My husband dealt with them primarily. He was pretty happy with the customer service he received. They were able to answer all of our landscaping questions. We feel we got a competitive price. They were the best price we found.

They did a great job. It was wonderful! Everyone who comes by and sees my grass, I tell them who did the work.

It turned out fine. They did a very nice job. They were here on time and they cleaned up well.

Council Growers matched the sod price of their competitors and gave me a discount on ground cover plants. Friendly and knowledgable customer service. My only concern was that some of the sod pieces seem to have been cut at different depths...my yard is a patchwork of varying heights. I'm hoping it will level out as the sod "settles" and roots fully establish.

Pricing was good. Professionalism was good over the phone. Seemed knowledgeable on their product. I didn't ultimately choose them for service but they seemed solid and were in the running. I found a slightly better deal elsewhere with a comparable merchant.

Travis Council came out and gave us an estimate. He also explained the difference between Zoysia and other grasses as well as the process involved in removing the old sod and replacing it. The estimate was accurate and well below others that we got estimated from for the same type of grass and work involved. The crew that came out did an excellent job and were prompt and efficient. My wife and I continue to be exceptionally pleased with how well we were treated, how good the price was, and how wonderful our lawn continues to look. We definitely recommend Council Growers to anyone looking to resod their lawn.

They got professional service but we decided not to go with them because of their price.

We needed to resod our entire front yard, about 8000 sq ft. Quotes from landscaping companies averaged about 6-7K for the job. By using council growers and throwing the sod ourselves, we cut the price in half. Their materials cost was cheaper than all of the other quotes by a mile. The sod was healthy and the company worked with us to answer all of our questions.

We wanted to get a new yard for the backyard which is on Tampa Bay. Travis came out and measured our yard and gave us an estimate for putting in a new lawn. They came out and treated the existing yard and then removed the grass down to dirt. They then adjusted the level of the dirt and then laid the new sod. Travis did an excellent job of explaining how much we needed to water and what to do for weeds etc in the future. The amazing part about this was that they showed up when they said they would. Travis is the man! We had gotten several estimates and Council Growers seemed to be the most honest. We made a trip out to the farm to select the type of grass and went with their specialty - Empire Zoysia. It has been about a year and a half and the grass looks awesome. We still have Floratam in the front yard and plan on replacing that with Council Empire later this year.

We had an EXCELLENT experience with them. We had hired a landscaper to overhaul our entire yard. The landscaper took out everything, including the sod. The landscaper had recommended a company that he used (Florida Turf), who is a middle man. When Florida Turf came to deliver the sod, it was brown and dead. I refused the delivery from them and their driver told me to shut up and that he wouldn't deal with me. A family member recommended that I try to find sod fresh from the grower. When I googled, Council Growers came up. I called and was able to speak to Travis Council who is the owner. He was incredibly nice and spent about 30 minutes talking to me about the various kids of grass. I told him we were looking for a grass that our child could play in and we were considering the zoysia. Travis was able to tell me all about the advantages/disadvantages of the grass and how to take care of it. Not only was Travis really nice, but his prices were VERY reasonable. Florida Turf was going to charge us $2000 for 4000 sq. ft of St. Augustine, which is less expensive than zoysia. Council cut the grass on Monday 8/22/11 and delivered it the same day. The grass was green and gorgeous! Their driver was incredibly nice as well. We paid $1,616 for 4000 sq. ft of Zoysia grass, which was the cheapest price that I had found anywhere. This price included a $249 freight charge and the pallet deposit. They will refund the pallet deposit if you return them. In this case, they were in Wimauma and I'm in N. Pinellas County, so we did not return the pallets. Besides the quality of the grass, I was most impressed with Travis' willingness to take about 10 calls from me regarding questions on fungicide, insecticide and how to use the fungicide we purchased. He's an incredibly nice and patient man and does not get annoyed by questions. I am incredibly happy with Council Growers and would definitely use again.
