The 2 guys who came out to do the work were in a hurry and did a crappy job. within months we had to call leaf filter to come and fix the areas that they did not seal. The people who come out to do the work are not employees of the company but contractors. They really don't care about doing the job right. The 1st guy who came out basically said that the installers did not seal the gutter properly, they should have removed the old seal and re-seal but instead they just put the new seal on top of the old seal which basically did not seal the gutter. The 2nd guy who came out on second occasion said the same thing and promised that he has sealed all the connections. After 2 years, we noticed one corner of our house the wood by the gutter is rotting. We call the leaf filter again, the guy who came out basically said who ever sealed the gutter did not seal the back side of the gutter and water was overflowing towards the house resulting in rot over time. I requested them to repair the damages caused by their negligence last week and have made 2 calls to see what they are going to do but have not heard back from them yet. Don't waste your money on this system unless you have brand new gutter in place, they don't do the work they say they'll do. Leaf Filter may provide warranty but trying to get your gutter working properly is going to take some work by calling multiple times and dealing with contractors and not the company who sold the product.
Description of Work: We had leaf filter put in our gutter 2 years ago. We compared 2 different options: system that replaces the existing gutter with gutters that has built in top an prevents leaf from going through or leaf filter. The cost was about the same but we decided to go with leaf filter. Leaf filter promised to examine and seal the gutters before installing the leaf filter. They said that our gutter was fine and did not need replacing and just needed the leaf filter.

we left our number as interested in more info at a home show. We agreed to a free, no obligation estimate. The salesman arrived 30 minutes early, catching me very off guard. He measured, and asked to come in to talk. i offered him a seat on the porch, to which he kept hinting that he wanted to go inside (my husband wasn't home yet, I really wanted to wait for him). My husband arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment, surprised that he was already there. I had an appointment to go to, and got up to leave. The salesman then berated me, calling me rude. He got up to take another measurement, and we noticed the estimate was over $7,000! He came back and quoted around $4,500 with our discounts. We said we would consider it, but can't right now. He insisted that we tell him why not now? He yelled that he felt backed into a corner, had to sit outside, too much pollen, and had driven from Alabama. We said this was supposed to be a free estimate. He replied that he wasn't aware of that. More words, essentially his venting and us trying to firmly say no while trying to get him to leave. He finally left, very irritated. We felt very nervous for several days after, but they haven't called back.

We ran across LeafFilter at the Great Georgia Airshow. We were interested in their product so we gave them our name and number ... big mistake. They called many, many times. Eventually I allowed them to come out and give us a "FREE" quote for new gutters. Their quote was very high, 3 times the cost of a previous quote we had received from a competitor. They had me sign the quote and we would talk the next day about possibly moving forward. After talking to my spouse and checking out the reviews online, we decided we should wait because we had several projects going on already. The salesman asked if he could call us back in a month to see where we stood. I just got a call from 770-416-0300 LeafFilter. The man said he had a contract I signed in front of him and wanted to know when his men could come out and complete the work. I told him we declined the quote the next day and we were going to wait until some of the other projects were done. He told me had a signed contract in front of him and he would take us to court to get the money. I gave him my attorney's phone number. He told me we could not stand up to them, they were a $44 million dollar a year company. I told him we would never do business with them now.

