The confirmation emails and phone calls were reassuring. The movers got lost getting to my home and were almost an hour late, but that's the worst thing that happened. Dafton, Keith, and Robert immediately went to work after I showed them what needed to be moved. They wrapped furniture and used my materials at my request to safeguard mirrors and other fragile items. They handled large pieces of furniture in some rather tight spaces (stairway & foyer) with no damage to anything. I had furniture and containers to be moved to a storage unit and furniture and containers to be moved within the house. They cheerfully did everything I asked and insisted that I not lift a thing, that was their job. We almost forgot one large piece of furniture, but they had no problem loading it, even though they had closed up the truck. The truck was packed neat and snug and no damage to anything in the transport and delivery into the storage unit. They packed and arranged (sometimes re-arranged) items to my specifications with no trouble at all. I enjoyed this team working for me and will gladly recommend them and plan to use them again when my house sells. I was a little hesitant to hire someone to do this move since really we could have done it ourselves with help from friends, but in the end I was so happy I paid for Mark the Movers to do it for me. Their help was worth every penny and saved many a back and sore legs, not to mention my walls and furniture edges. :)
Description of Work: Moved two queen bedrooms, part of a dining room set, a tall secretary and large computer hutch, and about 40 containers to storage. Also moved 3 twin beds and two chest of drawers between floors along with about 5 containers. Furniture and mirrors were wrapped before moving.

Called Mark the Mover for a quote and Justin was very prompt returning my call. He went through all the details included with the move and specifics in cost. He also emailed me insurance options. After your initial consultation with Justin, if you'd like to reserve a date, you must make a deposit (I did it on their website). Two days before the move, I received a call to confirm the move and the time the movers would arrive. The gentleman detailed what would occur the morning of the move and throughout the day. The day of the move, the 4 movers arrived an hour late (3 movers and a foreman), but they were so quick in the move itself, it never mattered. The guys were funny, extremely careful and expedient. In total the move took 6 hours to move from a 4 bedroom home to a 5 bedroom home (granted, we don't have as much furniture as a normal home). I tipped each mover individually by splitting 20% of the final move cost 4 ways. I would definitely use Mark the Mover again.

They did a great job. The price was very reasonable because there were basically two houses worth of stuff that they moved to one house. It was a big house with a lot of stuff. They did an outstanding job of packing things up and moving things where we wanted it. If we didn't like where it was they would move it again. They were very efficient. I found them on Angie's list and called for a quote. This was after calling two competitors who quoted $50-$100 more per hour. I needed to move on a specific date and was delighted that it was available, I was instructed on how to leave a deposit to secure the date (Online via Paypal - How easy!) and thought that the 48 hour cancellation/refund period was extremely reasonable. Everything about my upcoming experience was carefully and expertly explained. The three movers who arrived on moving day were extremely efficient and professional from start to finish. They arrived on time and went immediately to work. The large items which weren't boxed were wrapped (shrink wrapped or with blankets) and moved with care. My bed required disassembly and reassembly, which was done quickly and carefully. My new home had a washer and dryer that I didn't need, so I wanted to give them to a friend. My friend followed us with a truck to the new home and I asked the movers to first remove the washer and dryer and load them onto my friend's truck, before moving in all of my belongings. They did this with care, without complaint and helped secure them on the friend's truck as if they were moving them themselves!

Tim and his team called before arriving, as promised. All 3 men listened to what I expected, and set about very carefully wrapping each glass shelf, and then wrapping the curio itself. They moved some furniture around in order to get the curio out of the room, and then replaced everything they had moved, and asked me if they had put everything back where it belonged. They were respectful and very enthusiastic about the job at hand. I will call them again if I need help in the future.
Description of Work: I had a very large, very beautiful curio cabinet to move about 5 miles, but I had been worried that some of the glass or mirror might break. Tim's team of 3 who came to make the move, however, were so careful and precise that my concern went away. They were just as careful at the destination, and the curio now stands, fully free of damage, in its new home.

I cannot recommend Mark the Mover highly enough. This was my second time using them for a cross-town move. This time was moving our family of four out of a rental house into our new house just two weeks after our second child was born. They were very prompt in responding to my inquiry and provided a detailed estimate of the charges that was perfectly in line with what our charges ended up being. I also appreciated their flexibility. You can hire just the movers, or, if you need it, you can hire packers by the hour. So, if you don't want someone to pack your entire house or apartment, but will need help with some areas, like the kitchen, you can get just that. I think there is a two-hour minimum for packers. They were prompt, very efficient, and moved all of our furnishings without a scratch. Easy peasy. I never want to move again, but if we do, I will definitely call Mark the Mover.

