They were very responsive in fitting me in, when I called to say my AC wasn't cooling as much as it should. I wish I was told on the first call however to turn off the AC until the inpector ame. He figured out the blower was bad and replaced, however couldn't check the coolant because that part froze over. he said I would have to let that melt and then turn it on to see if there were other problems. Sure enough the problem wasn't totally fixed, and I had to pay about $61 for the second service call. If they had told me on the first call to leave the AC off, it could have been done all at once and I wouldn't have had to pay for two service calls. Overall however, I am pretty satisfied with the following: 1) getting inspectors out to me the same day 2) the inspector was a straight shooter and told me how it is, no BS 3) the quality of the work was excellent

Went fine. Technician was very competent and took the time to explain.

There was no cost. We have an agreement with them. The workers were professional and nice. We have used them for probably a year. Their price was better than for competitors.

I called and explained I had a clogged condensate line that had a leak in it and that I expected it needed to be replaced. The provider showed up, confirmed what I had thought was the problem but did not fix it. He quoted a price of $400-500 to get someone else to come out to install it. Then he charged me $88 for the visit even though they are listed on this site that they provide free estimates. I was uncertain when I agreed to pay and then looked it up later and saw that I had recalled correctly that they provide free estimates. I am not happy with this provider. UPDATE: The company called and refunded the $88 service fee which is appreciated and I have raised my overall rating and Professionalism rating as a result of this action.

Poor guy had to go into crawl space. Turns out that filter had been sucked into the fan causing the cooling problem. Simple as replacing the filter.

I called the company and requested the company go out and take a look at the AC compressor at my home. I stated in the call that it was the likely the fan because it was stuck and would not move. I had it replaced years ago for the exact same reason. The technician back then had told me , to watch out if it happens again. This is one of the prime tricks of the trade for not so honest proividers to tell you the entire unit is shot and sell you a multi thousand dollar new unit. Well they told the tenant and me the unit is old and shot, needs to be replaced. Said he would get sales to quote me on a new one. I called a second service provider and told them the same thing. He verified it was the fan motor had seized. Replaced the motor and the compressor fired right up and no isses in the last coupe of days since it was installed. Saved the majority of the multi thousand dollar replacement unit. Integrity, No Way!

Hi, I purchased the "Duct Blaster Duct Leakage Testing Service Only $99!" from Empire Heating & Air Conditioning on June 8, 2014. I called them on June 11 to schedule the service appointment for June 17. But then on June 17, they informed me that that service is not offered during the summer, and I'd have to wait until the fall. Furthermore, my account says the coupon expired on June 7, 2014 (i.e. the date before i bought it). While that expiration date is probably a typo/programming error, this has turned out to be quite a hassle, so I would rather just get a refund on this deal. Best regards, Andrew Kim

Pretty well, the tech did all he could to repair the unit. A part had to be ordered and it took a few days to get it.

Everything went well. Technician was very professional and everything looked great!

The air-conditioner was leaking and they came out and looked at it. They tried to up sell me a new system. They were professional and efficient, I don't have any negative things to say about them. They offered me a special to replace it five months later. I did end up replacing it but not with them.

Found I was low on Freon and supplied the needed amount Also replaced capacitor

I do not remember the reapirmans name but I do remember that he was on time and friendly courteous and told my son Was happy with the work he had done will recommend this company to anyone..

After we bought the service from Angie's List, Empire Heating & Air Conditioning called us within a few hours to schedule the appointment. What surprised me most was that they were able to come out and do the inspection that same day! The technician arrived promptly that afternoon as scheduled. The service we bought was for a seasonal inspection. He also checked the components and safety controls, plus performed a full operational test. The technician inspected both of our A/C units and gave us some advise about them and how to make them last a little longer, plus he recommended a leak search. In addition, he also explained the financing options if we wanted to get a new A/C unit as ours are probably on their last legs. We did need to get 3 pounds of refrigerant added, which the technician was able to do while he was here. Overall, we had a very good experience with Empire Heating & Air Conditioning and would use them again. They seemed to be very professional and honest without being pushy.

I have a maintenance plan with Empire so they come a few times a year to service my 3 HVAC units. The technicians are reliable and professional, arrive on time, and take care to not track dirt into the house. We have not had any issues with the units, thus I believe that their service is doing what I need it to do!

The unit was in need of a pretty deep clean, which ended up being an incremental cost over the Angie's List deal, but was good to get it in working order. Service was prompt and professional. Would use again in the future.

The service went well. They were professional and they did a good job. They did the job in a timely manner. I have not used them before. I like that they were prompt, precise on what was the problem, and fixed it quickly. I really did not have any dislikes. I never had any issues since the service was provided. The price was reasonable as well.

The a/c wasn't cooling and I had the 89.00 coupon. The technician mentioned "a leak" and that the freon was low. He never mentioned the nature of the leak or replacing the unit. He added the freon and then, with no discussion, billed me for 500.00 While he was in the vechicle preparing to drive away the entire unit cut off. He said that "it might be the thermostat." The upshot is that I have a very old a/c unit that leaks and that I spent 500.00 on. Had I been better informed I might have considered replacing the unit rather than spending hundreds on a solution that may or may not work. I've dealt with Empire since 1994 but I finally got the bad apple.

They have done work for me in the past. They do my furnace in the winter and my AC in the spring. They always do a good job and I am satisfied with them. Scheduling goes well too.

The technician was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and thorough. We had not expected such a complete servicing of the furnace and A/C systems and were very pleased that no problems were found - in fact saved us money! Tech replaced disposable air filter at no expense.

Were helpful and considerate in scheduling. Canceled deal for other reasons.

The services worked out very good. The technician was very kind and courteous. He found a problem that my home warranty took care of and that was good before it became a problem. I did not have any dislikes. I like how everything was taken cared of. There was a little problem with the address. They took care of it and worked with me to getting here. There were no additional charges to the Big Deal. They came out two days later after I purchased the Big Deal.
