RIVER CITY FENCE

Went very well

After learning about River City Fence from Angie's List, I called the company because I was encouraged by the positive feedback they had received. The owner of the company was very friendly on the phone and we set up an appointment for him to come to our home for a free estimate. He was scheduled to arrive at our home at 9am two days later. At 8:30 am, he called and canceled the appointment citing weather complications at another job site. I called later that same day to reschedule the appointment. He was very apologetic and agreed to come for a free estimate two days later. My husband and I rearranged our schedules in order to make the appointment possible. The owner of River City Fence did not show up for the second appointment and failed to call to cancel. I called him 45 minutes after he failed to show up at the designated appointment time. I told him we found out about his company through Angie's List and were very disappointed that he did not show up to either appointment. His response was that he forgot and had lots of big jobs. When asked if our business was important to him, he avoided the question and said he had a lot of other things going on. He said the fact that he had so many jobs was evidence of the quality of his business. He did apologize for failing to show up, but made no offer to make it up to us and made no overture to try to keep our business. It would have been much more professional for the owner to tell us that he was not interested in doing business during our initial phone conversation rather than agreeing to meet with us for a free estimate and then failing to show up.

The job was to start on Friday, which was the day we moved in to our new home and completed the following Monday. They showed up on time Friday morning and went straight to work. They were also careful to keep their vehicles out of the way of our movers. They worked on Friday without any problems, or even any breaks and left after the first part of the job was completed. They called later on Friday and asked if they could complete the job the next day, Saturday, instead of waiting until Monday, which was wonderful for us (we have two dogs & needed a fence )Saturday morning I woke up and was surprised that they were there already working. They completed the job earlier than we expected and for the original price. Not only was their work and their work ethic above my expectation, but their C/S was wonderful. They were polite & helpful with questions. But most of all they worked, no frills just worked. I would use them again & feel comfortable saying I highly recommend this company.
