Description of Work: i called Mr. Felipe Ortiz four times and each time he promised to come by and give us a cost to remove approximately 20 trees. He never called, never came by, and never responded. Don't bother with this person, he is either too busy and doesn't need the work or is just not interested.

Description of Work: Mr. Ortiz did an outstanding job regrading the back yard, installing a new sprinkler system and laying fescue sod. He took his time creating a detailed estimate for us. He treated our yard as if it was his own during the entire project! He talked to us each day about the progress, he showed us the new and old sprinklers, repaired one of the old heads, etc. The sod took very well and quickly and our yard looked beautiful in a matter of days. Our neighbors noted the excellent job and have contacted him about working on their yard as well. Thank you Mr. Ortiz.

Description of Work: They installed new stone pavers on an existing concrete walkway and steps. They widened the walk by 8" with new edge concrete. The job turned out ok, but they completely did not follow the paving pattern which was drawn by the architect. They installed to pattern they preferred without notice to the owner.

Description of Work: As part of a total refurbish on a home we inherited, we got three quotes to have the entire area stripped of the undergrowth, bring in sufficient dirt to level the area, remove several larger roots that had grown above the soil level, install an irrigation system and lay down 15 pallets of zeon zoysia. Felipe was the most forthcoming with information and readily provided us with a number of customers landscape jobs to go and see. While visiting one home, the homeowner came out into the yard and he told me that this was the third home time that he had used Ortiz Landscaping to do work on different homes that he had owned. We were sold. Felipe was extremely helpful. He convinced us not to spend money on a wall that we thought we needed, but,that he was able to landscape out of the picture. He told me exactly when he would start and approximately how long he would take to finish the job. He kept us informed every step of the way and was very quick to respond in the event I called him with a question. He installed three pine islands and took out two trees that we needed to have removed. The sod looks fantastic and, thanks to the irrigation system that he installed, we don't have to worry about proper watering. Both Felipe and his helper(s) are very hard workers. They are professional and great to work with. Felipe is very efficient, but he never rushes or makes you feel like he just wants to get the job done and move on. He is very thorough in everything he does. He's a bit of a perfectionist and that really impressed us. We would recommend him to anyone that asked and we plan to use him again in the fall. Time to tackle that back yard!

Description of Work: Ortiz did some work installing landscaping timbers for a retaining wall and did an excellent job. His team works fast, hard and does high quality work. He will be out to my place again next month for some plantings in my front yard. One of the nicest landscapers I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Just a super person.

Description of Work: We used Mr. Ortiz for a clean-up of our yard last November. At that time I was extremely pleased and they left my yard looking beautiful. BUT!! One of the agreements we had was that they would come back in the early spring and take care of emerging weeds and make sure things were again cleaned up and cut back as well as some maintenance jobs he had agreed to do. Mr. Ortiz was impossible to reach and we could not pin him down about when he would be out. He finally showed up some time in the summer, I believe in July. We explained that by this time the yard was a mess again and would take a lot more work because he had not shown up as promised in the spring to deal with the emergent weeds. He apologized, gave us a price and said that he would have a crew out in a couple of weeks. It is now October and we have never seen Mr. Ortiz, heard from him, or had anyone show up to do what they promised to do. Our yard is now a disaster and we will have to go hunting again for someone to do a major job that will be ridiculously expensive because Ortiz Landscaping did not uphold their end of the agreement. I am sincerely disappointed because I really liked Mr. Ortiz and the initial work was well done.

Description of Work: I received a email from Ortiz on 9/2//12 which was a Sunday to give him a call, I call him on Monday and he asked me to send him my address which I did, he was to come out the following Friday, he never did nor did he call. I also later send him a text asking if him to call, which he hasn't, I'm verydis appointed because I really need a curb side appearance. I believed everything about Angies List that's one of the reason I joined, but my first experience was a REAL let down.

Description of Work: Mr. Ortiz graded the back yard and put river sand down for a pool. He showed up and did the service the same day,He did a fabulous job.

Description of Work: I hired Felipe on a whim for services I needed to have done asap since most business were closed for the Holiday weekend. Felipe gave me a quote to just blow my yard and cut the grass, it was suppose to be done by him. The next thing you know he's on the phone and I have strangers in my yard and surrounding my home assisting him. Even a little girl running across my yard yelling Papi and talking to him while he was working. I found that to be very unprofessional and an invasion of my privacy and home. Instead of bagging the cut grass, he blew it into my bushes and hid others at the back of a pine piles. Instead of picking up pine cones, he kicked them across the yard and only trimmed half the driveway. Felipe promised to remove the weeds and supply weed killer to the lawn and then at the end of the service he said he ran out from the house before mines and didnt have any on him, but kept the price the same!!! The entire service was poorly done, and I would not recommend Felipe for ANY SERVICE to ANYONE!!! By the way, he understands english very well. He acts like he doesnt understand things when your explaining things that he did wrong and needs to be corrected. Lastly, I paid hime and asked him to fix two areas before leaving, and when I came back outside to check, he left without completing them.

Description of Work: I wouldn't know how good his work is. We never got that far. I called Felipe Ortiz on Tuesday, May 15th after reading his rewiews on Angie's List. He was very confusing to speak with; very difficult to understand. He told me to send him a detailed e-mail of what I wanted and where I live. I did that immediately. I never received a response/reply. I called Felipe again on Tuesday, May 22nd and left another message. He called me right back, but never listened to the message I left, which detailed my work request. Again, very confusing to understand. He said he was trying to handle all his work requests. He asked me AGAIN where I live and what type of work I need. I explained AGAIN. I just neded to have my grass cut and have leaves blown and picked up - basic yard work. He told me that he mostly does yard maintenance. Isn't that what I was asking for?? At that point I was so frustrated, I just told him I would get someone else to do the work and I thanked him for calling. He said, "OK" and hung up.
