1st Class Moving and Storage

We contracted him, and he gave us an estimate. We gave him a deposit, and scheduled a time to move. We got everything ready, and we were scheduled to move on July 30. We noticed an voicemail that stated the truck had broke down, and they would be there shortly. After a little while we called in, and asked them when they would have the issue fixed. Tim told us they could not give us a time of when they would be there, and did not have a plan B. He left us stranded, and it was nightmare. It was hard to find another place to move in such a short time. We realized "Hassan", is the owner, but was going by "Tim" when he spoke with us. Tim is the one who had canceled us, and when we would call told us to "Not call anymore." In the process of trying to figure out what went wrong, one of the sales reps told us that "Tim" is actually the owner "Hassan". After a week, they finally gave us our deposit back.

It went well, though it took longer than I though. They were very polite and careful with the piano. It took them around 30 minutes to drive the 12 minute drive between locations which was annoying due to the fact we were moving. Otherwise the service was fine

They quoted for 4 hours but it took a bit longer so a little more money than first quoted. The movers were professional and did a great job. The only problem was my neighbor complained because when they left they drove over his lawn leaving a few ruts in his yard. I was very pleased with this company and would recommend them.

They arrived promptly and were very professional. They wrapped each piece of furniture, mirrors, pictures, tvs and computer as if they were their own. They stored furniture as they wrapped it. Because we moved from east coast to west coast we had different men unload the furniture. They were professional and caring just as the men who came the first time. I recommend them highly.

Four professionals arrived on time with all the supplies ordered and were efficient, caring, knowledgeable, and friendly. I was very happy with the everything they did. I would recommend this company for moving. They will keep my things in storage until I am ready to have them moved across the country. Their price is extremely competitive. The follow-up was great. Storage insurance is very reasonable.

I couldn't have asked for a better moving experience. I'm a single 71-year old woman and after almost 40 years in my home in Florida I was understandably worried and stressed about the move. My first thought was to use UHaul and hire helpers to load and unload at both ends, having my son drive the truck and then flying him home after the move. So Glad I decided to get estimates from commercial movers instead. First Class Movers sent a rep to my home to give me an estimate and I realized I could hire a mover for about the same price as using a rental truck and save myself a lot of work. I called two other movers who gave me estimates over the phone. Their estimates were double the price of the estimate from First Class. I guess I just got lucky because I was moving to Maryland where First Class has another location. Because of that they could give me a great price which didn't include the cost of the truck returning to Florida empty. I was apprehensive about going with the lowest bidder but I checked them out with Better Busines Bureau and DOT in addition to Angie's List. They had A ratings on all. The rep, Hassan, even had a huge stack of boxes delivered to my house for free. They were used moving boxes left over from someone else's move but were clean and perfectly fine, saving me a lot of money on moving boxes. I did all of the packing myself but I still wasn't quite ready when the movers arrived. But he guys were great. They pitched in helping me throw things in boxes and taping all the boxes I hadn't gotten sealed. There were 3 guys, all very helpful and upbeat. They padded all the furniture and protected everything. When I saw what a huge process it was I knew I had made the right decision not use UHaul. I left Florida on a Wednesdayevening right after the movers left and arrived in Maryland early Thursday morning. Later that day I got a call saying my furniture would be there the next day. Once again the guys were great unloading everything. I paid $250 when I signed the contract, half of the balance when the truck left Florida and the remainder after unloading. They take all credit cards. I hope I won't be moving again but if I ever do I would call First Class.

From start to finish this company has been nothing but professional! This was my first time using a moving company and I am so grateful that I chose to use them. They moved our home and my in-laws home from South Florida to North Florida and provided storage for us while our new home was being built. They showed up ready to work, wrapped everything beautifully, and successfully delivered everything in one piece! So grateful that we used this company!

Movers did a great job. We had problems with management. When they didn't show up on time (3PM) we were told they would be 2 hours late. When they weren't here then we called and were told they would arrive by 9PM. We were looking at 5 hours of packing and loading. We balked at this. We wasted a whole day on Labor Day Weekend. They finally showed up late Sunday morning. In FL they arrived on time and did a nice job. A ratings are for the crew. All other ratings are for management and schedulers.

We have moved a few times before and can honestly say that 1st Class Movers were the best we have ever had. The owner was professional and his men were terrific, on time, co-ordinated, mindful and respectful of our pieces...cannot praise them enough. Wi definitely will use them again!

They were on time and called the day before to confirm. The wrapped ALL the furniture in blankets before moving. They even moved small things you would not expect movers to take. They were courteous and polite. They also were careful in their handling of the furniture and items. I will use them again.

Carlos and Jose were on time and took care to pack each piece of furniture. Once they arrived in New York the furniture was unpacked and placed in the appropriate rooms. Not a scratch or any damage at all. We have family moving from New York to Florida and will recommend 1st class moving.

