I have seen him for allergies and stitches before. I had a fall and they put stitches in at a fraction of a cost that the ER would. They are excellent in terms of price and punctuality.

We have never had to wait more then 5 minutes. They also do emergency care here. The guy I see is a Harvard grad, super sharp and we enjoy him. We go there for just about anything we have problems with.

I survived. Dr Patel who drilled out and put in stents was very good. Unfortunately Cardiology Assoc has a monopoly. I do not like the doctors in the practice. From here to Emory Univ for a TAVR. DOES NOT BELONG IN DENTISTRY......THIS IS A HOSPITAL
Description of Work: I was very scared waiting to have a delicate heart surgery, and laying on the operating table....all I could see was a crucifix above each door. It made me sick. I am not against religious things, but not in a case like this.

Could not have been better. Was seen within 15 minutes in the emergency room. Was quickly diagnosed with a kidney stone being passed. Was treated quickly to relieve pain. Remained in Emergency room for eight hours, until the stone passed. My condition was continuously monitored, and treatment was provided as needed. The entire staff was very professional and personable. I have been treated several times in Bay Medical Center, both in the emergency room and as an inpatient. They are an excellent hospital. I will use them whenever I need a medical facility.

They have state or national notoriety for their heart department. Everything was done well. They found the issues and took care of them. The aftercare was great. The hospital covers everything. The service was really good and the people were really good. The care for him after his heart attack was good all the way around. The hospital was clean and everything was there. The staff was helpful and there were no issues with the hospital. My father was able to go back there and get whatever he needed. It was an emergency so they rushed everything through and that was needed based on the situation we were in. There are some hospitals that don't care and make you fill up the paper work and all that before you go in and they were not like that. They got everything done and everything was quick. The follow up care was good and there were no mistakes in the paper work. When we needed somebody we were able to get hold of the nurses and they were no issues of having to wait for anything. He was either in intensive care or moved but they watched him very closely any way. The staff was really nice and supportive. They let the family know what was going on at all times and when there was a question, if the person didn't know they got an answer.
Description of Work: My dad was admitted to Bay Medical Center for some heart problems. My father has been going there for the past five years. They recently were bought out by Sacred Heart Health System.

Their services were very good. The one thing that I didn't like about them is that they had trainees on the floor constantly from the local college. They were training at the hospital and were pretty intrusive. They didn't give me any peace because I had to keep repeating all the information that I have told them several times before. It was always a different team that I will have to repeat my information to which could be 2-3 times in a day sometimes. It was very annoying especially because I was sick. It takes a long time to get a bed. It took me 6-7 before I was able to get a hospital bed. There was something wrong with the communication between the emergency room and the hospital; it's not running smoothly. They told me the reason was because I was slow but that was not the reason at all. There was something wrong there and I think there is a glitch somewhere.

When we got to the emergency room, they took down our insurance information and sent us back to the waiting room. and we waited and we waited. The people around us has been waiting for 6-8 hours. We wife stood up and nearly passed out. We left and went to the Gulf coast Hospital where the immediately started working on her. Since we had insurance, we got better treatment than the poor people at Bay Medical Center.
Description of Work: My wife had a severe breathing problem so I took her to the Bay Medical emergency room.

I have been there three times and I am going back again. They are very good and I like that hospital, but usually I am not a big fan of hospitals. They are attentive and very aware of patient needs. They are very responsive. They are definitely commited to their profession. I thought that they provided excellent medical service.

Overall I am unsettled and disappointed in this E.R. visit. It's simply common courtesy to, as a professional, introduce yourself and state why you have entered a patient's room and what your intentions are to be in that room. Such a small thing to ask that begins to establish a good rapport between professional and a hurting patient. But, my disappointment and 'a bone to pick with' ; even though 'Tony' was rude and wrong in his diagnosis of me and that foot x-ray, he still received his money and went on his ignoble happy way as though nothing had occurred.
Description of Work: A 60 lb. weight fell on my left foot. I was wearing sandals. Hurt badly; brought tears to my eyes for about 30 seconds. Immediately could not place any weight on my left foot. My dear wife drove me to Bay Medical Center's Emergency Department in Panama City, Florida. Wait time about 20 minutes. Triage Nurse took my history and we were placed in a patient room in that Emergency Department. Of the approximately 4 people that entered this room, with no name tags, one took my vital signs, a nurse assistant, then 'the nurse'. Only the x-ray tech. with his x-ray machine on wheels introduced himself and stated why he was in my room and that he was there to x-ray my left foot. I had to ask each other person who they were and why they entered my room. I was 'hurtin' for certain' and my left foot was swollen up nicely by this time and turning a bit blue in color. In about 20 or 30 more minutes a man entered my room. Again, no introduction as to who he was and why he was now in my room. I asked him "who are you?" His reply with a half grin "well, who are you? I replied 'I'm the patient! You don't know my name?' He then said 'my name is Tony, I'm the P.A. (Physician Assistant) on duty.' Then he said ' I've reviewed your x-ray and there is nothing but swelling and inflammation showing on your film.' He prescribed me one lortab, a type of shoe/sandal with a solid wood bottom and ties across the top so your foot wouldn't bend as you walk. I was discharged and my dear wife helped me back out to our vehicle in the parking lot. After about 15 minutes into the ride back home my cell phone rang. It was 'a nurse' from that Emergency Department stating 'Sir, the Radiologist has reviewed your x-ray and states you have broken your left big toe in the first knuckle of your big toe as if a person snapped a tooth pick in half. He suggests you see a bone Doc. as soon as possible.' Then she asked ' would you like to speak to the P.A. that treated you?' I replied ' No, does he want to speak to me?'... thinking he might show some kind of respect and at least apologize, but of course, he had nothing to say to me. Very soon I was able to receive an appointment at a bone orthopedic clinic. Of course had to see another P.A.; as opposed to a 'real' Doctor. But this gentleman knocked on the door of this patient room, walked in and immediately introduced himself to my wife and myself, shook my hand, and stated why he was in my room to see me. I only wish I could remember his name. He had the actual x-ray taken at the previous Emergency Department in hand and showed me this x-ray on the light box they place x-rays on to see the x-ray. He pointed out the fracture to me and it was plane as day that a lay person as myself could see the fracture!

Response from Bay Medical Center
We would like to extend our sincerest apologies to the member for his experience last year in our emergency department. Customer service is a top priority in our hospital and we offer ongoing training in all departments to ensure our patients are treated courteously (including proper greetings and introductions) and that all treatments and tests are explained. In fact, as a result of our customer service initiatives, we’ve made some significant changes in our emergency department since the member's visit. We’ve brought in a new team of physicians and PAs and have hired a new nursing director and manager for the department. We send out surveys to a random sample of our patients on a regular basis, and since these changes have been made we have seen an improvement in the results of those surveys. While we hope that the member does not need emergency services again anytime soon, we do hope that if the need should arise he might consider giving us a second chance. - Christa Dean Hild, marketing and public relations manager for Bay Medical Center
