Empire Heating & Air Conditioning

On Saturday, June 30 (4 PM), when the temperature hit 106 degrees, I got a call from a tenant complaining that the A/C quit working. I had recently put this rental house under a maintenance contract with Empire Heating & Air. I was fearing a very long wait for the tenant knowing that it was a Saturday afternoon, and that it was hottest ever recorded. I was shocked when the tenant called to tell me that the Empire technician arrived 45 minutes after the initial call. In less than 2 hours after the tenant first called, Empire had the A/C running (they replaced a bad starting capacitor)! I (and the tenant) couldn't be any happier with Empire's performance.

I had been out of town for a few days this past weekend and arrived home on Sunday afternoon to find that my A/C had quit working. It was over 100 degrees outsided and 90 degrees inside my condo. I immediately started calling A/C service providers and had a very difficult time getting anyone to come out, return a call or answer the phone. The ones I did speak to, would not come out until thursday. However, Empire saved the day! I was able to leave a message on their emergency line and someone called back within 5 minutes and set up an appointment for a technician to come out that day within a few hours of my call.The technician was fantastic! Even though he had worked all day since 7am and it was now after 5pm in 100 degree wither, he was very pleasant and fun to work with. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly and fix it within a short period of time. He even suggested some things I could do in the future to help my unit run better without using any high pressure sales tactics. I have told many that he was my "Angel of Mercy" on a day that was extremely hot! Thank you, thank you Empire! I will definately use you all again in the future!

air conditioning stopped working on Sunday 6/24. Called to make appointment, left message and promptly a person called back and set appointment for Monday 6/25 between 9 and 11 in the morning. They arrived between 9:30 and 10. Checked the system, explained the problem and proceeded to repair. Very professional.

What started off as a hot water heater replacement turned into an airconditioning and ductwork issue! I thought the hot water heater was leaking so I had it replaced by another company. In order for the new hot water heater to be up to code it meant having ductwork redone and so I called Empire. It turns out it was actually the AC that was leaking. Chris from Empire came out and was awesome. He redid the venting/ductwork which was difficult since this is a loft unit and stopped the leaking. A few days later the AC was leaking again and Chris came back within 2 hours of being called and fixed it. This is a very old unit and should be replaced but I am trying to hold on to it for now! When I finally do replace it I will be calling Empire and Chris once again.

I called Empire and Chris called me back. We set up an appointment and he arrived on time. We discussed several options and decided upon a system that fit my wants and price point. We set up an install date. The installers arrived on time and performed a great job installing the products. Empire replace my whole HVAC system. AC, Furnace, Coil and external filter assembly. The employees were professional and performed a clean install. The quality of their workmanship was great. I am very pleased with the results.

The guy was really nice. Did a great job. Even sucked the water out with a siphon ... gross... but he did it..

They were great. They set up an appointment when I called and arrived on time. The technician explained what he was doing and explained the issue and what it would take to fix it. He did everything in the one visit.

The air conditioner was blowing hot air. I called Empire because they has such a good rating on Angie's list. Eric was the technician who came out and he was on time, very professional and seemed to really care that he got my system fixed correctly. He found the quick issue, no coolant, and then began to look for the bigger issue as to why I did not have any coolant. Once he was done, we rescheduled to have him come back and do a service call on the other unit. Eric came back, checked and serviced that unit and rechecked the one he looked at before. I will definitely call Empire again.

I had an old A/C system that used R22 coolant. My coil began leaking and as a result my A/C stopped working. Due to the rising cost of freon I elected to have a new system installed that uses the new, environmentally friendly coolant. I could not be more happy with Empire. They came to my house, evaluated my system, gave me all my options, and sat down and gave me a quote right on the spot. The quote was very fair and competitive with the other quotes I received. The workers arrived on time and got the job done to my satisfaction. I would recommend them to anyone looking to do A/C or heating work as they were straight forward, honest, and performed quality work. Thanks Empire!