Sales process on 6/25/2015 went fine. The Salesperson was professional, seemed knowledgable and spent considerable time with me answering questions and assuring me their product would be the right solution for our continuously clogged gutters. They scheduled my installation for 6/27/2015 and I spoke to the Operations Manager who said how much they appreciated my business. From that point on, dealing with LeafFilter has been an utter waste of time and a disaster. The initial installation appointment for 6/27/2015 was missed without anyone contacting me as to why. A late-afternoon phone call to customer service offered no tangible information and the first of many promises that I would be called back by someone with an update. A follow-up call to the salesperson went to voice mail and was not returned until two days later (in fairness, he claimed to have been in an area with poor cellular reception that weekend). I, however, was not, because I spent my Saturday waiting for the installation that never happened. Rather than going into a litany of all the attempts to contact someone at LeafFilter to resolve my situation, I will refer anyone reading this to the extensive review of an experience with this company dated May 8, 2015. My experience was similarly frustrating, right down to the same salesperson and same Ops Manager. With the exception of the customer service representatives I spoke to on numerous occasions, every other person I interacted with from LeafFilter was unresponsive and unhelpful following the sale. The end result, a month in the making, was a short email from the Ops Manager (whom had not once called me despite multiple attempts to speak with him) informing me they had sent someone to inspect our gutters and that the LeafFilter product could not be installed on them. This was a very convenient result for the company, but it did not reflect the opinion of the only person that had actually been to my home, included the type of gutter on my work order and subsequently told me the product could be installed on my type of gutter, but would require one particular contractor to do the work. I think my installation may have just ended up being a little too much work for the local office. In my opinion, I think the LeafFilter product is probably quite good, but their operations and installation management here in the Atlanta area are disorganized, unresponsive and, ultimately, unhelpful.

The filters were not installed as explained by the salesman. Shingles were turned up and large gaps at the end of the roof line exposing the decking under the shingles allowing water to get under the shingles and into the house if a hard blowing rain were to happen. Called their customer service the day of the installation and told them how dissatisfied I was about the installation. Called the salesman also. Called the next day and told their customer service that I needed someone to call me that day and did not hear from anyone until the following day. When I didn't hear from anyone on the 3rd business day after the contract was signed I sent a certified, return request to the company post dated on the 3rd business day that I wanted to cancel the transaction and explained why. The letter was signed for and I have the receipt. A man did call, I think his name is Cris Peters, and said he wanted to come out and inspect the installation and I told him he could but I had cancelled the transaction per their contract. He came out, I was at work but my girlfriend was home. He was at the house for some time and told my Girlfriend that the leaf filters were not installed correctly. He did half way correct a couple of the problems. The transaction was financed through Wells Fargo and I called them and told them also that I was cancelling the transaction and to put the account on hold. They said they would. Yesterday I got a call from Wells Fargo and they asked if the charges were mad by me and if I was satisfied and if not to call the which I did and told them all of this. The transaction was entered into on 5/18/2015. The leaf filters were installed on 5/20/2015. The certified cancellation letter was postmarked on 5/21/2015 and they received it on 5/22/2015. On 5/20/15 the installer left a receipt which showed he installed the product and also had a place on the receipt to sign and cancel the transaction and send in by mail which I also did on 5/22/2015. No one ever called me back and I considered the transaction cancelled and was waiting for the company to come and remove their product until I got the call yesterday from Wells Fargo telling me that Leaf Filter company had charged my account. I called their customer service last night and talked with them about this and they told me they would have someone get back in touch with me. I have no phone number of their local office in Ga. to get in touch with anyone. The installation was not done in a professional way and the product not installed as it is supposed to be installed and even their service person that came out to inspect said so.

