Arrived exactly on time. Very pleasant. Worked in the rain and mud and handled the unexpected problems without complaint. Advised us about options and costs. Made recommendations based on their experience with the situation. Got the job done the same day by staying until after 6 pm the day before a holiday. Price was as quoted in the beginning with no "hidden" costs. Also helpfully told us how to get credit from county utilities for wasted gallons (and gallons!) of water. A very enjoyable experience considering the situation. Will definitely use them again!

My home air conditoner quit working in the middle of the HOT Atlanta summer. After having four contractors give estimates, I decided on Reliable Heating & Air. This was my first experience with Reliable. The estimator, Tim, came to my house the day after I called, was very professional and thorough in his review of the situation and in his estimate. He never tried to give me the "hard-sell" routine or steer me into what he wanted to sell but, instead, proposed several options and answered my questions honestly and objectively. His price was in the same ballpark with the other contractors, but the combination of his open and honest communications, Reliable's guarantee, along with the positive reviews from Angie's list made the sale for me. The day after we agreed on a full system (a/c & furnace) Tim discovered the furnace I wanted would not be available for several weeks, so he offered to upgrade to a much better unit at the same price. Since we didnt' reach agreement until mid-afternoon, there would be a day's delay while the new units were ordered and the installation crew scheduled, so Tim offered to have a couple of window units installed to help beat the heat inside the house. Tim continued to stay in touch throughout the process and called back a couple of days after the installation to ensure everything was working to my satisfacton. The installers, Jorge and Matt, were outstanding! They phoned about an hour before they arrived, and were right on time, They were extremely professional in appearance, demeanor, and in their work which was done very well with attention to detail and thoroughness. They worked hard all day long and kept me in the loop as they went, ensuring I was satisfied with what they were going to do before they actually did the work. This has been the best experience I've ever had with a contractor in over 30 years of home ownership! I'm very hopeful Reliable's post-sale service and repair are up to the same standard.

The install went well. Mike Cook and Brett Byrn were very professional and pleasant. They seemed to know their stuff and work relentlessly all day to make sure the job was done well. I would hire them again.

These folks are awesome - from Kyle in sales to Mike and crew in installation, the process was seamless. Mike is a complete perfectionist and did not leave my home until everything was absolutely perfect. I love my new Trane system and look forward to working with Reliable for years to come.

Contacted Reliable Wednesday afternoon to request service. Rep said they could come that night, but it would be later. Rep later called and cancelled appointment due to rain in area. The service tech showed up next day around lunch, checked breaker, and opened service panel on outdoor unit. Said compressor was blown out and would need to be replaced. Said he would get us a price to repair it. Wife paid for service call and tech left. Did not receive quote, so I called Friday morning and was told she could not promise I would get a price that day; it would probably be Monday before I received the quote, and that service would take place 5 - 10 days after I accepted the quote. I cancelled the quote. By comparison I called another company, who showed up within 3 hours at the exact time promised. They looked at the system provided a firm quote to repair it onsite. I accepted the quote and the tech called the office to ensure they had parts in stock and schedule the repair service for the next morning.

