The worst experience of my life... Glass Creations Doors & Windows, 9850 Nesbit Ferry Road, Suite #4, Alpharetta, GA 30022 On 3/2/17, I provided a $2,500 deposit (50% down) towards a $5,000 front entrance door. Was told that installation would be in 4-6 weeks. All dealings were with the business owner. Long story short, I never got the door & eleven months later, the owner wouldn't refund my money. After the promised time period had passed, I went to the store to inquire about the status. Was greeted w/a big smile & told "a few more weeks". During this entire ordeal, I never received a phone call providing an update, nor apology for the delay. For eleven months, I continued to visit the store & continued to be greeted w/the same big smile & told "a few more weeks". February, 2018 (11 months after initial deposit), I visited the store to cancel the order. The owner was fine with me cancelling the order because he then confessed that he "didn't have the door" & said that he had "given it to the installer, who took off to Las Vegas & both he & the door cannot be located". I requested that the $2,500 deposit be credited back to my credit card. He replied that he "wasn't able to do this" & had a handful of excuses. When I asked that he give me a check, he replied that he "didn't have the money because business has been bad" & said that I would have to "wait for the money". After much prodding, he said he had an installation coming up for a customer & was also expecting a potential new customer to come in & give a down payment, in which case he would be able to give me "some of the money" the following week, (AKA robbing Peter to pay Paul). When that time period had passed, he said that the "installation was postponed because of rain" & the potential "new customer hadn't come in yet". More excuses! At this point, I reached out to the bank, but was told that they were unable/unwilling to credit my card because more than two months had passed. I had always heard that a customer would have recourse whenever using a credit card. I had no idea that there would be such a short time limit to file a dispute. Since it was still a few weeks short of a year, I expected to still be covered. I was about to initiate proceedings for Small Claims Court. However, as a last resort, I decided to write to the Better Business Bureau to see if they would be able to provide some assistance. I expected them to file a complaint with the merchant. Instead, the BBB filed the complaint against the bank. The bank contacted me immediately. My issue had now escalated up the ladder & the new people I was dealing with were in full agreement that my situation was justified for a dispute. The bank provided a "conditional credit" while they contacted the merchant, giving him 45 days to reply. The bank never heard from the merchant so, to my relief, the "conditional" credit became "permanent", a year after the initial deposit. The business owner didn't want to deal with me, so now he can deal with the bank! This one-year saga was a complete nightmare & the worst experience of my life.
