We had a miserable experience. It took them two years to complete the job. We finally had to get a lawyer to get them to go away. It was horrible, absolutely horrible. It's Paul Davis Restoration they are called. When we hired them to do the remodeling, put our house back together, we had to have a lot of work done, they put a sign on the front lawn that Paul Davis Restoration was going to be the contractor, and some lady stopped by and she spoke to me and she said she also had to hire a lawyer to get them to go away, and we had already hired them. So, she said, "They're terrible people". Anyway, so when I spoke to their representative I told him about what the lady had said and he said, "Oh no, she was a very difficult customer, and we're going to do right by you". So, they never did right by us. It was a very similar experience. So, I would say that's the most terrible experience I've ever had with any kind of contractor or anything. Paul Davis Restoration is awful. They completed it in 2006. There were days when they wouldn't come at all, days when they'd come an hour or so. My husband knows a little bit about construction and he would always inspect the work that they had done that day and a lot of it was on the roof and it was so shoddy he couldn't believe it and he had to go up and repair what they had done. Finally we got a lawyer, and my husband did the remaining bit of work that was left. It was an awful lot of damage, but they're really just busy, they come and stay for an hour and do a little bit and go away and then not come back for several days. Nothing seemed to get this people to move or to do it properly. It was the worst experience I've ever had. They lied to you all the time. They actually repaired our front porch and the guy that repaired it was so bad that we actually had to tear it down. My husband tore it down and we re-did it. My husband re-did it. It was so bad I couldn't believe it. We can't say enough bad about those people. I sure would warn anybody that I saw that was hiring them. That lady that came and warned us, of course we had already hired them. You think she sees the sign and she goes up to the door and she tells the people her experience, it took a lot of guts, but they assured me she was a crazy person. It was a horrible horrible experience. I would warn anybody I saw using them. We actually hired a lawyer and we just hired the lawyer to get them to go away before the job was finished and my husband got the paperwork done and he finished it himself.
Description of Work: In 2004, we had a tree falling in our house during the hurricane and we hired Paul Davis Remodeling company. There was a lot of damage to the ceiling, the walls, a lot of rain damage and the hurricane, an awful lot of damage to the house. There was a lot of things they had to do, ceiling, roof and add another room on which had been destroyed. The size of the tree was so big. It costs us $4500 dollars to had it towed away. That's how huge the tree was, so there was a lot of damage.
