was on site most of the time with Daniel. Felipe was very knowledgable about fixing the irrigation system and repairing the cable/phone line when it was damaged. Felipe was able to share his vision for the yard and then stay within that proposal. As the work progressed he let us know that certain things would make the end result better. Example would be trimming up some trees of excessive limbs. Felipe set the irrigation system to make sure that I was watering enough. I would definitely contact him to have add'l work performed.

He put in a stone patio maybe 10x10, railroad tie stairs down the side of our yard. Then they built a two level planting bed out of railroad ties. We love it

He gave me a quote and schedule an appointment and he was able to finish the project earlier than expected. My experience with him was great. The grass is looking beautiful and he was very nice.

Felipe never showed on 2 different occasions to give me a quote.

I got a bid on some landscape work that was over $4000 total. While I liked he ideas, I decided not to use Felipe after he failed to call me back -twice. I was all ready to use him and had to contact him to get an appointment to finalize. He said he would call me the next week. Never did. I don't do business with people who can't call me back.I

Never received a call back from Ortiz Landsaping.

I had a very good experience with Ortiz, he promptly responded my inquiry and was able to visit my property and get me a comprehensive estimate for the work in a timely fashion. He seemed very knowledgeable and I would have been very comfortable with him performing the work. Ultimately we went with another company whose price was slightly better, but Ortiz was a close second. I would recommend contacting him for an estimate for this type of work.

Chose Felipe after doing my due diligence..He came out on time and we walked through the project together at which time Felipe wrote up an estimate..I like his style from the very beginning, as he patiently listened to my concerns and what my expectations were. We decided to choose Felipe because I had a "Gut Feeling" he was the right man for the job. His crew (Angel & Juan) did a h*** of a job on the project..They laid out tarps to put the fill on and cleaned up at the end of every day..During the course of the project I added some ground cover, pine straw, and sod.. During the 01/30/13 storm that came through, the drainage project worked flawlessly as there was no flooding, and no erosion.. If you want your project done right, then Ortiz Landscaping Services is the business to call.. Thanks Felipe...

I have worked with Ortiz Landscape at least 4 times over the past couple of years -- Cleaning up landscape and trimming shrubs, laying new sod, and adding hardscape in addition to more routine mulching and planting. The work is always professional at a good price, Felipe really knows what he is doing. I continue to recommend them to anyone that needs landscape work!

Felipe and his crew repaired our damaged retaining wall and re-enforced the part of the wall that was still intact with more gravel. He was knowledgeable, professional, and showed up on time (and was easy to contact/ available when I needed to ask questions about the project). I had three separate quotes, and his was the most reasonable. I would use his service again, when we get to do more landscaping work around our yard.

Felipe did a fantastic job with our landscaping needs. He came out the day we called him, provided us a detailed estimate, and performed the job on time and as explained/quoted. Our yard looks fantastic and we wouldn't hesitate to refer Felipe to our friends.

I had no problems with his service at all. He was easy to work with and paid attention to detail. The price was less than I was expecting and he offered and performed additional work that needed to be done at no additional charge. He was easy to work with in scheduling the job since I had to postpone it a couple of days after we had set it up.
