Comfort Control Heating & Air Conditioning

Cancelled the service and asked for a refund. Have to say, Angie's List customer service did well.

I asked about a problem with my furnace filter and his answer was I don't know. Later in the week I called "The home fix it show " I explained the problem and the problem was fixed in less than an hour . I think the difference was in the age an expirence of the tect. The first was twenty something and the second was 50 plus.

Very pleasant young man who did the service and he gave a verbal and written description of future work that will be needed.

Had problems with heating this winter. They came out twice to get the job done.

It has been a long time since I purchased this deal so I do not remember the exact date that they finally came out. It was a very hot summer so the company was very busy and had to reschedule 3 times. They did not replace any filters because they said mine were not standard. My house was built in 2007 and I did not anticipate having this problem. The company should list the size of filters that they consider standard. The price they charged for freon is twice what most companies charge. The price that they gave me for replacing the part that was defective was 3 times what I was finally able to get it repaired for. I did not review this company before now because they keep getting such great reviews from other customers and I thought that perhaps my experience was unique. However, I am now suspicious of the reviews and I wonder if they are really from legitimate customers. My advice to future customers is to always get a second opinion before using this company.

It has been a while since this service was performed so I do not remember the exact date. I did a wait and see before I decided to review this company because I thought perhaps my experience was unique. They keep getting superior ratings and I am suspicious as to whether they are legitamate. They did not replace the filters at this property (or the other property that they provided service to) They advised me that due to the age of the unit it needed to be replaced. The tenants had been having high power bills and because a new unit was going to be so expensive, I called for a second opinion. The second company said that they could make the unit last a few years longer and advised me that the unit was operating in emergency heat mode due to a problem with the blower fan therefore causing the high power bills. I went with the advise of the second company and had the blower fan repaired and the unit has been working great and the power bill went down a lot. My advice on this company is BUYER BEWARE!

The two gentlemen arrived when the office administrator said they would, began work immediately, finished the job in about 7 hours (which was a good bit faster than I had expected), and were professional and focused throughout the entire job. The quality of work that they did was excellent (and I will expand on that below). The equipment that was chosen was on the lower end of Lennox's product line-up to keep costs down, but in any HVAC system install, the functionality of the system is usually more dependant on the installation than the equipment itself, and in this case, the we are very pleased with the performance of the new systems. Having built & renovated 5 houses, plus being responsible for the HVAC and mechanical contractor supply base for several industrial facilities, I have a little bit of experience with HVAC systems & contractors, so I decided to ask a few questions throughout the process. These guys knew what they were doing (as evidenced by the quality of the install work), did a great job explaining how the system work, and gave a brief (but thorough) talk on how to operate the systems & programmable thermostats. Field troubleshooting ability is important on HVAC installs where the new airhandling equipment will be hooked up to existing ductwork, and the unit under the house needed a bit of work to get it hooked up to the existing ductwork; and the guy that was doing the install work in the first floor unit knocked this out pretty quick. One of my pet peeves is contractors who install thermostats, outdoor compressors, and airhandlers / furnaces crooked, so I was VERY pleased to see that the outdoor compressor units were both installed dead level & lined up perfectly on the new pads, the thermostats were installed perfectly level without the guys having to use a small torpedo level (I checked it with a level after they left, and they're perfect), and they mounted the new airhandler in the attic with a new pan & rubber feet to keep vibration down. All "float" switches, pipework, line runs, and flue work was done beautifully. Where the old unit needed to be turned to 74 or 75 to keep the downstairs warm, the new unit makes it feel even warmer than before by just being set at 68 degrees. Temperature balancing between the rooms was never a problem with the old units, and the temperature balancing is still fine. The old units were going on 24 years old, and still functioned "ok", but the heat exchangers were rusting through, and could have presented carbon monoxide & safety issues, and the outdoor compressor units were beginning to have some issues (when the A/C was being used) due to age. They basically fell apart when the guys started removing them. When the guys were finished with the install, and got ready to test the new units, they advised us that they would produce a little bit of smoke until the manufacturing oils burned off, and that they would set off the smoke detectors (which they did), but this only lasted for a couple of minutes, and they opened the doors for a few minutes to clear the air out. There was a minor rattle from the combustion induction blower assembly when the upstairs unit was first turned on, but the technician made a quick adjustment to it, and in a few seconds the noise disappeared. When they left, there wasn't a visible trace that they had been to the house other than the new thermostats & equipment outdoors. There is a slight amount more mechanical noise coming from the blower motor from the new upstairs unit than the old unit, but this is due to the system working a bit differently than the old one, and is only for a couple of seconds when the blower wheel is starting to rotate, and is by no means a problem; the new unit is still very quiet. It probably has more to do with me being very "focused" and noticing every little detail on any piece of mechanical equipment. Drives my partner crazy. Overall, the technicians did a GREAT job, and I would highly recommend this company to do HVAC work for others, as previous experience (with Tai from Comfort Control) with the company performing maintenance on the old systems, has been excellent as well.

