Coolray Heating & Air Conditioning

The technician arrived within the stated time frame and was very professional. It was clear that he had extensive knowledge of heating and air systems and informed me of several additions that would be good for my system that could be provided by our builder through our warranty.

I did a yearly service agreement for around $130.

Al is always very professional and always gets the job done.

Did not clean coils with chemicals on outside A/C unit.

I was shopping for a company to handle the maintenance and servicing of my HVAC units twice a year. Because of the favorable experience with Coolray, I signed up with them. The technician arrived on time and called me on my cell phone in advance so that I did not have to wait at home for him. He investigated inside and outside when I reported a problem with my AC. He found a short in the system and was able to fix that and also discovered the source of water leaking around my HVAC unit.

Earl was the repair man. Earl was very nice, looked at the situation, listened to my concerns, and began work. He quickly found what I had described, which was a problem with the fan. Earl pulled the fan housing and saw it was loose. I expected to have to pay for a new housing but Earl simply tightened the set screw. Earl was nice, cooperative, friendly, and honest. The next time I need A/C service I will call Coolray and ask for Earl. With the free service call coupon, I only had to pay for the labor. I was very happy it was affordable and was fixed 30 minutes after Earl arrived.

We bought our heating and cooling units from them and we have been very satisfied.

I was very happy with all stages of my experience. The salesman was knowledgeable and helped diagnose problems I had been having. The installation guys were on time and seemed very competent. The install took about 3/4 of a day for two people. One minor complaint was that they didn't have the ducting needed for re-running the duct I wanted quieted down, so I had to call to reschedule this part of the work but they wound up not charging me any extra for the duct work so I was very happy anyway. I have purposely waited 2 months to write this review to ensure that everything has been working fine. I would definitely use this company again, and actually did since they also have the Mr. Plumber service. I got a 10% discount because of my service agreement (first year free on new installs).

Servicemen were on time and polite but, inept at their job. The first repairman did not completely check the system for leaks or determine why the circuit breaker had tripped. He restarted the unit and left informing me that I needed an entire new system. Four hours later the unit was down, it had tripped again. A second repairman came put his amp tester on the box and determine unit was pulling too many amps and needed a new compressor in the condenser, cost approx. $2100 with 1 yr. Warranty. At this point I phoned my brother-in-law in Ohio who has owned his own HVAC business for over 20 yrs. A 3 1/2 ton compressor's condenser cost is approx. $500, double the cost for labor, total expected cost $1000, so he felt the price was excessive. I went to a small independent contractor who determined my problem was none of the above, but a faulty GA Power energy box! Coolray would have sold me an entire new system if I were the average uninformed customer!!

They delivered a furnace unit that had a dent in it, and I sent it back. But they brought me a new one, so I thought that was pretty good.

First, Gerald the technician was so friendly and professional. He inspected the furnaces in my attic first to determine the cause of leakage. He explained the problem and that one of the parts on the furnace needed to be replaced, and provided an estimated cost. Then he went outside to inspect the air conditioning units. He filled both units with freon, drain the pipes, and tightened the pipes, etc. Gerald was extremely patient and understanding of my A/C needs. I would definitely use this company's services again, just send Gerald.

Tymo arrived on time and was very professional.

The quote was made on installation of a new system a few days later by staff engineer. The installation was for a total system and no option for minimal systems. The quote was too large and probably not the best option for the household on my budget. I went with another company for installation services.

Maintenance tech (John) arrived on time, and was well groomed, friendly and professional.

They responded initially to evaluate our problem quickly and on time. They diagnosed the problem quickly. They were easy to work with in selecting a replacement unit. They arrived on time for the installation process. They were very thorough, neat, and efficient in removal of old equipment and installation of new equipment. I felt that we purchased quality equipment and got a first class installation job.

Dispatcher was very polite. They called me when he was on his way so I could leave work in time to meet the repair guy. The repair guy was very professional and polite. It was a great experiance all around.

