If you have any alternative.....use it. These people lie like a rug, misrepresent, jack prices, fail to honor commitments, etc. Save yourself a BAD experience. These people demonstrate everything that is wrong with American corporate culture.

They are literally the WORST. We have had nothing but horrible experiences with them. The propane tank was leaking- they came out to "fix" it but then charged us for the gas that was going back in it. Well, fast forward a year and weve only used the tank once since last refill and it's almost empty again. THEY NEVER ACTUALLY FIXED IT. We have had so many other issues- so much to the point that we are paying to have their tank removed and going with another propane company. DO NOT USE SAWYER.

Horrible, I has a new water line being installed, and needed to track Sawyer gas line. - Promises to come out, and had to call many times to get them to do it. - No tracer lines, as holes dug up in many places in my yards. - Could not find lines. - Water Services company finally was able to work. - Sawyer was supposed to come out today and fill holes around yard. - I called to find out, and spent 1 1/2 hours waiting and getting cut off call. - Larry, the service manager, was supposed to call, and he was previous days, should have term 'service' removed from his title. I have yard full of big 'dig-out' holes and no resolutions. This is the worst service that I have ever experienced.
Description of Work: Trace gas line, as they installed unit and connections.

NIGHTMARE is the only way I can explain what we had to go through with this company! I am seriously considering having the tank removed from the ground just to not have to deal with this company. We bought the house in March and didn't need the tank filled till several months later in July. We were informed that we should have called right away when we bought the house that a service tech needs to come out and check for leaks and check pilot lights and show us how things work because “we are dealing with a very dangerous substance” and that cost us $59.99 and needs to be paid before they will even schedule the tech to come out and the tech is several weeks behind. I paid, they scheduled. I asked if we could have the gas scheduled to be delivered so that when he does his inspection it will be delivered right away. They said no would have to wait till he is done and then schedule and they are several weeks behind on deliveries. I had to go through a long Q&A on the phone and then she emailed forms for me to fill out, now remember we are dealing with a very dangerous substance so you would think they would have their act together yet I receive the forms by email and they have our name wrong and our address wrong. During the Q&A I kept asking what it was going to cost for the fill and the size of our tank and for some reason she just kept dodging the questions. She wasn’t even sure how big our tank was and kept saying that we had two tanks then said no maybe we have one and was all over the place in her answers. The cost was also all over the place and how much it was going to cost. I couldn’t nail her down to anything. We were down to 10% so I had to have gas and figured I would get an answer when I actually called to have the tank fill scheduled. When the tech came out he was very professional did his job competently. He told us we had one tank but was still uncertain about how much the tank held. I then called for a delivery. They finally came up with how much our tank held and how much per gallon it would be. I did my math and came up with a totally different figure. The lady had a really strange way of doing the calculations. I was in the accounting field for 16 years but it was all backwards what she was doing. I finally agreed to pay her amount just to get gas. Well, low and behold I over paid like I told her I would be and I got a statement saying I had a credit. They told me I could leave it on the account or receive a check back. I decided to leave it there. The next statement I get says that I now owe them because they failed to credit me with my $59.99 fee I paid just to have the guy come out. I called them and said I had changed my mind to straighten out my credit and mail me the check. I figured that at the rate this company is run if I didn’t take my credit I would never see it. Now remember we are dealing with a very dangerous substance. She said that would take 2 to 3 weeks. I waited for 3 weeks and 3 days and called still in processing may take 3-4 more weeks the hurricane set them back on their deliveries. I told them I’m not looking for a delivery I’m looking for my check. Really you had 2 weeks before the hurricane hit and now you are another month behind???? On top of all of this I pay $6.99 extra as a will call client. You don’t have to keep me on your books or keep track of anything for me so in doing so you are going to penalize me because I pick up the phone and call you when I need it and pay up front. Beware of the stress involved if you want to do business with this company. Oh yes and I was also informed that the prior owners paid it so I don’t have to pay this year but next year I will have to pay a rental fee for their tank that is in the ground that I use, on top of all the other fees I’m charged. You better believe I will be searching for another company before my tank needs to be filled again. I would rather deal with a hole in my yard than this company again. I will be looking at Angie's List for a good company because as you can see here this company has horrible ratings.

Sawyer did what they said they would do. We bid on a home and needed to have propane tanks inspected. The current homeowners never established an account so the only way to inspect was to pay $60 to turn unlock the system and test the system. We chose not to buy the house and later learned they started an account for us at that address and made us pay another $60 to lock the system again.

Keep in touch with us to see if we are running out of gas. Like in the Summer, we don't need that as frequently. In the wintertime, you need it more frequently. More responsiveness. I have a really good connection with Michelle, and other people. They are responsive. I can't blame them. Its a service business. I don't know what they can do to make it better. They can call us a couple days in advance before they come. They can call us in a month, to ask if we are ok with gas. I had some family here, and I had to keep calling them. To see if they could deliver earlier. Those kind of things. I have had the for twenty five years.

After finally getting our propane delivery we ended up being double billed. At least that is all anyone can figure out from the erratic billing showing service on consecutive days when they were not at our home. The main office is not in contact with the local branch and I kept getting calls about an outstanding bill. Obviously there was no outstanding bill as they had continued to bill me for the same thing or services that were not performed.
Description of Work: Provider failed to arrive on day scheduled. When rescheduled they tried to cancel once again.

My gripe with this company is that it cost me $370.06 to get my fireplace in order (and that does not include any chimney sweep preparations that may or may not be necessary with a gas fireplace). The breakdown is as follows: $71.40 parts; $90 labor; $24 tank rental; $4.98 commission; $130 gas; $1.68 tax. Now, given that I will use my fireplace only a handful of times this winter, this is quite expensive!Another bothersome aspect was that they required my Social Security # even though I will pay C.O.D. They also wanted my driver's license # and will run a credit check (which is really not necessary since I've forked all of this money out in the first place.) The paperwork was extensive - I felt like I was purchasing a car! Sure, they need to cover their liabilities when dealing with a potentially dangerous product but what I had to sign, initial and date was a bit of overkill. They will eventually merge or be purchased by Amerigas. I am not a big fan of regulation but maybe this is an industry that needs it!
Description of Work: I recently purchased a home. I lived out of state and am used to using gas appliances. The only appliance in my new home here in Florida that uses gas is my fireplace. The fireplace actually uses LP gas (not natural) which requires a tank which is located on the exterior of my house. Sawyer Gas is a well-known local gas provider so I called them. Nick showed up promptly. He swapped out the tanks, changed regulators, did a safety inspection, purged the line, inspected and adjusted the fireplace burner, did a leak test and made notes of manufacturer, model & serial #'s. In short, Nick was friendly, professional and did the job he was asked to perform. No complaints with him at all...
