On the day of the service, the technician, Fred, arrived before the scheduled appointment and completed the job before he was due to arrive. He was courteous and knowledgeable about his work. I will use them in the future should the need arise. I like this company!

Description of Work: Sunshine door specialist serviced my sliding glass doors both front and back and made them operate perfectly. They also measured and ordered custom-made screen doors to go on the sliding glass doors. They came back and installed the screens and they also are very nice and work perfectly.

 + -1 moreWhen I booked the job it seemed from the way the office manager spoke that "a crew" would do the installation. I booked for Thursday morning and the office said the work might run into Friday morning latest. Not so. They sent one technician only - who sauntered in at 1030am the first day which was Thursday, then left without informing us in the early afternoon. The old South Florida trick - work two jobs at the same time. Should have seen that one coming. On Friday, he strolled in again around 1000 am and said he must leave soon after lunch to work in Aventura. (I am in Kendall) . When I protested, the technician called his office and bitterly complained. I managed to persuade him to stay and work the whole day. Saturday, still working. Sunday - job finally completed late afternoon. So a "one day job" lasted from Thursday to Sunday. The quality of the work is good.

 + 0 moreVery good experience. The company answered the phone in a friendly manner and scheduled the work for later in the week. They offered to send me a foto of the tech via email and called the prior afternoon with a friendly reminder. The tech actually showed up a bit early!!! He diagnosed the problems and provided several alternative solutions. He then got quickly to work and within an hour a door which had been annoying me for months was better than new. The tech was professional, friendly, fast and neat. The company called after the tech departed to see if all had gone well. I would certainly recommend these folks to friends.
Description of Work: The provider installed a new stainless steel track and rollers on a glass patio door. The tech also re-screened a sliding screen door, repaired the rollers, and properly re-installed it.

 + 0 moreVery personable phone contact and ease at making the appointment. The technician was friendly and on time and honest. He analyzed the problem and resolved it in the most economical way. I thought I needed an entire new door however his suggestion of repairing the door with an alternate handle while retaining my locking mechanism was ideal. My existing handle with locking mechanism had to stay in it's fixed position but he added an entirely new pull mechanism. Simple,but I wouldn't have known it could be done without his suggestion.

They came over gave me an estimate and made the repairs that very day. The rep was a great guy, and did a good job. I would not hesitate to use Sunshine again. .

 + 0 moreThe tech called to ask if he could come earlier than the originally scheduled time since he had completed his previous job early and was already in the neighborhood. Wow, a novel idea that anyone would arrive EARLY to a scheduled appointment! That was Gold star number 1. The tech was very polite and explained everything before he began his work and took the time to explain what he found as his work progressed. I enjoyed working with this company and would highly recommend them to any of my neighbors.
Description of Work: Checked track and replaced wheels on the sliding door. Replaced the lock mechanism on the slider and 2 windows.

 + -1 moreFrom the date I first made contact with them by phone, their professionalism showed through starting with a very courteous receptionist. The person who showed up was very professional. When I explained that my problem was a leakage that I suspected under the door, he explained to me that this kind of problem is not within the scope of his work; that he deals specifically with the mechanical aspect of sliding doors. He explained that he wouldn't feel right taking my money for a job that is not necessary in my case. I expressed to him how sorry I was that he had to come all the way from SW Miami to City of Hollywood, he put me at ease by telling me that it comes with the territory. I also had a window to be replaced, he told me he would get back to me for the estimate. I have not yet heard from him regarding the window. Hopefully someone will get back to me as promptly as they came for the sliding door.

He reviewed what had to be done, gave me the estimate, and with my agreement, performed the job. He showed me the best way to keep the tracks clean, and replaced rollers on a very old, heavy sliding glass door in my family room that gets a lot of use. Sunshine doors, the day before, e-mailed me a photo of the technician (Fred) who would be coming to my house as an introduction. I thought that was a very nice touch. My door slides effortlessly now and I am very pleased with Fred and Sunshine Doors. I highly recommend them.