Title: It took multiple visits and almost 2 months to get my new Trane mini split heat pump installed then fixed. Short Version: Reliable employs very nice people but has significant issues with their estimate and installation service on the ductless Trane mini split heat pump. The estimate was wrong even though I was very clear on what I wanted done. The installers were 2 hours late. The unit was installed incorrectly which caused major leak issues. It took almost two months and 7 appointments to get it fixed. They tried to sneak in an additional $225 charge on the invoice (I assume to recoup some of the loss on their mistakes). I would not recommend Reliable if you are looking for a hassle free experience or installation of a ductless mini split heat pump. Complete Story: My experience with Reliable has been an exercise in patience. After significant research and getting 2 other estimates I hired them to install the Trane 12MBH mini split heat pump to be installed on Saturday May 11, 2013. The initial visit in April for the estimate went very well. I was very clear in my expectations and confident in the sales person and the product offered seemed to fit my needs. The problems began when the installers arrived 2 hours late for our appointment and it has been a saga since then. First, the installers informed me that my estimate did not cover any drywall work or paint to repair the wall once they tore it out for the new unit. This surprised me since I was emphatic with the salesman that I wanted an estimate for the entire job start to finish, including repair of the wall. I finally had to ask to speak to the owner of the company that morning. They never allowed me to speak with the owner but they said he decided it was the salesman?s fault and allowed them to commence the install without increasing the total price (or so I was told). The guys who did the install were very nice and really worked hard to get the job done since they were late. Unfortunately, as I would find out later, they had little to no experience with installing that particular model and brand of heat pump. I used the a/c unit all day Sunday but then at about 10pm that evening I stepped in a huge puddle of water on my way downstairs. Sure enough, the unit was pouring (not dripping) water down the wall and onto my hardwood flooring. I turned the unit off and called Reliable first thing Monday morning to send a tech out. The tech (who also had no experience with that particular make and model) assured me it was a humidity issue and that it should resolve itself. I was skeptical but turned the unit back on. Two days later the same thing happened. From May 13, 2013 to June 15, 2013 I had multiple visits from different technicians. The unit was not usable for longer than a few hours at a time during this entire ordeal. Eventually, I started asking the techs about replacing the unit. It was obvious no one knew what was wrong or how to fix it. At this point I got fed up and called again to reach the owner. This time I did not take no for an answer. The owner was very apologetic and assured me they would take care of it on the next visit. They ended up sending out the customer service manager. Also, a very nice guy. He visited my home 3 times over the next few weeks. It was during one of these visits I learned that the Trane mini split was reletively new to the market and that Reliable had little to no experience installing them. Finally, after a total of 7 visits to my home it was determined that the original installers had not located the unit correctly on the wall which was then causing drainage issues. They scheduled another appointment and moved the unit which I am relieved to report fixed the problem. The last issue, the one that caused me to write this review, was when I got my bill on July 15th. They had slipped in an ambiguous charge of $225 to my bill without ever discussing it or explaining it. After all the time wasted (multiple apointments including on Saturdays )and headaches they caused, I am exasperated to say the least. I realize this additional charge was more than likely to make up for what the salesman lost on the drywall or to recoup some of the cost for the 7 additional visits to my home over the last 2 months but those issues were not my fault and I refused to pay for their lack of expertise and mistakes. After yet another contact with the office they agreed there was no justification for the charge and amended my bill to reflect the original estimate from April 20th. I requested the owner contact me regarding the matter the same day. Still no response 3 days later. To say it has been an ordeal is an understatement. I?ve been patient and reserved throughout but others should know about this experience. I am quite disappointed that Reliable did not measure up to the good ratings I had viewed during my research. I hope this review helps others to make a more informed decision.

We have bought two Trane systems from them. They were excellent. Everything from the sales person through the complete installation was outstanding. They did a great job. We couldn't even tell, they had been there although when we had the new units on the attic. We got new furnaces and air conditioners so they had to put two furnaces up in the attic and take the old ones down. Then fixed the two air conditioning units outside and all the work was done excellent. Cleanup was good and they gave us good instructions on how to use the unit. We were very pleased. We got three estimates and we thought the price was good. They were on time.

I would strongly recommend the team from Reliable! It started with the crew contacting us that they would be arriving within 30 minutes of our first calling the office and us receiving an e-mail including the technician's name and picture- what a great feature! John Crum and his partner were patient and professional and explained all the ins and outs of the possible solutions to my wife. We were deciding whether to replace our rusted out gas water heater with an electric Marathon heater and wanted to consider all the up-front and long term costs and benefits. In the end we went with the gas heater and John also measured the water pressure in the house and found that the pressure might be getting high because of a pressure control valve that was probably installed in 1971 when the house was built! They added that service on and were still finished in just a few hours. They left the house looking just like it did before they arrived (except with the water back on and a functional water heater!). We would certainly have them come back again for any other services we may need.

