I called and made an appointment last week for 4 pm today, to install a grab bar in my shower. Several times, they said they would call me back before we set this time, and they did not. At 4:30 on the day of the appointment, they had not called or showed up. I called them. They said they basically got busy and forgot our appointment. They asked if they could re-schedule for tomorrow morning, and I said 'no.' It is amazing how bad the quality of contractors is in this area. Money talks, I guess.
Description of Work: Nothing. Failed to show up for an appointment.

Mr. {Member's name removed}, I regret that your experience (or inexperience) with us left you dissatisfied sufficient to feel it necessary to write this review. We do in fact get extremely busy at times and do our best to prioritize our work and our customers in the fairest manner possible. Additionally, we do not make a practice of leaving a project incomplete in order to attend to another. I’m certain you would support that policy had it been your home we were working in while being asked to be elsewhere. Sadly, it is the nature of remodeling that things do not always work out on a precise schedule. We do our absolute best to be fair, and honest with every customer without regard to scope of their project. I apologize that our offer to reschedule was unacceptable and that you found our communication inadequate. We take our reputation very seriously and do sincerely regret your feeling so mistreated.

Really no details yet. He was punctual, courteous, and professional. He identified a structural problem and recommended an expert in that area to correct the problem before doing the work I had contacted him about. So that is in process now. After that is complete, I will get an estimate for the work I want done, and then will be better able to review.

Description of Work: Accessibility Solutions is continuing to work on things at my house. They took out a wall, trimmed it out and installed a large counter.

Accessibility Solutions owner John Pettit worked with us to design and install a very functional and lovely solution. Part of a wall was removed, double pocket doors were installed between the bedroom and the bathroom, a lavatory cabinet was installed in the bedroom, new lighting and outlets installed, a walk in tub and a wheelchair accessible corner shower were installed in the bathroom, everything repainted, new flooring added. The total cost of the renovation was $17,897. Prior to this experience, our history using contractors was not good. Twenty years ago, we had to sue the contractor who took 18 months to build our house and made many mistakes in the process (we won) and since that time, have experienced other smaller contractors who did not return calls, did not show up when promised, and did poor quality work, thus we were extremely skeptical dealing with yet another contractor. What a delightful change it was to discover that every single member of the staff of Accessibility Solutions was dependable, professional, thoughtful, and quite pleasant. They answered every phone call within about an hour, they always showed up on time, they completed the work ahead of schedule, they cleaned up every single day (though not much clean up was necessary because they hung curtains in all doorways and covered all of the flooring to protect the rest of the house from dust). Instead of leaving behind even a speck of construction debris, they actually cleaned up better than it had been prior to beginning the construction. They constantly asked us to check to make certain that they were doing everything exactly as we wanted. And the construction workers were so sweet to my mom that she was quite disappointed to learn that when they finished the renovation, they were not coming back—she asked if we could please think of something else to renovate so she could see the construction workers again. I never thought I'd say that renovating a bathroom was a pleasant experience, but Accessibility Solutions made it easy and fun. Plus, they did beautiful work—it is truly lovely. Accessibility Solutions is at 3013 West Tharpe Street Tallahassee FL 32303, (850) 383-1100.
Description of Work: In October of 2011, we needed to renovate one of our bedrooms and bathrooms to make them wheelchair accessible for my 92 year old mother.
