Coolray Heating & Air Conditioning

We have a service contract with Coolray Heating Cooling & Plumbing Company since we bought the heating & cooling unit from them. One thing I like about them is that one can actually schedule appointments with them online. That is pretty convenient. Their turn around time for an appointment is pretty good. They respond well to the scheduling and come over once confirmed. The people who come out are very knowledgeable. They make sure that I understand the unit properly. They explain everything to me when they are here for the service. They change the filters in a timely manner and also leave some filters back with me. Their prices are fair. I would continue to use them in the future.

I’ve been really happy with them so far. They are honest, and have never pushed me into a sale. I think they are reliable, and they’ve always been punctual.

Overall, the work went very well with no problems. Tarps were laid everywhere on the wood floors and the technicians all used shoe covers when in the house. Three workmen showed up and one started on the outside unit while the other two worked inside. They had to remove one door to get to the unit but it was replaced perfectly. I was prepared to be there all day, but the job only to.ok about 4 to 5 hours.

It was great. They really stayed on the job and they did what they said they were going to do. The price was exactly what they said it was going to be. The technicians were very skillful. When I asked them to do a little bit extra they told me what it would cost and did it right away with no problems. They were very punctual. They didn't finish the job on schedule as they thought they would so they were back bright and early the next morning to finish it.

The last time around, they did a regular service. They are great. I like their integrity. They are dependable, knowledgeable and honest. They don?t try to oversell me. I spend $250 a year for the service agreement. They have been in business since the 60s. It is a pretty big company, and I think it is a sister company to Mr. Plumber. I would use them again in the future.

They were very good. They were in par with everybody in terms of price, so I really couldn't complain. The quality of their work was very good. They were here, when they said they would be. They were very much professional. I will use them in future. I have my maintenance contracted to them.

perfect. excellent diagnosis, did not try to upsell, in fact tried to find ways to save us money while still giving us great quality. techs that did install were knowledgeable, professional and friendly. everyone was on time. it could not have been a better overall experience. there are cheaper products than trane and i'm sure cheaper installers than coolray, but you get what you pay for and these guys are simply great.

After servicing the upstairs system without incident, I directed the technician to the basement where our 2nd system is located. We have 2 separate systems, 1 for upstairs and 1 zoned system for the other 2 levels. From the minute the technician saw our zoned system in the basement he began to tell me about the problems with zoned systems. All this was before he even walked into the utility room where the system is located. I told him we had not had problems as long as COOLRAY sent technicians properly trained on zoned systems.---[ At this point, I called my wife and told her that we had a different technician than requested and to get ready because the replace unit sales pitch was coming.]---- Like a perfect hollywood script, the technician finished his "inspection" and came back up to tell me the system was old and there might be a leak and that it needed to be replaced. For $XX he could check for a leak and for $XXX dollars he could put in some freon to which I declined both. By the way, the system I am now being told needs to be replaced operated flawlessly without any problem throughout last spring, summer and fall before we needed to switch over to heat. Then he proceeded to advise me that this was our second visit under this contract but that he could renew it for me on the spot and wanted to know what number as best so he could arrange for a sales person to come out and give me an estimate to replace the system. After the whole sales pitch, I felt like I had walked onto a used car lot. He further impugned his credibility with me by then asking me if COOLRAY had installed the unit upstairs which he had already "serviced" . There is ample evidence on the system that it was clearly installed by COOLRAY and I am certain it was in the records he was given before he came to my house. I plan to call COOLRAY and hopefully COOLRAY will send a properly trained technician who is more technical focused and less sales focused. Either way I will be getting a second opinion since I now really question whether my upstairs unit really need replacing last year. To the question would I use them again, I have to at this point because my upstairs unit is under warranty from them but any recommendations from them will always have to be independently validated and If I indeed have to replace my second unit it will very difficult for me to choose COOLRAY because I have been a customer since we built this house in 1997 and for the last 5 to 7 years they seemed more intent on selling than servicing. The song and dance given by today's technician has been consistent whenever any technician other than the ones requested come to our house. I wonder what is the commission that a "technician" gets for selling versus maintaining.

