James is a true artist who love each piece of furniture he works on. He refinished a buffet from 1959 and it is gorgeous. So thrilled. Would recommend him over and over again.

James did refinishing work on a very large Balinese weaving table that had seen better days, including three years in storage. The table was restored beautifully without losing any of its character and is now gracing the living room of my apartment in Palm Beach, Florida. I highly recommend the work of the Woodsmith!!

James did a terrific job refinishing our heavily carved mahogany front doors that were discolored, cracked and all together in bad shape. He shaved off part of the bottom so they open and close properly, fixed the cracks with filler, stripped off the old stain (really difficult to do with all of the carved images) and then restained it 5 times, and covered it with a urethane finish. He really brought the doors back to life. He also recommended a brass refinisher who made the handles look like new again. Thanks, James!
