Called Empire on Wednesday and scheduled the appointment for Saturday so my daughter could be there. They were very helpful on the phone and explained their company's maintenance program. I signed up for the annual maintenance ($154) program for our condo in Atlanta. The technician's visit on Saturday was fantastic. He called ahead to my daughter to tell her the time he would be there and when he got there (right on time), he talked her through all of his actions and answered all of her questions to her satisfaction. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad condensor and replaced the part with a new one ($93). My daughter was extremely pleased with his calling ahead and getting there on time, as she has had bad experiences in the past with other deliveries and services. She could not say enough good about Empire. She was happy we chose them to take care of her A/C. Empire quickly sent us documentation for the maintenance agreement and the service invoice at our Decatur Alabama address. Payment was quick and easy right over the phone. Thank you Empire.

It was a simple fix; the line on the outside was kinked. I used them a couple of years ago when I needed two A/C units installed. They were moderately priced but they were the only company that informed me that my A/C unit was still under warranty and could be fixed. We got new units anyway because we knew that we had to, but I appreciated their honesty, their professionalism, and the lack of high-pressure sales. They are just really reliable and I think they have smart technicians. They have been in the business for many years and I like that they always send out the same technicians.

I emailed Empire late at night and left a message and they got back to me the next day, and arranged for service the following day. Their serviceman came out, checked a few things, and fixed it all in less than 30 minutes. He was professional, cool and knowledgeable. All in all, the experience is exactly what you'd want out of it. The price was pretty much what I expected. Thanks, Empire.

I can't report much since my mother was the person who was at home at the time of service. She said he checked thermostats and spent a while checking out all the units. The bottom line for me - the air conditioner was working when he was done.

Our air conditioners met up with the copper thieves. Fortunately, my husband and dogs go out VERY early and were able to stop him before too much damage was done. Mac Beeler told us we were very lucky. When the copper is stolen, the entire unit is damaged and has to be replaced. Mac Beeler was about 30 min. later than the time frame we were given. However, we got a phone call telling us about the delay. He was very helpful and explained exactly what he was doing. THe thieves had also taken out the unit screws so he could steal the aluminum fans. These screws were missing and Mac replaced these with some that he had and some we had.

Our AC compressor died upon returning from a week away. We knew we would have to replace our system at some point because it was VERY old. We have a 2 story, true split level home and always had problems with regulating temperature in the summer and winter as the thermostat was located on the lower level. In replacing a system, we wanted this problem to go away. Empire could have quoted other name brands however we went with the Amana system because it has a lifetime warranty on several parts to the original purchaser and 10 yr warranty that can be transferred to any subsequent homeowner. Empire threw in 3 yr labor and maintenance plan which is also transferrable. Empire was only company to quote a 3 ton system originally. When I questioned the sales guy on it he came back out and saw that he had missed 2 ducts. He changed to a 4 ton system with no price increase. I was very pleased with their service - on time, no hassle and seem to really know their stuff - from the sales process through the implementation. The install team raved about the zoning system and told me about the improvements that have been made in the technology in recent years. I talked with the install team on a daily basis and learned a lot about HVAC systems. They always were friendly and open to answering my questions about what was going on with the installation. As I am a detail oriented person and this was a large change to our home systems, I wanted to understand as much as possible. Our other option was to install 2 separate systems and after living with a zoned system for a few days I believe we made the right decision. We have worked with a lot of contractors to do various projects around the home. We have gone with the cheapest price and regretted it. We typically go with the middle of the road price but also who we feel will do what they say they're going to do, when they say they're going to do it and stand behind their work. Empire met all of these expectations. After the system was turned on the first time, I froze on both levels and am now in the process of finding the right temperature. Problems solved!

We have been using Empire for about 8 years now for annual maintenance, and one air duct renovation. They always do a great job. There was one time that Empire did not respond in a timely manner for us (about 3 years ago). Lo and behold, the Prez of the company, Martin Hoover, showed up at our door to make things right! Call 'em: Empire will take good care of you.

They did a great job. The guy who came out was a very experienced person. He did a complicated job and he did a great job. I would highly recommend them. I would use their services again in the future.

Empire Heating & Air Conditioning did a fine job, but they were a little expensive. My furnace works just fine now. Empire charged $85 just for the service call which was slightly disappointing.