We contracted Leaf Filter of North Atlanta to install their gutter protection product on 77 feet of gutter along a difficult to reach section of our house. The price for the work was quoted at $1839, tax included, to be paid by credit card. The price would have been $87 or 4% less if paid by cash. Their sales person Rick Testani was nice, knowledgeable, and on-time, adding confidence to the process and helping to remove my skepticism about companies home improvement companies who frequently promise high and deliver low. You can tell that Leaf Filter trains their sales people pretty well and gives them a lot of tools to persuade people to buy their products. Including bundling in several "discounts" that you cannot verify since their prices are not published anywhere. This included leaving behind a sign when the work was completed. Rick was exactly high-pressure but he deployed most of the usual FUD and comparison tactics used by companies to get somebody to buy their products. When my husband told Rick he was ready to buy, Rick called in to his office to let them know about the deal and to setup an installation time. They said they could do the installation the next day. My husband spoke with their Operations Manager Damon who told him how grateful he was to have us as a customer and that they would do what they needed to make sure the process went great. From there the experience worsened.... Installation day came and went without anyone showing up to do the installation. My husband had to repeatedly call the Leaf Filter office to get status updates on when somebody would show up. Our appointment was from 1:00pm to 3:00pm EST. When nobody showed, my husband called at 4:53pm EST and was told that he would get a call right back with status. At 5:15pm he received a call from Samuel saying that they were delayed doing jobs that ran long and they were 10 minutes away. At 7:01 PM EST, still no show, my husband had to call back to Leaf Filter to find out where they were at. At 7:14PM EST my husband received a call saying that they were not going to make it because they were in an accident. My husband called to speak to their Operations Manager, Damon. Damon apologized for their not making it and offered a lame excuse that did not match any of the first two excuses I received. Damon agreed to make it right by providing me additional discount on the services if I wanted to remain a Leaf Filter customer. My husband told Damon that his time was worth $50.00 / hour and that he expected at least $200.00 off. Damon capitulated and gave the discount, saying that his crew would eat it. We scheduled another installation time for 9:00AM to 11:00AM EST Friday. That time came and went and still no body from Leaf Filter arrived to install their product or called to let us know they were running late. My husband finally received a call from Matt, one of their installers at 11:15AM EST saying that he had just been given the work order for my job and saw it said the installation time was scheduled for between 9:00AM to 11:00AM EST Friday FIRM, and wanted to know if he could still come out to do the job or not. Make note that Matt made no mention of a plane crash or being stuck in traffic (this will be important later). My husband decided to cancel the order. My husband wrote an email to our sales person Rick explaining to him that we were no showed twice and that we were cancelling the order. My husband telephoned their corporate offices to explain how dissatisfied he was and was transferred back to Damon. Damon tried blaming the entire debacle on a plane crash blocking the interstate and made another excuse saying that their crews pick up their pay checks on Friday at 10:15AM EST and that normally this gives them enough time to make it to their appointments scheduled between 9:00AM and 11:00AM EST. Do you see the problem with this statement? Damon, if you are reading this, you should seriously re-think your logic behind this practice because it is not working for your customers. What kind of a fool schedules appointments from 9:00AM to 11:00AM knowing that their people are not leaving the office until after 10:15AM in Atlanta traffic to make it someplace by 11:00AM? Never mind being their promptly at 9:00AM and getting off to an early start. The corporate offices and management for Leaf Filter should look in to their Atlanta office's performance and management practices. My husband cancelled our order with Leaf Filter and has decided he will find an alternative to their product. It is too bad because they looked like they had their act together. In my husband's opinion don't believe these guys, they are clearly disorganized and full of B.S.

At first, everything looked good. Until the first storm came...it was a complete disaster. Overflowing gutters, including raining inside the house, I started to call them at least twice a month and they always came. I give them that. However it was never their fault, it was always something else: the squirrels had made a hole in the roof, my shingles were not installed right, etc. However, squirrels and shingles were not a problem before installing this product. I stopped calling them after I realize it was worthless for them to keep up coming, so now every 2 months I have to pay somebody to clean the mesh manually, because the leaves stick to the surface. That is not what they promised. So, I am stuck with a product that does not work and I am planning to replace it in the near future. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The mesh is not designed to handle heavy rain. The water does not go into the gutter. They try to trick you with the hose experiment, but a hose is not mother nature. They cannot replicate heavy rain with a hose.