He did what he was going to do and at the same time educate us how and when we should change the filter. Answered our question.

They were prompt, professional, and very good at fixing our problem.

The service tech was very professional and knowledgeable with the mechanics of the AC unit. The job was completed on time and accurately.

It turned out to be a lot more expensive than I was hoping, but it was a good experience. I hadn't had it serviced in a while, so there were things that needed to be replaced. He was very nice and prompt.

They were good. He made a mistake with a bracket, but he corrected it, so I think he did a good job. I would use them again.

It was fine; service was punctual and did as requested.

I obtained five estimates (all from Angie's List "A" contractors). While each of the estimators was very good, John B of Comfort Control had a technical approach that he explained in easy to understand language. He had a better handle on what needed to be done. He was also very personable. The price was very reasonable. The installers were prompt and reliable. There was one small bump in the road, but it was handled promptly, professionally and to our complete satisfaction. I have used Angie's List "A" contractors for some years now, all "A" rated. Of all the work we have had done (and I do not say this lightly) the job done by Comfort Control has been the best.

This went was fine. They came out and did not find anything wrong with the unit. Nothing Special about the experience.

They did what they were supposed to do. They were professional and did a great job. He suggested that I repair something I wasn’t ready to repair yet and declined the additional service.

The air filter that was put in by the previous technician, from Comfort Control last year, was the wrong size, which I told the technician at this year's maintenance/check-up. He did not bring a filter for the change this year, so I had to furnish my own filter. The technician was very polite, and the price was very reasonable. I'd like to see the furnace check results myself next time, even though it means I have to go up in the attic.

I checked Angie's List and found this company highly rated so I called and they send out a technician. He check out the system thoroughly but could not fix the air conditioning unit. I hope to hear back to see if they have a used unit that could be used to replace the old one since the old one is not working. The heating system is working now since he replaced the thermostat and did a good job with getting that up and running. I received a call from the office at Comfort Control and was told that they do not keep used air conditioners and would not have the opportunity to sell me one. She did say she would let the technician know that I called and would tell him to watch out for one for me but there probably would not be one. I wish he had not told me that he would watch out for one for me because I have been waiting to hear back and now know that I will not hear back from them. He was very nice but told me he would try and do something that I don't believe he can do.

I got the info for COMFORT CONTROL off of ANGIES LIST. I called them at 8am on Monday morning 1-28-13 and partially explained my situation. Lisa told me she could have Josh at my home by 9am that same morning!! GREAT I said, what service! At 9:05 Josh was at my door with his partner. He/they were very neat and professional. They inspected the inside units and showed me some of the issues I was having. He did have some concerns and called John to see if he could come over and take a look. John was at another job and said he could be here around 11am. He too, was right on time. He looked at the concerns that Josh had and was very thorough in his explanation and showing me what the problems were. He showed me where my systems had major leaks that were costing me money. Since my systems were at least 12-15 years old, he advised me that the best thing to do was to put in more enery efficient units. We discussed the options and price. We made the install appointment for the following Tuesday, 2-5-13. Once again, like clock work the guys were right on time. You gotta love that, I know I do!!!! They were very professional and neat. They cleaned up as they worked. A couple of days after the install, John called to check in to make sure everything was running okay. He was also very prompt in getting me my AHRI certificates so I could send them in for my electric company rebates. I would DEFINITELY recommend this company if you need and HVAC work done. They were wonderful!!

I was very impressed with every aspect of Comfort Control. They answered the phone promptly and scheduled a technician to be at my within hours of my first call. Josh was very professional and tried everything he could to fix my heating unit. Thanks Comfort Control for being very professional and for providing great service. I will not hesitate to use Comfort Control in the future.

So much so, I am having them install a cooling coil and airconditioning unit.
