Description of Work: I was looking for a small, locally-owned repair shop after the one I had patronized for 11 years moved out of the area. Then my 2015 Honda Odyssey was in the Aug 1 flood in S. Tampa on Kennedy Blvd. The waters rose so high my van was floating and my feet were submerged as I drove. | |My insurance company provided full coverage, which I set up with Bob Noriega, the shop owner. I wanted to give my business to a small, independent shop (not a dealer!), so found them on Angie's List and decided to give them a try. After speaking with Bob, I knew this was the right choice. He has lots of experience with insurance companies and knew how to get supplemental coverage for damage that was discovered after the initial claim. | |This was very important because of the electronics in this vehicle and because the vehicle was only a few months old. He had a crew member take me home after I dropped it off and they brought me back when it was ready to be picked up. When another storm came through, he assured me that my vehicle would be stored inside to be protected from the elements. | |Bob and his crew had all of the upholstery removed and replaced and checked the electronics as well as the engine. He discovered damaged emissions control parts and as well as other engine parts. He went in for supplemental coverage 3 times to make sure all of the damage was addressed. His shop was a joy to work with. I will be taking my older vehicle back there when it needs maintenance. When my warranty runs out on my Odyssey I will be taking it there too. I highly recommend this shop!

 + -1 moreShortly after dropping off my car for servicing, I received a call from Bob, owner of Autoworks, telling me I had heater hoses that were getting ready to burst, and also had an oil leak. He gave me the estimated cost to repair the problems. I told him to do whatever was necessary to repair my car. Bob went over all the repairs made, and the 30 point inspection check list. He pointed out the 2 year warranty on the repairs made. I was given a ride home after dropping off my car and was picked up when my car was ready. I also received a complimentary car wash. My car looks and runs beautiful! I have been a customer for many years and I trust Autoworks of Tampa with all my automotive needs. They are very friendly and go out of their way to make certain you receive the best professional care for your automotive needs.
Description of Work: Replaced power window motor, replaced broken heater hoses, heater control valve, fill and bleed cooling system. Test for thermostat and fan operation; replaced oil pressure switch for fuel pump; oil, lube, and filter service with 30 point inspection; checked out noise heard per request.

 + -1 moreIt would have cost them around $600.00 to remove the part where the noise was to get out the piece that was causing the noise. They did not accept that what they did may have caused the piece to drop into where the noise was coming from. Other than being a little high priced this was the first problem I ever had with them. They had always tried to save me money on repairs before this incident.
Description of Work: The car was making a noise when it was cold. After they contacted me to tell me what was wrong and the price, which I ok'd, the noise was louder than ever.

 + -1 moreWe were having some rumbling in my wife's Kia Sorrento (2005) going from first gear into second gear. It was getting worse and the car started to make some more sounds and started to whine. My wife had heard some good things about these guys being honest, fair price, etc, so we decided to take the car in rather than mess with the dealership. We were very pleased. John and his brother were honest, and really explained what they were doing with pictures and even the parts themselves, always stopping what they were doing to walk over and explain things to us. Very focused on customer service. Very friendly. Their shop wasn't much to look at, tucked in just North of Hillsborough on Nebraska, but nothing in that area is. To be honest, I didn't miss the amenities of the dealership, since we never sat around wasting time waiting on anything. We physically went to the shop three different times due to the more complex nature of our problem and never, ever waited more than 2 minutes to get direct, personal service from either John or his brother. We were really worried about the transmission and had been told by the Kia Dealer to have it replaced at their dealership (naturally). John wasn't interested in delivering us bad advice, he was only interested in fixing the problem as quickly and as inexpensively as possible, and was very honest about it. Great guys.
Description of Work: Drive Shaft connector replaced, U-joints inspected and not replaced, Transmission serviced (NOT replaced--woo-hoo!), and oil change.
