Comfort Control Heating & Air Conditioning

We bought our home about a year ago and have 3 builder-grade HVAC systems installed in 1995. We knew they we nearing the end and having a good check was vital. We liked the price and reviews for Comfort Control and weren't disappointed with our technician. He was verry professional and thourough and wrote down everything for us -- the good news and the bad, showing my husband exactly what the problems were. There was no pressure to go further. But we decided to get an estimate for the replacements we expected to make when we bought the house. John was a personable, low-pressure salesman. A former installer, he worked out a plan for replacement in stages and explained options and ways to increase efficiency. Most importantly, he told us what he thought we DID NOT need or wouldn't get a return on the investment. He gave us a price with some freebies and manufacturer incentives. Everything was written in detail. I did not get another estimate, although all the advice says you should. I did call around and check wholesale prices to get an idea of what the labor and mark-up was. Because no two HVAC companies will do the same thing, comparing estimates is comparing apples and oranges, I believe. My husband and I believe their price was fair. We decided to go with our gut about this company and because of the info we gathered about the product they offered. We accepted the deal on Friday and the installation began Monday. It took 2 days. They were a little late getting started both days of installation but worked late each day until each system was running and checked. They protected our landscaping and when they left there wasn't a scrap of debris. We never felt the least uncomfortable with the guys having free access to all parts of our home inside and out. I don't know how they worked in a hot attic without reeking but they were never unpleasant to be around! The next day John came to check out the job and to give us our warantee and rebate info. He noted a couple of things to adjust and made sure we were happy with the work. We're glad we didn't wait until an emergency to replace the main HVACs and that we chose this company. If they respond this quickly to a non-emergency, we're confident that when we need them fast they'll come through for us.

Called for a quote and told that it would cost 89$ just to come out and quote the work. Not actually do any work, just quote it. I asked if they took the price off the quoted work and was told no.

Everybody in the company, that I dialed with, was very professional and knowledgable. Sales person, Technicians and even the support staff at the office went out of her way to accommodate me. Technicians showed up on time. Job went exactly as discussed. Job has been couple of month ago now and I am still 100% satisfied. Would use them again.

They showed up promptly and diagnosed our problem right away....which was different from what we thought it was. Josh got the part we needed and installed it the same day. Everything has been working fine since then. He gave us several options on what we could do and didn't pressure us to go with the most expensive choice. I would certainly contact them again with any problems that we have.

Air condition went out suddenly. A technician arrived within 1 hr of calling. Very competitive rates. Good work!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased for $39 for furnace tune up with filter included. They were fine.

The technician came out to do a 'tune up.' All I can say is it appears to me these 'specials' accomplish 2 things for the contractor. (1) Provide new customers to add to their base, and; (2) Generate more revenue for them. After getting a 'laundry list' of things to repair from the technician I contacted my home warranty company since the numbers for the repairs recommended were getting sizable. Please understand that my 3 different systems all seemed to be working fine at the end of last cooling season and the beginning of this cooling season. I went ahead and submitted a work order through the home warranty company thinking that all problems would be approved and repaired. A different contractor handled my warranty company's work order and when that technician/owner came out and we reviewed all the items that were recommended to be repaired/replaced and we both agreed it certainly looked like a way to write up more work for this contactor.

Tuneup was definitely needed. Runs better now.

Comfort Control, Inc. did a good job. The staff was courteous, professional and responsible/accountable. They performed all of the usual tasks required for an annual HVAC check up and talked with us about the age on our unit and the appropriate filter for our unit. We had no issues with our experience. Job well done.

During the fall service, technician noticed motor not working at full capacity. Recommended to keep on eye and if problems, report to company, they would come and replace. Motor worked fine during winter but during spring servicing, the motor was worse and technician recommended replacing. Replaced next day.

Excellent; was very pleased with the technician and his work.

They were on time, and very friendly. Did the work well, and cleaned up well. They came to do the tune up, and ended up getting another $350 in services.

John was super professional and friendly. John and I went back and forth regarding bids. He spent a lot of time working with me and even though I went with another provider on my smaller unit, I will call him again when it's time to replace the large one. I believe he was a man of integrity and honesty. I'll call on this co. again.

We needed our furnace checked over as we have a "graying" system. He was very detailed, including sending pictures of the problem areas so we could get a better understanding. Great work by the technician! Even asked for the vacuum so he could clean up after his work. I would definitely use them again.

I couldn't understand the man on the phone who called me. They only use water to clean unless you pay $150. They shouldn't advertise that they are going to clean it for $35 if they are going to charge $150 fora cleaning agent.

I took advantage of an Angie's List Great Deal and had both our units cleaned and serviced. The technician was prompt, he was knowledgable, he showed me a few issues that he suggested I look out for. I declined to have him do the service work, but he was not pushy about getting it done then by him, nor was he trying to frighten me into doing the work. The office staff was very helpful in setting up the service call. All in all, a good experience.

The only complaint is they didn't have a higher quality air filter. I usually use an allergen level air filter, and they only had a standard filter.

I spent a lot on their services. They were thorough, punctual, polite and efficient. I was very pleased and I really felt that they were trustworthy. They went over everything with me and they were nice gentlemen. They gave good service. The price I quoted is in the service contract.

One glitch, but they remedied that and it was a good experience.

It's been quite a while, so I don't remember the date or the cost. I can research my checks at home and tell you at a later date. The only negative about the company is that the serviceman really pushes to sign up for a contract for two service calls a year, and they wanted payment right then. I wasn't totally comfortable with that approach, but I went ahead and paid for it. My fault. Within that negative is the fact that the serviceman wanted me to pay the service contract for TWO units (I have two, but one doesn't work, which he was well aware of because he had just looked at the second unit minutes before). I had to remind him that one unit doesn't work, so why should I pay double for the service contract? Ultimately, I never used the contract I had paid for because I subsequently bought a home warranty insurance program that covers all major systems. I am giving Comfort Control a good mark because the serviceman did a good job. I just didn't like the strong hustle for an annual contract that provided twice a year service -- similar to what Shumate offers, and which I 've had with Shumate before. But Shumate NEVER hustled you. They never pushed. Simply advised that it was available. Comfort Control was less expensive than Shumate, which was why I used Angie's List to get a new company. I would have rated Comfort Control higher, were it not for the arm-twisting, which is unprofessional and intimidating.

I scheduled the annual maintenance and the technician called about a half hour before he arrived. The technician examined the furnace and AC unit. He inspected the furnace filter and advised that it should be changed in about a month or two after the duct work cleaning is completed. He then checked the AC unit and even cleaned the fins on the unit. I was very impressed with the visit.

I've been with Comfort Control on their annual maintenance contract for years. They replaced my furnace and a/c in 2009 was they were old and inefficient. I chose Comfort Control to replace the a/c unit again as the owner is very involved and wants to make sure everything is done properly. I hate being hot and the temperature was supposed to rise to nearly 80 degrees but Comfort Control replaced the central a/c unit before the house got too warm. My technician, Tai, spent hours in the hot attic getting everything right and didn't leave until nearly 7pm that night.

Went very smoothly. The tech arrived a little late due to the rain, but called to let me know. He was careful not to mess up the floors. He was patient in answering my questions.Good experience. I was impressed!

Comfort Control was very trustworthy, reliable and responsive.
