Description of Work: They vacuumed out my fireplace very well. they climbed up on the rook and inspected the chimney. They told me that there was not enough space for the air to pass out of the chimney and I should have my top replaced. but I wasn't sure what was really wrong. I wasn't sure that anything was wrong. They said they would replace the too for $500. I made an appointment, but later cancelled it because I wasn't sure what they were going to do. I think communication was the problem. So I do not know if they were good or not. Or if I got a good deal or not, of if my house is going to burn down. beats me!

 + -1 moreVery punctual. Both techs arrived and introduced themselves. An assessment was done on the condition of the fireplace and the tech was very honest and descriptive. We both agreed that the fireplace was in need of replacement due to it's deteriorated condition over the past 20 years of heavy use. One tech was on the roof at the chimney to start the sweep while the other tech carefully covered the fireplace opening to prevent any soot from getting in the room. When the sweep was complete he vacumned the fireplace as clean as possible. I also asked for an estimate on replacing this dangerous fireplace and will make sure not to use it until the entire unit is replaced. I will certainly use these people again as they were very efficient, polite, and answered any questions I had.
Description of Work: Performed a complete cleaning of the chimney and fireplace.

Discovered a small water leak on the cap and sealed it. Sealed system to prevent dust from coming into the house. Upon departure, the work area was as clean as when they arrived. Provided guidance on recommended future maintenance steps and schedule. Overall, extremely satisfied with the professionalism of the crew. We plan to have them come out again next year!

 + -1 moreAll of their services were explained to me in detail and I was given a price over the phone based on the facts I gave; i.e. two-story house, masonry fireplace etc. We set up a work day but rain was expected so I was told they would call to re-schedule if it did rain. The morning of my appt, as rain fell, I got a call and I was rescheduled for 2 days later. At the appointed time, I received a courtesy call letting me know they were on their way. A team of 2 arrived. One went up on the roof to inspect the chimney cap. Then both came inside and using a shop-vac-like machine and their special brushes, cleaned the inside of the fireplace and the chimney. My chimney was very dirty but did not need any repairs. Total job took about an hour and a half.
Description of Work: I called chimney keeper to have my fireplace and chimney cleaned. The chimney cap and fireplace were inspected for any damage, cracks etc and then the fireplace and chimney were thoroughly cleaned.
