We purchased living room and dining room furniture, as well as a piece for the foyer. Our sales assocaite spent lots of time with us on multiple visits to the store and she came to our home - once to see the room as we were maing decisions and twice when the furniture was delivered. She also gave us suggestions regarding accessories. She responded to e-mail inquiries promptly, even on her day off. The furniture is expensive, but the qualify is outstanding. We have a few pieces purchased 35 years ago which have been passed on to our children. Furniture was delivered on or before anticipated delivery dates. The sales associate with whom we worked has now been promoted to store manager, which will surely be an asset to the store.

It is March and I am still awaiting delivery for a simple order placed on November 1, 2012. I was called in December that the chairs were in! Great news! Except it was only the upholstered seats, not the chairs themselves. I was promised the order would be expedited for completion quickly. That was the last I heard from Ethan Allen without prompting from me. By the way, the bill is paid in full. In mid-February I called and left a message. Where are my chairs? I was told the good news was that ONE chair was in but the other and quot;got lostand quot; or something and that the second chair would be expedited. On February 27 I called again. Again I had to leave a message. The call was returned and I was told that just this moment the second chair had come in and that the delivery people would call to schedule delivery right away. On March 1 in the late afternoon I called and - oh guess?!? - left a message that no one had scheduled a delivery of my chairs. Just around 5 I was contacted to schedule delivery. What day of the week next week could I be home ALL DAY for delivery? They would call the day before and give me a two hour window. I have appointments every day next week. Who doesn't? They are going to and quot;tryand quot; to schedule delivery for Tuesday, March 5 in the afternoon. I am not optimistic.

On 4-26-12 I was searching for new formal living room furniture. I loved the entire display, including custom rug, sofa (and 5 custom pillows), 2 chairs,, coffee table and the accessories on the table (alabaster platter, flower arrangement and 2 candle sticks). I placed 1/2 down and the remainder of the fee was due upon delivery. The delivery was delayed. The furniture is gorgeous. It was just the terrible communication process with this particular decorator at this particular Ethan Allen store, and the fact that I had to keep calling them to inquire as to the status of the furniture and accessories that was so frustrating. The final two pillows were promised by 8-3-12 and once again had to call them to inquire. (According to the dates listed on the delivery slip, the pillows had been in the warehouse since 7-18 and 7-24-12). When I made the last call, the decorator who had been helping us said that she would have them sent via fed-ex within a few days. I communicated back via email, and the supervisor did call as back immediately that eveing, and she ensured the pillows went out the next day. They did. They arrived in a partially opened shipping wrap....not a box; thankfully, the pillows were not damaged. It was just the communication process that left a bad feeling for us. The quality is exceptional, but I would rather not have to do business with a company that does not follow up, and cannot provide the product in a more tiemly manner.

When I moved from a house to a condo I replaced most of my living room furniture. I also added window treatments in four rooms and supplemental furnishings in 2 bedrooms. Don Workman provided excellent design and decorating services, stored the furniture and soft goods when my renovation project ran many months over estimate and personally supervised the delivery and placement of each item I had ordered when I could finally take delivery. The design service at Ethan Allen is free. I am extremely pleased with the results and have enjoyed working with Don and the design team. I will definitely return to Ethan Allen in Jacksonville - and Don - if I need additional decorating assistance.
