Description of Work: Twice yearly system maintenance

Description of Work: Called to reinstall my 2 year old AC unit which was improperly installed by the previous owner, yet still functional. Mr. Morris came and did what seemed to be a very thorough evaluation so I decided to go with his company even though his estimate was 1700.00, about 1500.00 more than the previous quote I'd gotten. I scheduled for about a week later and was asked to give a 850.00 deposit, which I did. I was under the assumption that Mr. Morris would be one of the techs coming out to do the work but he was not. When the two techs came to my house the AC was on and blowing cold. They set out to begin the work and about 1/2 hour later came in and stated that my compressor was blown. Strange coincedence that the compressor should blow on a 2 year old unit at the same time the techs were there. The tech called Mr. Morris and I was told that I would be charged another 900.00 on top of the 1700.00 for a new compressor. When I asked the tech how it could be blown when it was just working he said he didn't have an explanation and that yes, it was a strange coincedence. I then called the office and after speaking with the office staff several times, Mr. Morris finally got in touch with me. He said that his son would never do anything to damage my AC and that the other tech was the son of a police chief..what that has to do with anything I still don't know. I told him I didn't think they did it intentionally. I figured that Mr. Morris, the owner, would have wanted to come out and evaluate the situation for himself rather than risk losing business, but he did not seem interested in that. I asked for my deposit back and told him I wanted to get another opinion. They were very prompt in getting a check sent back to me (2 days) and gave me no problems when I asked for the refund. After about a day and a half of no AC in August I found another company to come out. This tech was at my home for about 15 minutes when he came to me and said that apparantly a wire on the compressor was knocked and came loose. It took him maybe another 5 to 10 minutes and my AC was back on and working fine. This company gave me an estimate of 1500.00 to do the reinstall and my AC is working great. The techs and office staff at Marc Morris were, for the most part, all very polite but the overall quality of service was very disappointing, and the fact that Mr. Morris did not care enough to come out to take a second look told me that he really did not care about retaining my business or about referalls.

Description of Work: My thermostat was broken, along with a few other issues. They came out when expected and fixed it all at a price lower than originally quoted. They are good, local Temple Terrace people.

Description of Work: The service from Marc Morris Air was outstanding, from the initial meeting to the final work. The men who came for the install were polite, efficient and cleaned up after everything they did. Daniel, the owner's son, worked harder than anyone, and made sure that everything worked perfectly. My house is old and complicated (a package unit)and the unit they built for the outside was massive. All of the workers were friendly and kept smiling even through the heat. The women in the office all were friendly and on the ball also. They always called when the workers left to head out to my house. It took 3 days for the re-do the duct work and install the monster air handler, and the inspection went great. If all companies worked as professionally as this one, the world would be a better place. I highly recommend Marc Morris Air. They were a pleasure to do business with.
