Radio Alarms

A+++ Alarm Company. After shopping around for alarm companies in the Broward area, I was surprised that all of them wanted contracts. Also a lot of shady people I got quotes from. I ended up going with Radio Alarms, even though they were up in Jupiter because I wanted someone really knowledgeable that could build the exact alarm system I wanted. They also had good reviews and were on Better Business Bureau. In the end, David (the owner) built me an awesome and very custom alarm system. I wanted a lot of things that average people didn't want like flood sensors, outside gate sensors, motion sensors in all the bedrooms, garage, etc. Believe me if you're building that type of an alarm system, you really want someone knowledgeable. There was a good amount of follow-up and tech issues that came up, and David always got them resolved for me. I was very impressed with the 2 Gig system as it allowed me flexibility to add every component I wanted.

The technician, David Pearson, started out being a very friendly person who I though knew what he was doing. He installed the Radio Alarm System and we had problems from the start. I was surprised that the key to the back digital lock was not the same key as was keyed to all the other doors in the house. He tried to fix that and was not able to fix it. After he complained about the time he spent, I told him to forget it. Than we had constant problems with the remote thermostats . After several attempts, he was not able to repair the remote connection to the upstairs thermostat. He said he could not fix it. I told him to refund my money for the upstairs thermostat and I would get someone else to replace that one. He refunded me $300 and wanted me to return the upstairs thermostat when I had it replaced with a new one. I received a quote for the upstairs remote thermostat of $735 from Gulfstream cooling. I didn't replace it because of the cost. Now he wants his money back because he said I did not return both of the thermostats (upstairs and downstairs). The deal was to return only the one that didn't work but he said I agreed to return both. It has been a terrible experience for me. I had technician from gulfstream come out to verify that the upstairs remote thermostat was not working and I paid for the that service visit. Now he wants me to get a service tech to take the upstairs remote Radio Alarm thermostat out and replace it with a regular thermostat and send his back. That will cost me more money. I agreed to send him half of his $300 back along with one thermostat. Z John Kossak

Excellent service, pricing and communication. Complete home alarm system installed efficiently and without issue. The owner cares about his customers and makes himself available at all times. Quality equipment with the latest technology. Highly recommend!

The service went really well. My favorite thing about it is that when I come home and hear the beeping, I know I'm safe in my home.

Installers (Daniel and assistant) arrived promptly, assessed existing system and made recommendations to close existing gaps. Daniel spent several hours verifying and testing all the sensors to ensure reliable function. I'm really pleased with the service and with the professionalism of the Owner David and his crew. I also prefer supporting a local business instead of a huge corporate entity when possible. Highly recommend.

I was incredibly impressed with the alarm system/DVR camera monitoring system installed by Dave (owner) and Dan at my home. They were both exceptionally knowledgeable, reliable, and professional while doing a phenomenal job with a somewhat tricky installation. They completely cleaned up after the job while also ensuring that we were totally satisfied with the work before departing. Dave's incredible followup and after job support has been exemplary. It is very rare to find a company like this these days. I could not be any happier with the entire job from start to finish!

Great experience with Radio Alarms. I have been struggling with finding a provider that would customize something for my needs - most companies I had dealt with would basically send me a self installation package and start billing once the equipment was in place. David came out to my house on a Saturday and really took his time evaluating all entry points as well as checking all existing sensors I had in place (I had an old system which got replaced by a new one from Radio Alarms). Additionally, he checked all of the existing wiring to make sure all sensors were properly connected to the main unit. He spent nearly six hours at my property making sure the new system was properly installed and functioning, and he also replaced all bad sensors. Finally, he spent time walking me through the system features, including virtual activation through an website/app. Great experience with very competitive pricing! The other thing I liked about Radio Alarms is the fact I actually spoke to David (owner) when I first called to get information about the deal and services offered. He was extremely patient, spend a great deal of time with me on the phone giving me an overview of their product and was very punctual meeting the agreed time for installation. I highly recommend Radio Alarms if you are looking for great service and an experienced professional for your security needs.

Called explained problem.dave was pretty certain he knew problem and could resolve painlessly ! Made appt he met me at location at agreed time..phone diagnosis was correct and he repaired it perfectly! Recommended replacing a battery that most certainly was on its last legs and did so on the spot! ! Although my appointment was a minimum charge service call you'd have thought I was spending thousands !! Pretty sure if you need any alarm services you need but make one call !!

David provided excellent service. His pricing was competitive, and unlike other companies that I got estimates from, he came out to my home so that he could recommend the best system for my home's layout. Am very satisfied.

Radio Alarms and David Pearson came highliy recommended on Angieslist and they did not disappoint. David came out to the house and reviewed our current "wired" security alarm. After that he provided options on hooking up the exisitng system or putting a complete wireless system in. He was not pushy and did not try to sell us anything we didn't need. He laid out all options explained the pros and cons and left it to us to make a decision that worked best for us. He worked with us every step of the way even adding more sensors at the last minute. We are extremely happy we went with the 2gig system and the wireless set-up. The installation was quick and easy as the installer was great. When complete David gave us a walk-through of the system and a tutorial on use. He even got a custom screen made for one of our windows. We have had a lot of work done on our house but I must say this was one of the best experiences we have had with a contractor. You should go with David as he and his team are outstanding, not only that the system is so intuitive and easy to use. I highly recommend Radio Alarms.