 + -1 moreBased on reviews in Angie's List and a neighbor I contacted the vendor and scheduled an appointment for an estimate for two separate matters - repair to a sliding glass door and to replace screens on a screened patio. The office staff couldn't be nicer to deal with and on the day of the appointment I was given two estimates; the glides to a very hard to open/close glass door were repaired that day; quite satisfactorily - the vendor had all necessary replacement parts with him and the door now glides with a push of the finger, no effort at all. The vendor was paid for that repair that day which I considered a fair price and was about the same price my neighbor paid who agreed that the price was fair. We discussed replacement of screens and many panels were pointed out by the vendor as not needing repair and I shouldn't have the extra expense when it wasn't necessary. We also discussed changing the swing on two patio doors and raising the door handles to be in compliance with the county codes for a screened patio as a swimming pool barrier. We scheduled an appointment for the work and that day the vendor arrived on time and did a very good job (especially considering family members had come to use the pool.) There have been no issues with the screen work and the patio doors look like new and are to code. The vendor was professional and a pleasure to work with and I would certainly recommend the company.

When I said the door did not operate as smoothly as I expected after their repair, they immediately redid all the work and the result was great. They even helped me fix a minor problem. Sure it only took a couple of minutes but to do it during an estimate is really positive reflection on the company. I was impressed.

He was very professional, cleaned up after he completed the installation and was very polite. The price for this job was very reasonable and about $40. less than other companies that I contacted.

They cleaned all the broken glass still attached to the panel, the small pieces outside and in the door?s rails. The new glass installation was made in the premises without a problem.  + -1 moreWe requested to review the issue with the company owner and gave him our email address beside our phone number to give us a response because we do not understand how a person that is suppose to give an estimate can make a mistake and change the price in less than 5 minutes after we accepted the first price he gave us. As of today no one has called us or sent us an email. Update 03/31/13:LOUSY!!!
Description of Work: I requested an estimate for new window's screens, the person gave me a price and my husband and I accepted the price. Then the estimator came back and said that he made a mistake and the price was $200.00 higher than the previous amount. He claimed that 1st he counted the windows, but to issue the contract he has to count by screens and he realized he made a mistake. Update 03/31/13:I waited for the this appointment for more than 3 weeks because I wanted to be home to receive the estimate. The person show to my house 1/2 hour late which is not that bad due to traffic here in Miami. He went out and check all my windows and came with an estimate around $780.00 which my husband and I accepted, then he said if you are going to do the work I have to go out again and measure all windows one by one, which is understood, when he came back he said that he made a mistake and the previous estimate was incorrect and now the price was $998.00. I got very upset because he gave me an estimate that we accept and 10 minutes later he said that it was more than $200.00 higher because he didn't count the screens correct. THAT IS NOT PROFESIONAL, We requested he talk to the owner of the company and explained the situation, and he left with the promise to respond within the next 2 days. One month later and no one has called us anymore, even to say that the price was $998.00 and if I want to do the job is my decision to accept it or not. I'm very disappointed because I thought it was a good company because the comments I found on Angie's List but my experience is that this company is not serious and do not respect the clients.

 + -1 moreI was very happy with the work done and the service I received. The servicemen were not only on time, but actually early, which is very rare. I hope I never need their services anytime soon, but if I do, I will not hesitate to call them.
Description of Work: When I called to schedule my appointment the company was closed for vacation, but the owner was there and took my call. We scheduled it for the first available after they were back from vacation. I have a very heavy impact resistant sliding glass door. It is a two man job to lift it off the track. They were able to replace the rollers and the door is working great now. I was also able to use the coupon for $15.00 off for Angie's list members. They also give a 1 year warranty on the work they do.

Professional, courteous and personable treatment by entire staff, from office personnel to technician who did the work. Very unusual contractor consistency, particularly for the Miami area. Came when they were expected and work completed as promised, with very smooth sliding doors upon completion. We highly recommend them. As an aside, this is also a recommendation for Angie's List. This is only the second contractor we have used from Angies' List, in the very short time we have subscribed, but both have been really good and have exceeded our expectations in every respect.