After installation of the LeafFiter during the many rainstorms that we experienced in my area I realized that on one side of the house the water was going from the roof through the soffit and into my patio. On the other sides of the house the water was going over the leaf guard and dripping underneath the gutters. I called my home insurance agent who came to my house during the following storm and after witnessing the problems caused by the leaf guard suggested a report by a certified home inspector. I called the company and complained about the job and their product. LeafFilter North sent somebody to check on the job. The company told me that there wasn't any overlap of the roof on the side were it was raining through the soffit into the patio. The company blame it on the shingles and told me they were too short on that side. They also offered to correct the problem at my expenses. I never had an overlap problem before the installation of the LeafFilter. When the inspector came to my house he found clogged gutters and ripped shingles where the leaf guard had been installed. He also witnessed that around the house the rain was flowing over the guard and the gutters. He prepared a detailed report with pics that I sent to the company. I didn't want to deal again with people who did such poor job in the first place and told the company that under the suggestion of my home inspector I was going to have the leaf guard removed at my expenses but I was seeking a refund for their job. The company refused to refund me and since when I signed the contract with LeafFilter North it was financed through the bank I am still paying for something I had to remove and created so many problems. I also need to fix my gutters now and replace the ripped shingles.

Response from LeafFilter Gutter Protection
Attached please find documents related to [member name removed]. This homeowner has previously filed a complaint with the BBB that was resolved in LeafFilter’s favor. We are 100% not responsible for the issues that she experienced. The shingles on her roof were cut too short by her roofer. The shingles on her roof were cut back so far that they allow water to enter behind her gutters. [member name removed] has stated on several occassions that her shingles were cut/installed incorrectly by a different company. The contractor that she hired to inspect her roof noted the same thing. LeafFilter does not install roofs. We did not alter or impact her shingles in any way. The issues that she is experiencing with water running behind her gutters is caused by incorrectly installed shingles. [member name removed] is fully aware that the shingles – not LeafFilter – is the cause of her roof leaks.

After asking for them to remove these and refund the money they have refused to do so. When I was trying to figure out the problems caused by the leaf filters I called the salesman twice and never received a call back. They did send one roofing person out before the regional manager who could only come out Sundays and didn't even bring a ladder. He just tried to sell us roof venting work, which we didn't need. This didn't seem reputable. Then, the regional project manager came out and told both of us they were clogged and then told a VP is was not and they could make changes; he lied to us. The VP was very rude and arrogant. When I told him we were working on a YouTube video of how the rain bounces off and were considering suing he said, "Go ahead, that's what we pay lawyers for."
Description of Work: They put their gutter filters on our gutters but our roof line is not designed for their product so when we've had torrential rains, the water bounces off and has run down our house causing flooding in the basement. We never had this problems until they installed these gutter filters. Also, they never called to follow up after installation and left cigarette butts in our yard, which there were none of before.

Response from LeafFilter Gutter Protection
LeafFilter met with the [member name removed] and attempted to address their concerns. The [member name removed] showed us two areas of concern. Mr [member name removed] attempted to use a garden hose to demonstrate overflow at one area - he was unable to create any overflow even with a heavy flow from a garden hose which produces much more water than a typical rain storm. We did notice some overflow at the 2nd area that Mr [member name removed] pointed out. We attempted to fix this area - it would have required an easy adjustment to the LeafFilter system. The [member name removed] response was that they "did not want us to perform the repairs. they wanted money for a basement renovation/repair project." A final area that the [member name removed] pointed out was a conductor head. LeafFilter does not make, or represent to make, a product that would cover a conductor head. And, it is not advisable to cover a conductor head. There was no language in the contract and LeafFilter's sales rep made no representation that we would perform any work related to the conductor head. Before departing the [member name removed] residence our Service Technician confirmed that they did not want any repairs performed. The [member name removed] were adamant that they did not want repairs. It was reiterated, "we don't want anything done, we want our money back so that we can use it to fix the basement." LeafFilter is the #1 consumer rated gutter protection by two leading reporting agencies. We have installed more than 19 million feet of gutter protection nationwide. The product works as advertised and we stand behind our work and our lifetime guaranty. In this instance, it appears that the customers are unwilling to be made happy and that they are seeking a source of funds for an unrelated home project.

