We brought our mother-in-law's Toyota Corolla in because it had not cooled well during an outing to see if it needed a recharge or repair. Rather than asking us to come in early in the morning and wait potentially hours to wait to be seen (such as SOS Repair), Jay told us if we brought it in right away, he would take a look at it, which he did. He took it apart, found no problems, and gave us his card and told us to call him if it happened again, so he could look at it happening. When we offered to pay him for his work, he refused. Here is a true professional that stands out from the crowd.

Purchased faulty engine, and they wouldn't replace it even though it was still under warrantee. Had another shop check it out for second opinion a week after installation. Brought it back for adjustment or replacement. They kept vehicle in shop for over a week without resolution. Would never recommend or refer anyone for service. Tried to over charge over $200 for another repair that was only $15.

Initially when my A/C wasn't up to snuff, I went to Ice Cold Air for a recharge. When they recharged it they noted that the system had a leak and might not hold a charge long. It was about a month and I went back for them to complete the repair. They replaced the evaporator and recharged the A/C. After a week it still was not cold like it used to be and they tweaked the system by evacuating the coolant, flushing the system and recharging it...this follow up service was at no additional cost. Now my A/C is working like it ought to! I am very pleased!! Jay and the team are awesome!

They were very courteous, prices were good, they honored coupons I had, service was very quick, staff was friendly. I had two issues however, first the wheels I brought in were aluminum (softer than steel) and whatever machine they used for mounting tires put 'teeth' marks all around the wheels that gouged into the metal.... since I needed to return those wheels that created a big problem. Also it appears the guy took a crow bar and drug it around the edge of a wheel to remove the tire, this destroyed that edge. The second issue was that the tires were directional so I informed them that two needed to go in one direction and two needed to go the other direction so they could be spinning the right way on the car. I ended up getting three in one direction and one in the other. I still think they were a very nice company and I would go back but I don't think I would have tire work done there.

Service was very professional. They were able to order a used lock actuator for me. their price for part and labor was almost $300 dollars less than the dealership. Estimated cost was accurate and everything went very well except a delay when the wrong part was delivered initially. Overall I was very pleased and paln to go back when I need additional auto maintenance.

I called the number posted on Angie"s List prior to going and spoke with Jay from all of the reviews. He was courteous and professional. I was told to come right in and they took the van in and I asked about a fee for diagnostics and he told me there would not be one. This surprised me and then they told me it would be around 450.00 for parts and labor. The AC was losing freon as fast as we could put it in. They found the faulty hose and replaced it, I waited for them to complete the repairs and after being there from about 1000am it was done at around 430 pm it was buried behind everything.

They provides top notch service. I have taken my car to this location several times and never had a bad experience. They provide honest pricing and great service. During one instance I took my took my car in due to an unusual noise the car was making. It turns out the Honda Dealership never secured my tire and the tire was close to flying off and causing a major accident. They took a look at my car fixed the issue and did not take advantage of my situation. It is the best automotive shop I have been to. It's the perfect place to bring your car for top notch care.