The guys MtM sent were excellent movers. They were right on time at 9:00am and got right to work. I had a few bigger pieces to move and they wrapped and handled everything with care and professionalism. They got me into my new place in Roswell by 1:15pm. One of the things I really liked was the box they offer for moving big screen TVs. These things are delicate and the box MtM provides (+$50) is that it is made to handle a big screen TV like the delicate device that it is. They moved that thing with ease and confidence.

What a great bunch of guys! All the difference in the world between this cheerful, efficient crew and the company who loaded the truck for me in another city. Mark the Mover crew worked quickly but carefully, kept my spirits up, and even made good suggestions about the placement of furniture based on their experience. I'm giving a "B" for price, only because if you're scanning Angie's List for a cheap mover, this is not the one. But it's important to note that my experience with Mark the Mover proves that you really DO get what you pay for. I had to watch every dollar on this move, which is why I endured the added complication of renting a U-Pack truck and hiring crews at both ends of the move to load and unload. After a stressful day with the loading folks, whose inexperience led to a broken antique armoire that I will have to pay to have repaired (I bought the cheapest insurance with the highest deductible), I decided to splurge on Mark the Mover's relatively higher hourly rate for unloading the truck in Atlanta. Their part of my move went smoothly and they finished faster than the estimated time. If I have to move again (oh please no!) I hope I'll be in a financial position to award Mark the Mover the entire job, from start to finish. Thanks, guys.

Justin, my rep from the company was excellent from start to finish and explained everything in detail for me. I hired the 3 guys @ $150 an hour. I was informed that the guys would show up between 0800-1100 the morning of the move. They called roughly at 0800 to let me know they would be there around 0830, and he showed up on-time from the time given. The guys spoke perfectly good English which was the #1 Priority for me. They moved efficiently and wrapped my electronics with extreme care. Once we arrived at the house, they moved everything in quickly and cleaned up their mess along the way. I was never charged for the stairs at my apartment nor the basement stairs they had to go up and down on at the new house. I appreciated their professionalism and courtesy. I tipped each of the men $30 a piece. These guys were awesome and would definitely hire them again!

I called Mark the Mover for an estimate approximately 1 week before our scheduled move. Due to being on a tight budget after just purchasing a home, I wanted to be able to move our furniture and larger items for under $1000.00. I spoke to Justin at Mark the Mover for a quote and we worked out moving plan well under $1000.00. Certain items with glass tops, large mirrors, and flat panel TV's cost a little more so we were able to eliminate this expense by moving them ourselves the day before. Mind you, the cost is well worth it for the added protection of these items, but as I mentioned before it was more important for us to stay under 1k if possible. I obtained a 3 hour minimum rate @ $170.00 per hour. Justin informed me that with the items and length of the drive between homes those 3 hours would probably not be enough time. I was overly optimistic and decided to go ahead and pursue the 3 hour minimum and pay any time over that at a little under $45.00 for every 15 minutes over. We arranged for an arrival time between 8 and 9 am. On the day of the move, I received a call from the driver the moment they were leaving Atlanta to let me know they were on the way. They arrived shortly after 9 am and the supervisor (I'm sorry I forget his name) came in to assess and locate the remaining items we wanted moved. He started the clock at 9:15, but the movers were already bringing in pads and shrink wrap for the furniture prior to the clock starting. 2 movers were inside the house wrapping items and bringing them downstairs while 2 movers were outside loading the truck. Once the upstairs was completed they began working on the downstairs. A note here, to help the movers save time, we moved our patio items (patio table, umbrella, 6 chairs, really heavy 2 sided gas and charcoal grill) from the back patio to the garage the night before in and effort to save time. We also removed the glass tops from our patio table and moved those ourselves the day before. Once the truck was loaded (it took a little over an hour and 30 minutes) they followed me to the new home in Woodstock. The drive was approximately 45 minutes with traffic. Once there they began unloading the truck and placed everything where instructed. They unwrapped the items once placed and disposed of the wrapping. They were extremely careful and if I have to dig up ANYTHING negative it would be a couple of small scuffs on the wall in the stairwell. BUT they had to haul up the heavy dresser I mentioned and trust me this was not easy! The scuffs were easily repaired with a little touch-up paint and I never even mentioned it to them (or noticed it until after). In addition they put together the bed in the master suite and our entertainment center in the living area. The supervisor stopped the clock while the guys were still putting together our entertainment center and the total time came to 4 hours and 15 minutes. I pre-paid for an hour when I scheduled the move so I paid by credit card for the time remaining. The team of movers was really upbeat and friendly despite all the heavy lifting and maneuvering and I only dread that I could not afford more. I did manage to tip them a hundred dollars bringing the total to 865.00. I wish I could have tipped more and I'm extremely appreciative that they worked as hard and as fast as they did to keep me under my 1k budget. Justin was right on when he stated 3 hours just wasn't enough time and I appreciate his honesty and fairness. We will recommend Mark the Mover to our friends and family for the future moving needs. I would also hire them again to move any heavy objects around in my home, such a piano, grandfather clock, or that dreaded dresser again! Hopefully next time I need them I will be able to pay for their full services (packing, unpacking, etc.) and maintain piece-of-mind, but hopefully that won't be for another 10 years at least!