NOT VERY GOOD! Aron, the technician, came on time and worked on the outside unit, cleaning it in case there was dirt clogging it. That did not help, and after consulting with some other techs at Coolray and doing some tests, they came to the conclusion that I either needed a new compressor (i.e.$800) or if that did not work replace the coil inside. However, since my unit is a 10 seer unit, there are no coils available and I would have to up grade(i.e.$2200). Needless to say, I got a second opinion, got it fixed (i.e.$270). There is a piston inside where the coil is that had debris obstructing the flow of freon. He replaced the piston, unclogged the line, recharged the unit with freon, and reduced the pressure on the outside unit from over 400 to under 200. Hello!!!! This whole experience gave me a bad feeling about Coolray and their ethics. Big no,no,no! Makes me wonder how many have been had for bad diagnostics. Very disappointed! Definitely would not recommend.

The service call was scheduled promptly and, as promised, they called in advance so that I could meet the service technician. The Service Technician arrived on time and conducted himself professionally. He diagnosed the problem promptly, described his plan to fix it and provided an accurate forecast of the cost. He completed the repair, to my satisfaction, in short order. They accepted my "Free Service Call" ($79 value) Angie's List Coupon and the total bill was as he reported in advance. An excellent overall experience and seemingly a good value.

THEY WERE VERY COURTEOUS. THEY WERE PROMPT. THERE WAS ONE LITTLE THING THAT THEY MISSED THE FIRST TIME, AND THEN I CALLED THEM. THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM, AND THEY FIXED IT.

THEY ARE VERY, VERY GOOD. WE HAD OUR AIR CONDITIONER GO OUT AND CALLED THEM AT 3:00AM AND THEY CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY WHICH WAS SUNDAY AND DIDN'T CHARGE US ANY EXTRA. WE APPRECIATED THEIR EFFORT TO GET TO US AND HELP US.

THEY WERE ON TIME, THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL, AND THEY HAD A GOOD PRICE. THE APPOINTMENT SETTERS WERE ALL VERY HELPFUL. THEY SET IT UP RIGHT AWAY IN SMALL WINDOWS OF TIME. THE PEOPLE THAT CAME IDENTIFIED THEMSELVES, DID THE WORK PROMPTLY, AND HAD GOOD SENSES OF HUMOR.

HE TOLD ME THAT POTENTIAL PROBLEMS EXISTED THAT I MIGHT NEED TO HAVE ANOTHER SERVICE CALL IN THE FUTURE. HE CAME OUT AS A ONE SHOT SERVICE CALL AND THEN HE GAVE ME A QUOTE ON AN ANNUAL FEE FOR AN ANNUAL CONTRACT WHICH SAVES 15% ON SERVICE CALLS. I KNEW HE HAD DONE HIS HOMEWORK. IT WAS Easy AND I FELT REASSURED THAT MY FURNACE HAD BEEN CHECKED OUT. BASICALLY I JUST WANTED HIM TO CHECK THINGS OUT. THE TERMS THAT HE USED IN DESCRIBING THE WORK HE HAD DONE LET ME KNOW HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING.

We have used them for many years in different homes we have lived in around Atlanta. They are reliable and easy to deal with. We also bought a new furnace and HVAC for one our homes from them and were extremely pleased.

The appointment staff was very friendly and promptly, no complaints there, but the technician was arrogant and hesitant in servicing my old units, in the end trying to sell me new units from his own employer. He refused to service one unit where the blower was about to go out (a fact I knew, but he was not hired for repair) stating that he could not do maintenance on that. When asked if he would repair it, he refused to do that, because the system was too old, not knowing that I had AHS for repairs anyways. When I mentioned this fact he said, good luck with it, they repair things to the death. The next morning both units were NOT working, the one that was working fine for the last 5 years I lived here was suddenly dead, a fuse went out, which I find very strange after working perfectly for so many years. When I reported all this to the service manager, he listened to it, but after finding out that I would use AHS for repairs and not their own company he hang up on me.

DID A GOOD JOB AT A GOOD PRICE. I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THE REBATE WAS A HOME DEPOT GIFT CASH CARD. THEY DID VENT A NEW PIPE DIRECTLY OUT OF THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE WITHOUT MY APPROVAL. THAT WAS NOT GOOD THINKING.