I had a new compressor and hose was installed by Auto Air Innovators on Sligh Ave, in Tampa, FL ). I was charges approx. $1,100.00 by Auto Air Innovators but my A/C did not when my 1987 Nissan 300 ZX left their shop. I was told by them to take it to an expert ZX shop for resolution.Ice Cold Air on South Dale Mabry Avenue in Tampa, FL. attempted to fix/correct the work previously preformed by Auto Air Innovators . They tried everything but could not get the unit to work. I was not charged any money for their efforts. They worked on my 1987 Nissan 300 ZX for 3-4 weeks but could not get the air to work. Ashley Butler and Jay Piniella the Shop managers were excellent to work with.I am still trying to find a A/C shop that can get my A/C to work. I am at a big disadvantage because of the work that was performed by Auto Air Innovators. Auto Air innovators is on your list of reliable A/C shops; It is my opinion that they should be removed from your list. Please take this as a recommendation for Ice Cold Air and a serious complaint for Auto Air Innovators. I initially gave ICA (Ice Cold Air) a failing review because they failed to repair a vehicle we brought in for service. Since then, the issue has been addressed and resolved. Below is what happened. We brought a friends SUV in for a leak in the radiator. We had done our research and called around for estimates and Ice Cold Air (ICA) at this location seemed to have it together. Our friend is on disability and a fixed income and we were helping him out. Our pockets were not that deep either and we told them as much. "No Problem", they said, "we can replace the radiator for $350". The next day, our friend gets a call with an estimate of nearly $800. He calls us frantic. Working in Tallahassee, I was not there to visit the shop, so I called ICA and asked to speak to the manager. Apparently, I was told that we were wrong in our diagnosis and it was the water pump that was leaking, spraying water onto the radiator and that was what needed to be replaced. "Wait, $800 for a water pump? Can you break this down for me and tell me how a $350 radiator turned into a $800 water pump?" I was assured that when they did a pressure test on the system, that water was coming out from all around the water pump and the pressure pop-off cap was blown. The price included a new pump with a lifetime warranty on it (this is a 99 Chevy blazer... it's reached its lifetime already). They were also going to do a power flush and replace the thermostat. He also admitted there was an error on the estimate, bringing it down from $800 to $740 for all this. I re-iterated our fixed funds and we started shaving things off until all we had left was the pump which was in our budget. I was assured that would fix the problem and authorized the work. A day or two later, our friend received a call that the vehicle was ready, my wife (still in Tampa) took our friend to pick it up. The bill came to $380, which we paid and left. On the way home, our friend said he was getting worried. The temperature gauge was near red line again. When he got it back to his apartment, it was steaming. He called me in Tallahassee and I told him to let it cool down and then check the fluids. When he did, the radiator (on the inside) and overflow were dry. The radiator where we saw the first leak was wet. There also was a puddle of water and coolant under his car. He called and asked to speak to the manager. The manager told him the tech who worked on it was off that day, but he would try to get a hold of him. When he called our friend back, he explained that he "saw this coming" when we refused all the other work and that a hose must have cracked or the thermostat was too hot and it blew out whatever stop leak we had initially used. My friend resigned and called me. So I called and spoke to Jay, the manager. I asked him how they came up with an water pump when we brought it in for a radiator and this is what he told me. * The tech brought the car in and put it on the lift. * With the engine running, they put a pressure tool on the radiator to bring the system up to 25 - 30 PSI. * The tech then inspected the system and found water spewing out of the blow out cap. * -- Note: This cap blows under pressure (positive 30 or negative 10 PSI) and indicates to mechanics that the water pump is bad. (The cap is not a replaceable item and this also rules out needing just a gasket.) * Once the pump was replaced, they did another pressure test and found no leaks, not even in the radiator. * The tech let the SUV run run to get to temperature and did another test with the same results. He did this several times within an hour in the bay and saw no other leaks. He also reportedly took it on a test drive and found no issues. That being said, Jay informed me that since they did not "flush the radiator", that some of the stop leak material could have dislodged while driving. I expressed my disbelief, stating it would have had to "blow through" a hole as cooling system is under pressure (15-25 PSI) while driving and that type of hole would have been pretty obvious under an inspection. He then said that the lower hose was spongy and could have cracked. I again expressed my disbelief, stating a spongy hose would have blown and not cracked (dry hoses crack). I also informed him that I had given him permission to replace a hose if it was in that bad of shape. Everything was a shift in the blame because (I felt) we did not agree to all of his suggestions. I let him know that I was not happy. I then told him that I would be down the coming weekend to look at it. If it is a radiator and is obvious something they should have caught,I would be writing this review. I let him know that I know my way around cars and had run a service station 20 years ago, so I am pretty confident in what I am talking about. He bid me a good day. Once I was back in town, our friend brought his SUV into my own (home) garage and I inspected it. After putting water into the radiator directly, it start leaking right where we said it was before with out the engine being on or under any pressure. How could they have missed it? To get a closer look, I removed the air cleaner and found an old, rusted screwdriver resting near the radiator (the handle pressed up against the radiator, but not where it was leaking from). Still, a tech doing his job to find a radiator leak should have seen it. It is my belief that running a pressure test on a cooling system that had a aged water pump caused the blowout cap to fail, spewing water all over. Those caps weaken with age and putting them under a pressure test at "full spec pressure" can lead them to blow prematurely. When I ran a full-service station, our training including looking for those types of water pumps and lowering the pressure when leak testing or flushing the system. Because we had already spent the money replacing a pump that (in my opinion was fine), we were forced to spend the day replacing the radiator (and thermostat) ourselves. While it was not an easy task, it was manageable. Upon inspection of the radiator (once removed), we found a hole large enough that I doubt any amount of sealant would have closed it. Our friend's SUV is now running cool (within specs) and has no leaks. The hoses which in the break down would have cost an additional $100, were still in decent shape (flexible, yet firm). Since this time, the owner Ashley Butler and I have resolved the issue. She called me and we discussed the issue. She said she would use it as a teaching opportunity for her management and technicians. She was very professional through the whole discussion and she said she appreciated me being so as well. I advised her that I would raise the review up to a C (from the F), but after working with her and seeing just how much she cared (she told me that she was sick reading what had happened and her stomach actually turned when she read we had found an old tool next to the radiator that they should have found), her professionalism raised it to a solid B. Would I use them again? I don't know. They have good reviews and a leader who appears to care very much about customers, so it is hard to say. Perhaps our experience was a fluke, I just cannot say.

I received a free oil change and tire rotation on Angie's List. Thank God I brought the Vehicle in. They could not do a tire rotation due to the fact that the tires were rotted (my father gave me the vehicle and it had sit for a couple of years) I had the oil change done before my family went on vacation. I can honestly say "Jay saved or lives". I didn't even realize that the tires were that bad!! The vehicle only had 51,000 miles on it. All I can say is I am very thankful for Jay.