Very smooth. 3-4 man teams showed up at each house. I hadn't finished packing everything at the house I was moving out of and they were able to help me finish the packing while they were there. That was unplanned work for them, but none of their team complained. The whole house was packed and the truck was on the road in about 3.5 hours. The closing for my new house was delayed and 1st Class Moving and Storage was extremely accommodating. They took the truck back to their warehouse and stored it there for 4 days until I was able to close and move into the new house. Since they could keep it on the truck for that period of time there wasn't any need to unpack and repack the truck which saved time and money. The new house is in a hilly area and the house is approximately 10-11 feet higher than the road. Due to the elevation the truck couldn't make it up the driveway and the team had to bring everything up the driveway. It basically made the 1 story house feel like a 2 story house. Again, not a single person on the team complained. They had the truck completely unpacked about 3.5-4 hours. I would recommend 1st Class Moving and Storage to anyone that is looking for a crew for their move, especially if you need to store everything for a few days in between.

1st Clas definitely lived up to their name. Packing went smoothly. The workmen handled our furniture gently and and with respect. Each piece was wrapped securely and loaded onto the van in an organized manner. When we received our belongings back four months later, everything was intact and in good condition. Everyone connected with 1st Class was polite and professional. I would use this moving service again

Outstanding, really outstanding. I have moved many times but this one was by far the smoothest. They were on time for everything, efficient, exceptionally neat and organized. The guys were very polite and just got to work. The owner was also great and easy to work with and responsive to all my needs. Also got a great Angies list discount. My friend had recommended this company and I am so glad I used them.

All went well. However, the grandfather clock would not run for more than a half hour at a time. I had to get a clock repair company to correct the problem.

Pretty good, the men were hard workers, one inexpensive shoe rack was destroyed, but I wasn't too concerned. They forgot to hook up washer and dryer at new location as it was already getting late and it was pouring rain. I called and had them come back. Apparently they didn't hook it up because it was a 4 prong plug into a 3 prong outlet, but it would have been nice if they had told me that was the reason. They also broke the cement on my front porch, but they did send someone to repair it. Also boxes that were clearly labeled to be placed in one room or another started getting dumped in garage as the day wore on, rather than in the room for which they were labeled. I didn't discover this until i was unpacking over the next couple of weeks. When they were done, I tipped them, but because of the rain, I didn't inspect the truck to ensure all contents had been unloaded. They assured me that was everything. Well, a few weeks later, I'd finally finished unpacking, and discovered my electric drills were missing. One of the reasons I selected this company was because of the insurance coverage. So i contacted the boss, and he eventually got back to me to submit a claim. That was Oct. 2. It's now mid November and I haven't received the claim money. I suspect that these drills, and perhaps other items I can't recall were left on the truck. The owner is very nice, but he is slow to respond when you contact him. Main reason I wouldn't use again is because owner is slow to respond. I was delaying putting in this review, in hopes that my claim for the drills would have already been received. The boss said he would do the right thing, but should I still be waiting, 6 weeks later?

Overall the move with 1st class was good. However we did an over-the-phone estimation of objects and we clearly missed items on the list. The estimated 6.5 hours was off by....4 hours and we actually ran out of space on the truck. I only was able to get 70% of my items on the truck. If I was to do it over again, I would have been more firm that it was definitely closer to an 8-10 hour job and we probably would've had the right size truck (and probably would have needed 12-14 hours). I was clear that we had "a lot of stuff", but the estimator based on items (which i do agree missed things) put us at a lot less. If you have a 4-bedroom house that you're moving, push for the largest truck they can provide.

While no move goes without snags, our experience with 1st Class befitted it's name. We were downsizing, moving the contents of a 3,500 sq ft house into a town home 1/2 the size with two steep flights of stairs. Gustavo and his team arrived on time, worked consistently, were very careful of protecting our possessions and completed the job very close to the time projected. Whatever snags we ran into were handled in a conscientious and professional manner. The owner, Hassan, is genuinely concerned with his team's performance and satisfying the customer. Our experiences with movers in the past has been quite inconsistent. Most disputes revolved around prices that were not close to the "real" cost. 1st Class assured us our cost would not exceed the estimate by more than 10% and in fact was a good deal less. Would highly recommend 1st Class Moving!

From the initial telephone call to the last good-by, the movers were A one professionals. The movers arrived promptly. They knew exactly how to dismantle the bed and brought the correct tools with them. They protected each piece. They did not rush and were very thorough. They reviewed the paperwork with us, making sure we understood price and arrival dates. They cleaned up and picked up everything. They were perfect! The bed was shipped to our daughter who was totally pleased with everything. We were given a window of 30 days for the bed to be shipped. It was there within 2 weeks! We have made many moves and have moved many things both within and without the United states. We have never had a move like this. Nothing went wrong. We highly recommend this company.