We packed and moved boxes ourselves the day before so Mark the Mover only moved furniture and items that would not fit into boxes. Charlie's team showed up right on time and he came in to look over everything i wanted them to move. Once we went though the items and the paperwork his team started grabbing everything. These guys were moving FAST. They were almost running back and forth which to me meant they were trying to meet the 3 hour time i prepaid for. They got everything loaded up very quickly. We left and they followed me in their moving truck. As luck would have it, going down interstate 285 my truck had a blow out. Since they were behind me they helped me over to the side of the road and all the while i am thinking we will never meet this 3 hours now. Once we both got to the emergency lane THESE GUYS ALL JUMPED OUT OF THE TRUCK AND PROCEEDED TO CHANGE MY TIRE!!!! that's right, mark the mover even changed my tire haha. I was very impressed when charlie looked at me and said "sir, you are still on the clock and its our job to see your move through to the end safely." The tire was changed and we were back on the road in 10 minutes. We got to my new house and they guys unloaded everything even faster than they loaded it. In fact, they even put together some things that i didn't even think they would bu we made such good time that they wanted me to get my full 3 hours. I will use them from here on out and believe me when i say, ASK FOR CHARLIE'S TEAM". There were some companies out there that were a little cheaper but there wasn't a scratch on anything and these guys were fun.

It went well. The guys were very conscientious about wrapping the furniture and being careful with it. They were also very pleasant and worked well together. We did not supervise closely enough and some items were left behind but none were too large for us to move later. Most importantly to me when I contacted the operations manager to discuss some concerns, he took me seriously, gave me his full attention, thanked me for calling him and provided information that put my mind at ease. It is so important that the manager KNOWS his employees and could speak knowledgeably to me about each one as an individual. If you are considering a company that uses day labor or temp labor I cannot stress enough how important it is to pay the higher price and use company with screened employees!!

It went OK. We have a few large pieces and they moved them with no real problems - some of them up a flight of stairs. They called at about 7:30 to confirm and said they were going to arrive between 8-9am and they showed up at about 8:55 so that was a little annoying - we basically waited for an hour for them to arrive. We decided to go with 4 guys at the recommendation of the sales guy (more $$$ per hour). He did quote me 7-8 hours which almost scared me off but it ended up being 5 1/2 hours including 1 hour travel time for $170/hour. They got there and went to work quickly and were very polite. I felt like the unloading took a little too long for 4 guys. Like I said they were very nice but I've used other (cheap) moving companies before and I'm just not sure that the extra money was worth it.

I chose Mark the Mover on the basis of the reviews on this site, and scheduled my move roughly a month prior to the date. I paid 1 hour ($140) in advance by credit card for a 3hr minimum; an email confirmation was sent to me immediately. The day prior to the move I received a phone confirmation that the three men would be arriving Saturday between 8-9am (as scheduled the previous month). The truckers called me when they were on their way and, like clockwork, the huge truck pulled up at about five minutes before 9, and Waddell (the foreman) emerged. He took a quick look around and then Henry and Anthony bounded upstairs and immediately got started. (They took at least one load to the truck before Waddell even stopped to show me the paperwork; I appreciated this since the clock had already started.) The three men (Anthony was only 18) were amazingly strong and efficient. But above all they were decent and respectful. Other than my dozens of boxes of books and my pedestal dining table, they shrink-wrapped most items (dining room chairs, huge sofa, bookshelf, and more). Waddell had been with the company the longest and he told me how he'd seen the company grow to 30 trucks (if I remember correctly)! He showed a lot of pride in his work and so did the other two gentlemen. If I'd been a little more organized, timing would've been better -- but I ended up going over by 30 minutes (not so bad). From the moment they arrived, and throughout the entire move, I felt like I was in good hands -- like I'd made the right choice; I felt completely at ease. Postscript: I called Mark the Mover in a panic about an hour after the movers left because I couldn't locate my laptop -- I'm in school and teach, and years of research and documents of all sorts are stored on my laptop! Before you make the same mistake, please look carefully through any boxes that you yourself did not pack: in order to consolidate some unpacked items (throw pillows, a quilt, etc), the men had used an empty box and placed my laptop in there as well to secure it. Thank goodness! There are so many horror stories out there about dishonest and unsavory movers -- these are not them!!! This was by far the best moving experience I've ever had!