My Honda Pilot was scheduled for routine maintenance at 65K miles and needed the oil changed, tires rotated, and rear differential fluid changed. I had a coupon for Angie's Listers for the oil change/tire rotation and figured I'd spend somewhere south of $100 for the rear differential fluid. I mistakenly agreed to have the transmission fluid changed along with routine maintenance to the transfer case. I also had the spark plugs replaced although I am unsure whether any of these services were necessary. I should have done more research in preparation of my visit but only decided to look into the scheduled Honda maintenance afterwards. My mistake. In reviewing the bill, I discovered the rear differential fluid was never addressed. Service was fine. Timeliness was as to be expected from a garage. I simply feel like I agreed to services I didn't truly need and didn't get the rear differential service I had scheduled in the first place.

The car was 12 years old and suddenly not cooling. Took the car in and it seemed like a minor repair, fixed in a short while for $156. Drove off and noise I hadn't heard before. Returned car and they worked on again. More repairs needed. I'm in Starbucks til the end of the day-a full day. Go for test drive and discover car is not cool. Bottom line it needed major work. Had to bring car back another day. Meanwhile, I had dealer review and it definitely needed the work. Why there was an original diagnostic problem, I don't know. However, it did get fixed and I continued at Ice Cold Air because the dealer would have been much more expensive and they confirmed the work was needed. Thru all this, they were very pleasant and the price was very reasonable. They ended up charging me the price that I would have paid at the initial diagnosis if it was for the more serious problem. I can't say why the initial diagnosis was incorrect other than that an error was made and it took basically three steps to get the repair completed. However, I couldn't rate higher because it did get inconvenient and I did have to pay the dealer for an additional evaluation. It's hard for me to say how well the a/c worked as shortly after this repair I had additional expenses with my car and decided to buy a new car. But the a/c seemed to be working fine for the period until I had some further problems with the car.

We would like to like to congratulate you on your new car and looking forward to building a further relationship with you.

I called up Jay and he said I could bring the car anytime (they close at 2 on Saturdays). I dropped it off with him. After calling me to let me know he had to do a diagnostic I said ok. Then he called me to let me know what the issue was. He kept me informed and was prompt with everything. He even stayed until 230 to get the job done. Very professional people and you can tell they do a lot of business there. The parking lot was full but they still got my wife's car fixed quickly. I will go there again.
Description of Work: Got my wife's 02 jeep gr Cherokee checked out for a check engine light and low idle. Turned out to be a sensor that needed replacing. The car is running fine now and no light. Jay was courteous and explained everything to us. The only thing is diagnostics are $90, which is pretty steep just to find out what the issue is. I guess that's the case anywhere you go. Overall, they were great and I would recommend them.

The Ice Cold Air team thanks you Customer! We are glad that our service advisor kept you so informed and that we could check your engine light and low idle. We greatly appreciate your feedback. We saw that you gave us a B on pricing, so we reviewed your work order and just wanted to explain our pricing. We initially charge for our time (pricing depends on the type of service, in this case $90), from there if we tell you that your car needs this and you do the repair, we take the $90 off and then you are only charged for that repair, no diagnostic fee. If you decline the repair order, we charge only that diagnostic fee for time and experience. I hope that can clear some things up for you and we look forward to seeing you again!

The AC was not cooling. The care was taken in around 10:30am, 5/26/12. Icy Air performed a diagnostic test and found that a hose to the air system had dry rotted and was causing a leak . They were very professional and knowledgable in explaining the problem, what was required to make the repair, the cost, and the amount of time to do the repair. The job was completed around 2:00.

I brought my vehicle in and they correctly diagnosed the problem within a couple of hours and provided an accurate estimate. I had an Angie's list coupon for a tire rotation & oil change, which they also did during while they diagnosed the problem. I brought my vehicle in on Monday, and although they thought that they could get the job completed in one day, they ran into problems and couldn't. They therefore paid for a rental vehicle for me. Even though it took longer to do the job, they kept with their original estimate. Their price was roughly HALF the price of the dealer. So far, everything is fine, and I have a one year warranty in case anything goes wrong. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone needing service on their vehicle.
Description of Work: My air conditioner in my Toyota Prius stopped working. They correctly diagnosed the problem as a leak in the evaporator, which is inside the passenger compartment within the dashboard. The job was labor intensive and required removal of the dashboard.

I would trust this company to repair any heating and air issues I might have in the future.
Description of Work: I called to schedule an appointment as my air conditioner was not blowing cold air. He walked me through all of the steps I needed to defrost my air conditioner hose and recommended that I change all of my filters. He felt certain that this would solve my problem and it did!

I used their Angie's List coupon to get a basic oil change & tire rotation, then upgraded to the synthetic oil pkg when I arrived. They suggested I change the air and cabin filters, they showed me the parts and I agreed. One of those parts was included in the upgraded pkg, I paid for the less expensive of the two. Ashley, the owner, was very professional and friendly. The waiting area, and even the bathroom, was clean. They said it would take "about an hour." I recall it took about an hour and 15 min.