First saw LeafFilter product at Huntsville, AL Boat Show, 1/2014. Filled out card for follow-up, which resulted in sales rep visit to home. Rep took measurements and did good presentation on product, company, reputation, warrantee, etc. Although we had not intended to contract for the service at that time, we had already heard one other product's/company's presentation and dismissed it for its hard-sell tactic....but felt more comfortable that the LeafFilter product would do the job for us, and the sales rep did a good job and did not overly pressure for immediate decision (although they obviously want to do this). The product really does seem impressive. In addition to the demo at the boat show, the sales rep had samples mounted on gutter sections with shingles that could fit in our sink. I loaded up the shingles and gutter cover with my own leaves and ran full force sink onto sample. It was impressive how the flow down the shingles, around the leaves and down into the gutter actually worked. The product is a very fine mesh screen fit into frame that completely covers the gutter, so the only way into the gutter is via the mesh. LeafFilter arranges installation by what they refer to as and quot;captured contractorsand quot;. The installation date was set, I was called a couple of days before it make sure still OK, the crew of two showed up promptly to do the work, which took them two days (which was the estimate). They worked hard and long and were nice guys to have around. By and quot;captured contractorand quot; I came to understand that these installers had been trained in the installation of this product and had experience in installing this product....though as an independent company they certain had other types of work they did also. They were willing to accommodate my 'inspection' of the installation process, but once I watch for just a little, I was satisfied that things were going to be fine. They were respectful and cleanup up after themselves. Payment for materials/labor was done when the job was DONE and I was SATISFIED. We're pleased with how things went and look forward to the product and its installation to work well for us.

Once we sat down to discuss the estimate, David lost patience when we told him that my husband and I would need to discuss and call him later. He was extremely rude and would not accept that the decision could not be made immediately. After trying different sales techniques (where we continued indicating that we would not make an immediate decision) he became sarcastic. We have never been treated so disrespectful by anyone, especially someone who was trying to get our business.

They came as scheduled did the work, cleaned up and left. I am still finding plastic brackets and screws in the flower beds however. the gutters look good and the leaves, don't enter the gutters. When I was up there recently decorating for christmas, I noticed that there is debris on top of the screening over the gutters. I don't know if that is a problem or not.

Overall, it was a good experience. The price was high, but the installation was done well, and the product itself is of a very high quality and comes with a lifetime warranty. The only issue was that the salesman mistakenly promised to repair the decking board and the soffit because the company isn't actually licensed to do roofing work. However, the installation manager called me to explain this issue, and we devised a satisfactory solution. Ultimately, I'm happy with the service and would recommend the company.
Description of Work: I hired them to install completely new gutters on my house that contain leaf filters.

Everything went well. They were at my house within a couple of days after I met with them, and they did a very good job with the installation. The crew was courteous and professional, they came back right away when I asked them to retrieve some old leaf filters, and they even called to follow up and ensure my satisfaction with the work.
Description of Work: They installed new leaf filters on the existing guttering system of a 3000 square foot house.

The gentleman arrived on time for the appointment, but he was somewhat pushy and only seemed interested in writing the estimate despite the fact that I was primarily interested in what the work would entail. Furthermore, the company ran a check of my credit without my permission which negatively impacted my credit score. When I phoned the gentleman about this issue, he became defensive and rude instead of trying to defuse the situation.
Description of Work: They provided an estimate for installing new leaf guards on my gutters.

Everything went well. They arrived on time, were professional and courteous, and did a decent job with the installation. They cleaned up after themselves, too.

We were given an initial estimate in which the linear feet was too excessive for the house which made the cost of the initial estimate twice of what it finally came to. I called the salesman on it and he re-measured, however, the gutter quote was 4 times the price I had received from two other companies especially when the gutter are just regular and nothing special. We decided not to go with this company for several reasons. The high pressure sales, over estimating of the product amount and the up-charging of the product made it clear that they were just interested in getting as much money out of us as possible so there was no sale.