Our upstairs HVAC system was not cooling when we started to use it this summer. I've used other HVAC services in the past but called Reliable based on their high reviews in AngiesList and other review sites. They answered promptly and scheduled a technician to come out for a diagnostic service. Their technician arrived promptly as scheduled and thoroughly examined my 26+ year old system. He found a leaking evaporator coil had caused the system to lose its refrigerant charge. Based on the age and condition of the cooling and heating system he recommended replacing both the AC and furnace with new, more efficient systems. We discussed several alternative systems and he provided a range of estimates. After reviewing the estimates and doing some additional research I contacted Reliable to accept one of the estimates and schedule the replacement. Two technicians arrived on time, put down coverings to protect the floors, and got to work quickly. They were friendly, courteous, professional and easy to work with, answering any questions I had. They got the old systems disconnected and removed without any issues and proceeded to install the new systems. The new systems were installed in less time than I anticipated and they left my home in as good or better shape than when they started, not to mention being a lot cooler! I was very pleased with with the quality of work done and plan to continue to use Reliable in the future.

I called Reliable Heating & Air to tell them that we were going to go with the quote that their sales person had given us. Kim was very kind and professional and told me that they would be out to our house on the morning of June 19th to install the two AC units. On Tues the 18th, someone from Reliable called to confirm the appointment. He said the installation team would be at our house between 9:30-9:45am and that they estimated that the job would take 3 1/2 hours to complete. I took off that morning and told my co-worker that I would be into the office soon after lunch. At 11:00am I had not seen or heard from anyone at Reliable Heating & Air. I called their office and explained the situation. The receptionist apologized and transferred me to the Installation Manager, Greg. I told him that we had been using another company for 22 years and had just switched to Reliable Heating & Air, but this was not a very good start. Greg said that he showed that I was on the schedule for the afternoon! I told him no, that I had been told by two different people that I would be on the morning schedule and that the person who confirmed that said that they would be there between 9:30-9:45am.. He said he would need to look into it and would call me back. He even said to give him a few minutes to find out what had happened. To make a very long story shorter, Greg NEVER called me back. The installation guys showed up around 1;15pm. They were very apologetic and went right to work. They worked all afternoon and into the evening. In fact, they didn't leave our house until 11:50pm!! They were very nice and did a good job. But the fact that no one ever called me back about the scheduling problem left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Reliable was at my house all day and made sure everything was right before they left. They were professional and knowledgeable from start to finish. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I called Reliable for a quote after I decided to replace my furnace. Their representative, Darryl Baker made an excellent presentation of his estimates and took all the time I wanted to answer questions and discuss details. He gave me information on several options and the advantages of each. I called a couple weeks later and arranged an installation date. The installers, Gary and Dustin were on time, took care to protect the carpets (raining at the time the arrived) and went over the proposal again to be sure we had the same information. They did the work, cleaned up and hauled away the old materials in a matter of a few hours. They were professional in every way.

They were on time, respectful, helpful and corrected the issue.

They came out the same day as I called but I had to wait forever for them to get there. When the tech arrived he diagnosed the issue in 5 minutes but did not have the part on the truck. Said he had to order it and they would call me in a day or two to scheduled. Quoted $472 for the repair. Then he charged me $125 to be there and tried to sell me a service agreement. A couple days later I still had not heard from anyone there. So I called, they had no record of my service, no record of my part, no record of my payment. They put me on hold forever and I hung up. I called another company who was not able to fit me in that day but came out first thing the next morning. They had the part on the truck, charged me 1/2 what this company was going to charge and I was finally cool again! I would not recommend this company.

I love everything about my experience. They were so friendly, punctual, thorough, and the cost was way better than I thought it would be. I also used an Angie's List $10 off coupon. I don't know what he did to my a/c unit, but it runs like it is supposed to, now. And also, he fixed my digital thermostat problem. It kept shutting itself off when it was still hot inside, and he did something outside to make it stop doing that. I slept soundly for the first time in months because it stayed cool all night. I love these guys and I will always call them. I picked them out of an Angie's List search.

I have used this company a number of times and they have always been solid. Quick to respond and always reliable. Good company. Only giving a B on professionalism as accounting team seems to drop the ball a lot. Meaning I ask for invoices and never get them. Have to call a few times.