Our air conditioner stopped working after it was turned on without removing the cover over the outside system. We got several estimates from other air conditioning companies all in the thousands of dollars range and then found Empire on Angie's List. When a technician at Empire spoke with us on the phone, he suggested several economical possibilities for our air conditioner problem. The service technician arrived after many calls from the dispatcher because he was arriving later than promised. The technican then diagnosed the problem quickly and accurately and for a reasonable price. He repaired the problem immediately and was finished in about an hour. Because of their honesty and efficiency we woud use them anytime.

They serviced two of my homes. They did very good.

They were good. The young man that came first told us what we needed and everything. He was real knowledgeable and he explained everything. We are really happy with the unit we got compared to what we had. It is so much better. We got a bigger unit. We don’t know anything about air conditioners. They could have lied to us so easily the way mechanics do. I don’t remember how much it cost. It wasn’t cheap. We get what we pay for. We would use them again in the future if needed.

Our heating systems was not working. I called 3 companies from the Angie's list website Wednesday. Empire Heating & Air Conditioning was the only company that I actually wanted to come out to look at our heating issue. Their price was very reasonable. The receptionist was SUPER NICE. She advised the service call would be a FLAT RATE of $88 and that they would not do any work without our approval first. I set an appointment for a technician to visit us on Thursday between 8:30am to 9am. Billy was here 8:30am on the dot! He got straight to work. I would definitely recommend this company to EVERYONE. Empire Heating & Air Conditioning is very professional, knowledgeable, punctual, reasonably priced & trustworthy. After Billy left, I called them to tell them what a great experience I had. The receptionist is actually a co-owner and she was very thankful that we took the time to call her back. Thank you very much!

They were great about everything and we were very pleased.

It was excellent. I signed an agreement with them to check my system twice. They were personable, friendly, and prompt. They followed through with the appointment time, they called to tell me that he was on his way, the guy was very professional, and it was an all around great experience.

They are very accomdating and have my best interest in mind. He showed me how to do it. He gave me a lot of knowledge and I appreciated it. He recommended I change the furnace but he said it wasn't necessary. I appreciated that and I felt comfortable with them.

Empire quoted a reasonable price for the work I wanted and finished on time and on budget. The workers showed up when they were supposed to, worked hard, were obviously qualified and left the premises as clean or cleaner than when they started. I recommend them highly.

They responded promptly and the technician was professional and courteous and helpful. The repairs were made that day. All around excellent!

I had them come out to do annual maintenance on the air conditioner. He told me I had a leak in the system. I called back the people that installed the system for me the year before and they came and said there was nothing wrong with it. I had the company come back and the owner laughed at me. I told him there was nothing to be laughing about and there was no leak according to the other company.

This was an Angies Big Deal coupon service. Dave arrived on time as promised, is very professional and explained the few things that need a correction. Offered a service agreement for $159. Overall an A+ service. We will keep Empire as our go to AC repair and service provider.

After having my AC installed by a private contractor,the upstairs unit stopped working. I could not get this contractor to initially call me back and he had also been out once and failed to fix this same problem. This time, in addition to not getting cold, there was frozen condensation (?) at the condenser and the line going up to the furnace in the crawl space. They called prior to the technician's arrival. He arrived within the time they said he would. He was very professions. The technician advised me that they would charge the $88.00 service fee, along with $169.00 to check the one unit for leaks. I thought with that type of price there would be a thorough check of both units, removing parts, etc. However, he just took this wand device and ran it over the area around the furnace, the connection and attachment on the condenser and at the connector where the line goes up to the furnace (in the crawl space). It did not take long at all. He advised me that there was a leak around the furnace due an installation error by the previous contractor and that they would charge $728.00 to repair it. I did not use them to do the work, because I was finally able to speak with the previous contractor and he said he would come to repair the leak. The technician who came out was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable of the system. He even told me what to look for to ensure the contractor does the job correctly this time. It was a pleasant experience. However, I feel that the amount they charge for the service call and to check for leaks was a bit steep. If they ever come down on their prices, I would definitely use them again.
