I am a residential customer of Vector Security for 11 years. My sensor on my porch needed to be disconnected and replaced by another sensor. The repair technician was unable to finish after working for four hours because it was 5 p.m. and he quit at 5. He was not informed about my system so had no idea of the passcodes to change the information in the panal; had no idea that there was two panels and alarms to my system; and had to get instructions over the phone for the majority of the time he was there to try to work on the system. He twisted the wires of the sensor together and said that it would be ok to stay that way until he was able to come back with parts in a week or so. Every 6 hours my system requires me to hit a button on the panel to stop a loud beeping including at 3 a.m. and I'm expected to put up with this for a week. So today at 1:11, I called the Vector security call center to ask that they bypass this sensor so I can get some sleep at night since I don't fall back to sleep after being woken up. I was transferred and put on hold in a que six times! At 2 p.m. I reached a supervisor at the call center after the last transfer and explained to them how, since I'm in Florida, the Maryland call center doesn't want to assist me and the Florida call center is closed after 11 on a weekend. She said a call center emergency on call technician would call and she would call back in 20 minutes to be sure I got the call. I received a call from the technician at 3:50 p.m. and have yet to here back from the supervisor and its after 4. The technician said they can't do anything about the major failure in the system without a technician coming out. This means I'll have to put up with being awake at 3 a.m. for a week and I'll have to miss another day of work to meet with a technician at my home. I'm currently looking at ADT or another security monitoring company with more responsive and knowledgeable technicians who actually have customer service on the weekends. I would not recommend this company at this time until they provide better customer service and train their technicians.