I have a contract with them and I pay about $220 a year. I think they do a really good job and they are really honest. He replaced a couple of parts that weren?t too expensive but were probably needed. I didn?t like the configuration that they did for the quote for a new furnace. I think they are fine about maintaining your furnace, but I?m not so sure that they quote the right system for your house.

The experience was wonderful. We really like them. They aren't pushy. They are professional. They really explain your options and what they will do. They answer all of your questions and return your phone calls. They guarantee their work and products for life, so you feel comfortable going with them. They also have good financing options. They put down paper and totally cleaned up. It's like they weren't ever there. Their prices can be a little more expensive than the competition, but I think it's a fair price.

I think they are national or maybe they have franchises. I have the one year protection plan and that includes two annual maintenances, which is one cooling and one heating. I pay $ 148 for one system and an additional $89 for the second system because I have two, so it is $237 in total. I like that they give me advice about the best way to keep my system up. They also left list of how to clean it and to put in the water for the humidifier and stuck it there.

A person came here six months ago to do the pre-summer check on the system. We switched over to them from another service provider. They are professional and provide very good service.

He put a heat ignitor in, it worked for a day and quit again.

My home was down to 59 degrees and very cool in my home. Due to health concerns, I needed to have someone in my home as soon as possible. They showed up promptly about 45 minutes after my call. They were able to diagnose the problem and fix my furnace quickly.

While they say they have 24 hour emergency service, we called at 7:00 on a Sunday and they said that no one could come by until Monday. Apparently it's up to the technincians to decide whther they will take a call.

My tenant didn't have heat so I turned to this company for an immediate service on a Saturday afternoon. It turned out the pilot (he called it a thermocouple) needed to be re-lit! They were fast and professional but their prices are too high. The service call was $79. With the charge for re-lighting and including a 10% angie's list discount, we paid about $140!! A ridiculous price.

I have been dealing with them for years. They have always taken care of me.

It was a great experience, from the phone call to final service. They response was faster than I expected, especially for a Saturday morning (when other companies had already said that Monday afternoon would be the earliest they could get out to our house). Randy (the technician) was friendly and cheerful, and completed the work quickly. We will certainly call Cool Ray again if we have any other AC problems.

There have been few companies that impressed me more than Coolray. The consultant I dealt with, John Melton was by far the most knowledgeable and I felt he was the most honest. I was comforted by their 5 year money back guarantee and as long as I maintain my Cool Care coverage the unit has a lifetime warranty. The crew that came to do the install (promptly when scheduled) was personal and courteous. I also felt very comfortable leaving them in my home when I went to work. There were a few minor problems that needed to be addressed after the install and I happy to see the after install service was every bit as good as I had previously experienced. Bottom line is that Coolray prices were competitive and their customer focus could not be more on target.

Tech came out, very friendly and knowledgable. He answered every question I had concerning how the units work and the best way to make sure they stay in good shape. I thought one of the lines might have a leak and that was also checked and found not to be the case. I decided to pay for 5 years of service 2 times a year and so received the thermostats as a gift for that. I was very satisfied with the tech as well as with the quality of service. I also very much appreciate this company as it is their policy to call when they are ready to come to the house as this gives me ample time to put my dogs up.

My AC quit during the hottest heatwave thus far in Atlanta. Coolray has done previous work at out home including heating and AC. Their work has always been outstanding. Dale is our normal technician and I was glad to see him for this job as well. He knows everything about heating and AC and he takes the time to inform you of what the problem is every step of the way. He also lets you know what preventive measures/helpful maintance tips you can use to avoid problems in the future. He is down to earth and very efficient. He knew immediately what the problem was and was done in about 30 mintues. That included him washing out the coils. He always does a great job.