The fan belt was on backwards, the majority of the money. home insurance added coolant. leaked all over the yard. paid the bill because we had to but, i've written letters-no response and i've talked to 3 different people there--said upfront we wouldn't have to pay for the visit because of the fan belt but then, they didn't even keep up to that part of the deal because they quit communicating to me.

My old A/C unit died on 6/02/13. The freon leaked out. So, I decided on a new A/C unit with the new refrigerant, since freon is becoming more scarce and expensive. Reliable has been doing my heating & A/C maintenance for the last 10 years, so I called for an appointment with their A/C salesman. I was quite surprised that a real person answered the phone at 7:30 PM on Monday, 6/3/13 when I got home from work. The salesman (Tim M) arrived on-time at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, 6/5/13. He was friendly and professional and did not try to sell me "more" A/C than I needed. And of course I asked if the unit could be installed ASAP,--he made no promises, but would try to get it installed quickly. I got a call from Reliable at 6 PM, Thursday 6/6/13, saying the installation crew was on their way. The two man crew (Jeremy H., Mike K.) were kind, courtious, and very professional arriving at 7PM. By 8:30 PM I had air conditioning again. Literally, 24 HOUR SERVICE. Absolutely unbelievable. And, yes, Reliable will be doing all my heating and A/C work for many years to come.

Installers Greg McDaniel and Tyson Wood worked very hard to install a complete heat pump heating and cooling system in my attic. They had to raise/reduct the air handler to give the condensate line more slope. They also had to reduct the area over my attic fan in order to install a tent over it. Neither of these snags had been quite anticipated by the sales person; taking care of this stuff required additional materials and labor, but McDaniel and Wood didn?t strenuously object or try to change the price. Another company?s estimate for a 2-ton Carrier unit was about $4,300. With Reliable, I was able to get a 2-ton Trane/Puron system, as well as energy-saving tents for both the attic stairwell and whole-house fan, for about the same price. One disappointment: Previous homeowners had destroyed so much sheetrock behind the old thermostat that when Reliable?s installers went to put in the new one, they couldn?t secure the screw. As a result, the thermostat is now just hanging there by its wires. (It?ll stay that way until I get around to fixing it, which could be a loooong time.) In a perfect world, Reliable would basically say, ?You?re paying us a mountain of cash here. We?ll make sure every part of the installation is perfect, right down to the thermostat.? Just to be clear, I understand that professional HVAC installers aren?t sheetrock experts, and in no way did I expect them to somehow fix the messed-up wall. Only after the job was over did it occur to me that Reliable could ramp up its customer service even more by empowering its installers to say, ?We can?t fix this, but we?ll get our repair work guy out here to make this right ASAP.? When you write an eye-popping, $4,300 check, it?s disappointing to have the thermostat hanging by its wires. But again, that?s not the installers? fault. They came back out and installed a back plate and the termostat is now attatched properly to the wall.

This was an excellent professional experience. Tim McWaters was great to work with. He took the time to explain the options to me and recommended a system that would best fit for my furnace system. The pricing was very competitive for a Trane systems. I had travel the following week, Tim and Team at Reliable was able to work in my installation the very next day. That was such a relief to get this done and early than expected. The installation team of Rob and Fernando did an awesome job. Very professional and very contentious. Rob took the time to explain what he was doing. To the entire Reliable Team, thank you for a excellent experience.

We just bought a new house and wanted to have a gas line plumbed to accommodate my gas dryer. The first time they were scheduled to come out for an estimate, they had to rescheduled at the last minute because they were running late. We did have to pay a $35.00 estimate fee when they came out the next day. Most of the other plumbers, we called for an estimate, gave free estimates. We felt the price was a little steep since we already had gas in the house. The reason we choose them, was that they were recommended by the former owner and they had done work on the house before.

They replaced the HVAC Systems. They were competitively priced and very professional. If I had to do it all over again I would.

They didn't fix anything. They were very polite but he just didn't do the work.