The people of Empire were completely professional in all my dealings with them, from estimate through completion. The work was performed at a time of my choosing. The team appeared at precisely the time agreed upon and worked continuously until the entire job was completed. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and assiduous in their actions to make certain that everything was removed, installed, tested, cleaned up, and demonstrated. There was absolutely nothing for me to when they left, which is unusual when having people working in your home. I would be proud to recommend Empire to anyone needing an HVAC system.

I called to see if someone could come look at my AC since it suddenly stopped working. They came out within an hour and a half and had my AC back up in no time. The service tech was super nice and seemed to genuinely care about his work. I purchased an annual service agreement from them.

When I made my initial service call, I was concerned, as they were late to their appointment. However, they more than made up for it with the quality of the service once they got to my place. They were incredibly responsive and thorough throughout the process. The only recommendation I would have is if they are running late in the future, they have someone from their office call and notify the people of this.

Service response was excellent. Mac Beeler made the initial service call the same day I called (Monday July 12) and was able to get the failing unit to work. This fix was intended to be temporary and worked fine until a replacement unit was installed 4-days later. We paid $253 for a two system maintenance agreement instead of paying a service call fee, parts, materials and labor. The maintenance agreement fee was applied to the cost of purchasing the replace AC unit. Chris Adolph visit two days later to determine the options we had for replacing the AC unit that would fit our existing furnace, an 8-year old Trane unit. Working with Chris was very straight forward. Initially, he deducted only part of the maintenance agreement fee, since that fee was for both our independent upstairs and downstairs HVAC systems. The next day, I asked that the entire maintenance agreement fee be deducted since the service call was only for the downstairs unit and he agreed without hesitation. I was able to approve the revised work proposal over the telephone and arranged for 12-month no-interest financing via FAX. The installation of the new AC unit was scheduled for Friday, July 12 and Mac returned with a co-worker, Rod, that morning. The installation involved the removal of the old coil unit connected to the furnace, installing a new coil unit and building the sheet metal duct work to connect to the furnace. Outdoors, the old compressor and fan unit were removed and a new unit installed on a new pad. Mac and Rod were very mindful of keeping the house clean while doing their work. They removed all the old materials and cleaned-up at the end of the job. Their work was excellent. The new system worked flawlessly and without any detectable new odors. I could not have been more pleased with the work and the end results.

Initially, I simply wanted my heating and a/c inspected so that I could turn them on when necessary. Two technicians came on the date and at the time I asked. I only caught the name of one of them. Sorry. Actually, I did not realize that I was only getting the a/c checked. Apparently, these are 2 separate jobs. So I paid another $79 to have the furnace checked. It worked, but the technician, Dave, said that it was very old and not reliable.(I had been told the same by the home inspector before I moved in.) He explained about the tax credit I could get if I had a more energy efficient furnace/a/c installed and how it would save me money within a couple of years. The cost of the service that day would be deducted from the price of the new units. I had not really been considering it, but it sounded very reasonable to me and would obviously add to the value of the house. The technician called the salesagent, Chris, who came out the next day and worked out a proposal for me. I accepted it, and the following week two technicians - Keith and Damien - came and worked non-stop all day to get both units installed. It seemed to me to be very heavy work, and it was a hot day, but they were great and barely stopped the whole day. Keith also took my broom and brushed up after himself in the attic. A dropcloth was laid on the stairs, and they cleaned up my patio after using it for their tools and materials. I also have a year's maintenance agreement with the company. The salesagent had also given me the information I needed to claim the tax credit (a form for next year's tax time) and rebate information to be filled online. Less than a month later, I already had my $300 rebate from AGL. I was sent a thank you card for my business and a surprise gift! If I have one concern, it is that my invoice was dated and sent the day before the work actually took place. I just thought that was a little tacky. Otherwise, a great company, great employees, and great work completed.

Last year we had to replace our old AC and fill with new freon. When we tried to use the air again it just did't work so we figured we had a leak and needed more. Cedric came out to help us with our problem. We had put in a new thermostat and the wires were loose. He fixed that problem for us as well as taking a look at the furnace to make sure it didn't look out of the ordinary (we have only had the house a year and it had a new furnace). All of this at no extra charge. He filled our AC with freon and gave us a detailed quote for when and if we wanted to fix the leak.

It went well. They are very knowledgable and courteous.

We did not end up using this company after the quote. The reason we did not use this company was because they were asking for too much money for the work we needed to have done. Other than the price they were still very professional and punctual.

It went well. It took them about 15 minutes to replace. I just thought the price for the tank was high.
