dryer vent cleaning
+ -1 moreI really liked that he explained the process that he was doing. I had the dryer vent done before, but they usually come in with blower and they blow all the vent up through the vent and through the roof. This guy didn’t do it this way. He actually has an almost like a chimney sweep type of brush and he feeds it up through the vent and what it does is it captures and cleans out all the lint from the sides and everything. We also had a problem with it being completely dry, our drier was a brand new and it never used to work we thought, but he determined that there was some sort of blockage and he said that the vent is not properly put in, so he didn’t actually fix it but he had a friend, a handyman, who deals with it and he came out and sure enough that the whole vent was installed incorrectly and so the air was not flowing out. He was the first one even bothered to catch that and we had people come out. I was just really impressed. He went up in the attic, it’s like 120 degrees in there and tried to fix it himself and he said he was not really qualified to take this apart. He said if it was a simple job, he could do it. He said something was wrong there. He said, the whole line had to be taken apart and a hole needs to be cut and sure enough he was right on.

He was very polite and courteous and answered all my questions with patience and understanding, performed the work in a timely manner without rushing through the project. He replaced everything very neatly after the job was done, gave me instructions as to when the dryer vents will need to be done again. He gave me a report first about the condition of my dryer vents before he started the work. I was very satisfied with the whole overall experience and would definitely hire him again and also recommend him to any one else.
Description of Work: Cleaned and removed any dirt or lint from my dryer vent. Checked the outside of the vent as well.

+ 1 moreThey are fantastic! He was so professional and clean, he was also fast and efficient. I had called him and left a message to have him look at a possible repair for our dryer vent. He called me back 5 minutes later and said he was in the area and was at our house in 15 minutes. He didn't have the tools he needed for the job so he came back on a Sunday and did the repair. He went above and beyond!
Description of Work: We have used them twice for a chimney sweep. He also cleaned out and repaired our dryer vent.

+ 2 moreI wish I could remember the approximate date, but it was late 2011 or early 2012 when he performed the work. We are very pleased and were able to use our fireplace with confidence.
Description of Work: We had the firebrick replaced and he repaired a dent made by a previous chimney sweeper. He was honest and reliable as well as his price was more reasonable than the previous chimney sweeper. I would highly recommend him to anyone for chimney cleaning and repairs.

+ 1 moreVery easy to schedule the appointment. Owner operator was on time and explained what he was going to do. He cleaned my dryer vent from the dryer to the roof. Went on the roof to ensure vent was working properly. I asked him to check on my attic fans and to look at my gutters. Found out the gutters need cleaning and was able to do that as well. I love working with owners, they will always do a great job! I will now use his services going forward. Thanks for a great job!

Description of Work: The technician moved the dryer out of the small laundry closet in our hall, laying down a protective mat on the floor. He adjusted the louvre door, and it is a very narrow space all the way around, so this wasn't easy, but it was obvious this man was experienced and a hard worker! He disconnected the tubing that goes from the back of the dryer up through the attic and vents out the roof, cleaning it with a combination "snake" type thing and a vacuum. He also cleaned inside of the dryer and the floor as he went--it seemed like a "mountain" of lint coming out of that tube! When he got as far as he could this way, he went on the roof and removed more lint from there. He also tested the air flow before and after, cleaned the remaining lint when he came inside, allowed me to clean the outside of the machine and the floor, then put it all back, fixed the door. He was courteous, hard-working and professional. He did all of this in 30 minutes or less, and the price was exceptional, $30 less than another place I called, $20 less than another service's price when I used them a couple of years ago. Since the work was done, my dryer has been quite measurably more efficient, taking less time to dry loads, and unlike before he came out, I do not have to run any loads through two or three times.

+ -1 moreHe showed up exactly when he said that he would and promptly began the job. Since I never had the chimney inspected I took the opportunity to ask lots of questions. He took the time to thoroughly answer all my queries and explained other features of the fireplace that I had not noticed. He pointed out a small crack in back wall and gave me a price for fixing it but didn't push that it had to be fixed right away. He cleaned up after the job and when he left the only evidence that he had been there was a clean fireplace and chimney. I would definitely use him again.
Description of Work: I had Aabrams come in to clean a chimney in a house that I recently bought. The chimney looked as if it had never been cleaned before.

Appointment was set and not only they were punctual they called and asked if they could come earlier. Bernard did an excellent job cleaning and inspecting the chimney. + -1 moreA previous job held up the service person, but he called when he was running late and provided an idea of his arrival. Once on the site, the service person did a great job cleaning out the large amount of lint and dust that had collected in the dryer vent. The service took less than an hour and it included an inspection of the dryer outlet on the roof. Very nice, very professional and would recommend to others.

+ 0 moreMy dryer is only 1 year old and hasn't worked well since it was installed by Home Depot. It was taking 2-3 hrs. or more to dry a medium load of permanent press! I called Home Depot on 1/30, and he told me it wasn't the machine. He advised me to call a professional vent cleaner. Good thing I found one in my Jan. 2010 Angies List catalog as I was unsuccessful in fiding one from the yellow pages! I called Aabrams and had an early appt. the next day. The technician was excellent, as was the service! The dry now gets hot enough to dry the clothes. As I hadn't had the chimney cleaned in 20 yrs., I decided to have that done too. He advised me that it needed new panels, but did not push me to purchase them right away. He also told me I could burn a small Duraflame log if I wanted to. If you need any of these services, I recommend you call Aabrams for a job well done! I would also recommend calling them prior to having a new dryer installed, as installers just install; they don't check that your vents are clear (even though that's Step #1 in the dryer manual.)
