The transaction was entered into on 5/18/2015. The leaf filters were installed on 5/20/2015. The certified cancellation letter was postmarked on 5/21/2015 and they received it on 5/22/2015. On 5/20/15 the installer left a receipt which showed he installed the product and also had a place on the receipt to sign and cancel the transaction and send in by mail which I also did on 5/22/2015. No one ever called me back and I considered the transaction cancelled and was waiting for the company to come and remove their product until I got the call yesterday from Wells Fargo telling me that Leaf Filter company had charged my account. I called their customer service last night and talked with them about this and they told me they would have someone get back in touch with me. I have no phone number of their local office in Ga. to get in touch with anyone. The installation was not done in a professional way and the product not installed as it is supposed to be installed and even their service person that came out to inspect said so.
At first, everything looked good. Until the first storm came...it was a complete disaster. Overflowing gutters, including raining inside the house, I started to call them at least twice a month and they always came. I give them that. However it was never their fault, it was always something else: the squirrels had made a hole in the roof, my shingles were not installed right, etc. However, squirrels and shingles were not a problem before installing this product.
I stopped calling them after I realize it was worthless for them to keep up coming, so now every 2 months I have to pay somebody to clean the mesh manually, because the leaves stick to the surface. That is not what they promised.
So, I am stuck with a product that does not work and I am planning to replace it in the near future. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The mesh is not designed to handle heavy rain. The water does not go into the gutter. They try to trick you with the hose experiment, but a hose is not mother nature. They cannot replicate heavy rain with a hose.
"Attached please find documents related to [member name removed]. This homeowner has previously filed a complaint with the BBB that was resolved in LeafFilter’s favor. We are 100% not responsible for the issues that she experienced. The shingles on her roof were cut too short by her roofer. The shingles on her roof were cut back so far that they allow water to enter behind her gutters. [member name removed] has stated on several occassions that her shingles were cut/installed incorrectly by a different company. The contractor that she hired to inspect her roof noted the same thing. LeafFilter does not install roofs. We did not alter or impact her shingles in any way. The issues that she is experiencing with water running behind her gutters is caused by incorrectly installed shingles. [member name removed] is fully aware that the shingles – not LeafFilter – is the cause of her roof leaks."
"LeafFilter met with the [member name removed] and attempted to address their concerns. The [member name removed] showed us two areas of concern. Mr [member name removed] attempted to use a garden hose to demonstrate overflow at one area - he was unable to create any overflow even with a heavy flow from a garden hose which produces much more water than a typical rain storm. We did notice some overflow at the 2nd area that Mr [member name removed] pointed out. We attempted to fix this area - it would have required an easy adjustment to the LeafFilter system. The [member name removed] response was that they "did not want us to perform the repairs. they wanted money for a basement renovation/repair project." A final area that the [member name removed] pointed out was a conductor head. LeafFilter does not make, or represent to make, a product that would cover a conductor head. And, it is not advisable to cover a conductor head. There was no language in the contract and LeafFilter's sales rep made no representation that we would perform any work related to the conductor head. Before departing the [member name removed] residence our Service Technician confirmed that they did not want any repairs performed. The [member name removed] were adamant that they did not want repairs. It was reiterated, "we don't want anything done, we want our money back so that we can use it to fix the basement." LeafFilter is the #1 consumer rated gutter protection by two leading reporting agencies. We have installed more than 19 million feet of gutter protection nationwide. The product works as advertised and we stand behind our work and our lifetime guaranty. In this instance, it appears that the customers are unwilling to be made happy and that they are seeking a source of funds for an unrelated home project."