He was fantastic! He came right on time. He sat down with me and was very honest with me. Told me what I needed and didnt need. Didnt try to upsell me. Took them about a half a day to get the system installed. He told me I can call him on his cell phone any time at all. I called him on a Sunday, and he straightened out the issue right away.

The original deal specified two door alarms and up to 6 window alarms. However, due to the fact that I had old crank-style windows, the window alarms wouldn't work for me. They were flexible and offered to swap out motion sensor alarms that were comparable in price. The installation was well done and he made sure the entire system was working well before he left. He also made sure that I was very comfortable using the system.

First time user of Angies List and the experience was outstanding with Radio Alarms from my initial inquiry through to the installation. Installation was very quick and very professional with no fuss or mess. System is very slick with online access, and email and text notifications. User can get as much or as little information as they want/need to manage the security of the house with varying levels of detail. Panel interface is simple to follow. Would highly recommend David and his company, as he is very responsive, professional, helpful and pleasant.

Dave responded to my initial call quickly and walked me thru the various options for a home security system. We agreed on what would best suit my needs and he scheduled the appt. that week. The installation went smoothly and quickly. He took the time to review the features and various settings of the alarm monitor box. The system is very simple to use and everything seems to be working great. I would definitely recommend him to others.

He was able to make the repairs and we upgraded at his suggestion to hi-capacity batteries and have been very happy with the results. He always follows up very well and is thorough. We will continue using him as well.

The work was fantastic and completed professionally. He installed the system quickly yet taking time to ensure all was done properly and precisely. The system was tested and he was very patience explaining how everything worked. I felt the comfortable that he knew exactly what he was doing during the installation and was very, very, happy with the outcome. I have had no problems since installation. I selected Radio Alarms using Angie's List as the start point in the selection process. My main criterion was that I wanted to have a wireless system, rather than the land line system that I already had. David Pearson was very responsive and arrived within a couple of days of my initial phone inquiry, reviewed what we had and made recommendations. He emailed me the full quotation the next day. Critical to me was not throwing out all the window alarms already installed, as the house is 5,000 sqft with lots of windows. I compared his quote with three other quotes that I had (all from Angie's List A rated suppliers) and awarded the job to Radio Alarms for the following important reasons: - David is very good with customers. He listens, doesn't over-recommend or over-sell and is efficient - He first recommended an audit of what worked at the time, so that faulty connections could be replaced by wireless ones where necessary and that we could be fully satisfied that the whole new setup was ideal for us. - He and his assistant personally installed the system from A to Z. Two of the other three potential suppliers simply would have sent the parts to me and I would have had to do the installation myself - nothing like as good from my perspective. - They came on time and finished in a few hours (same day). - The system works very well and I am very satisfied thus far

It went very smooth, they were on time, professional and very efficient. The customer service was so good that the owner actually gave me his personal cell phone number to call if I ever have any questions. I would refer Radio Alarms to anyone and everyone who is looking for a home security system. Fantastic company!

The installer took his time and was very careful. He got everything installed well and explained how the entire system worked. I was very pleased with how thorough he was on the install. Would highly recommend this company for your alarm installation.

First of all, everything the other reviewers said about David Pearson is absolutely true. He called me promptly, explained my costs, and was on-time for the appointment. He didn't try to sell me upgrades or anything else beyond what we discussed. I cannot add too much more about David so I will instead review the system itself. After three years of multiple service calls--that never fixed the problem--and a three-year contract with ADT, I was finally free to go elsewhere! To demonstrate the class-act that is David, except for a slight grimace, he never said anything anything negative about ADT. He used the existing hardware to set-up the new alarm system and demonstrated how to use the new panel. I am a baby-boomer and the ease of using this system is absolutely, well, easy. The numbers are big and I didn't need my reading glasses. You can have a different sound for each door or window that has a sensor. I set all of my doors and windows with a different tone and added voice. So, when my front door is open the system chimes and also tells me the front door is open. Also, as a baby-boomer being able to change the brightness of the screen and being able to increase the sound level, is a big, big plus as well. Finally, you can also turn-off a sound for a specific door or window! So when I am outside gardening or grilling, I can turn off the back door sound and open and close the door without the chime and door open notification. This system also allows me to use a website to make the same changes that I can make from the control panel. I used the website to assign a different arming code to my neighbor who watches my house when I am on vacation. I assigned another code to my son so that, if necessary, he can set my alarm from Michigan! I set-up my account to send me text messages whenever there is an alarm event. I also set the system to text me if I forget to turn on the alarm by 5:30 a.m, M-F, since this is the normal time that I would set the alarm. I paid absolutely nothing, no installation fee, up-front fee, or any other money out of my pocket. Wonderful! I had to commit to a 3-year contract but at least it is not 3 years with ADT! However, the monthly monitoring fee is affordable, so hopefully it will be 3 painless years. Unfortunately, rating the service itself is not possible until an event occurs. If that happens I will be sure to update this review.

Went very well with Radio Alarms, David is a class act! My only negative comment is regarding the company that does the monitoring (Security Networks). Not the most customer friendly people, and questionable techs.
