+ -1 moreThis was a professional job from start to finish. We used the Angie's coupon for the upgrade for $1999. The extra costs were for 13 extra breakers (over the six breakers covered by the coupon), an extra 75 feet for the ground line, and a charge for getting the permit. We did not choose to go to City hall and wait around for three or four hours to get the permit....so we were happy to pay Quick Electric to do that for us. Everything was explained and spelled out in the contract before we signed. Work began Thursday morning (power was off from about 9 am to 3 pm) and completed by Friday about 10:30 am. They ran into some problems caused by previous installers of a hot tub and a walk-in Jacuzzi bathtub and knew the work would not pass the current inspection criteria. We chose to leave the hot tub unconnected and the bathtub wiring problem was corrected....even though that was not part of the coupon deal. Everything was cleaned up Thursday before they left for the day and again Friday morning everything was back in its place and not a bit of mess to be seen. Before they left, every plug, every light, every appliance was checked to be sure power was on. Highly recommend this company for any electrical work.
Description of Work: Upgrade main electrical panel to 200 amp, installing ground rod and bonding to water heater; installing 19 breakers; installing ground line to water intake line; securing the necessary permit from San Jose City Hall.

+ -1 moreI used an Angie's List electrical big deal on an electrical company and I am really unhappy. I felt like it was not a good deal and all and I am disappointed. I am disappointed because the assessment was not thorough and the assessment was enough of an investigation to just barely hit the surface. Even a lay person like me could talk about what they were talking about and I needed more information from a qualified electrician who knows about residential electrical systems. They did not want to go there in the conversation. They were reluctant to go look at other parts of the home where I had actual concerns. They had a list of things that they were going to look at and, as I said, it was a very cursory list and not detailed at all. The only equipment that the technician brought with them was a test probe to plug into the outlet to establish whether the outlet was grounded. I had more complex issues going on in my home that was built in in 1968 than grounding. They told me they were going to send me an email the next day and I have received nothing from them. They are not professional. I will not use them again. Final Update: Some issues were addressed to my satisfaction. My advice is to inquire about the details of service provided prior to purchase.

+ 1 moreExcellent service! Friendly and professional. They showed up early (who does that anymore??) but I wasn't ready for them so they patiently had more coffee and waited. Then when they arrived they introduced themselves and checked in about the job. I asked if they could do something extra which they did with no trouble. The team discussed everything with me step by step so I felt like I was included in everything. This wasn't some "hit and run" group! One of team even played a bit with my cranky cat while trying to get him to move off the bed to install the other fan! I'd definitely use them again! It's expensive but I suspect no more than any electrician....and at least I feel secure in that I could call them and they would help if something did go wrong.
Description of Work: Put together and installed 2 ceiling fans (had boxes already) and 1 track light (again with box); installed 2 switches for each.

+ 0 moreGreat experience. On time, professional. Arrived at 8AM as promised, out the door and complete by 11:45AM with only 15 minutes with the power down to finish wiring. The cans look great and work beautifully. Team was courteous, careful with our stuff, left a bare minimum of dust behind given all the cutting that needed to be done, and was even nice to the dog. They do not do ceiling patches on the holes that remain but they provide good advice on how to do so. Also got some free advice on overall electrical wiring for the condo while there. Definitely would work with them again in the future if we need lighting or electric work done.

+ -1 moreAfter describing the ceiling fan work for the coupon deal, I asked it they could also replace 2 other light fixtures and they said yes. They found the box needed to be replaced in the ceiling because it was too small for the fan. They covered & moved furniture and left area clean. They also hung a chandelier in the dining room. However, the ceiling in the entry was too high and they needed a special ladder so we rescheduled that work.
Description of Work: They replaced ceiling fan & dining room chandelier as well as installed a new dimmer switch.

+ 1 moreIt went great. I have a great plumber, Caccia Plumbing, a great Painter, Tomato Frog, a great hauler, Alladin and now a great electrician, Quick Electric.
Description of Work: We took advantage of Anglie's List's Big Deal and purchased two cieling fan installations. Quick Electric came out the next week and installed our ceiling fans. There was some modifictions that had to be made in the cieling electrical connections and Razvan and his crew took care of it without a hitch. Two years ago we hired a neighbor who had just become a journeyman electician to replace and relocate our main electrical panel and rewire two dedicated lines seving our hot tub and dryer. I had reservations about the work he performed and asked Razvan to take a look. Razvan opened the panel and immediately spotted huge issues with the work the previous electrician had done. Rasvan showed me everything that had been done incorrectly and did so in a way that I could understand. He explained what needed to be done in order to bring our panel up to code and more importantly to make it totally safe. He was able to reschedule an appointment and he and his crew spent the rest of day at our house pretty much rewiring the panel and several key outlets and lights. He then came back the following Monday and tore out the hot tub wiring and properly installed a dedicated hot tub wire. We also had him install a motion sensor security light above our garage door. We are looking at purchasing several new light fixtures for our home and will be calling Quick to install those.

+ -1 moreI purchased a BigDeal coupon, and they come out for a home electrical inspection. They came out early for their appointment, a half an hour early to be precise. I am not sure what value I got out of his home inspection. In the inspection, there is a list of what everything entails. He did not do an electrical panel tune up. That was specified in the BigDeal. There was no attic inspection. He gave me no written report on system integrity. He did not actually inspect the smoke detectors to see how well they were working, he just looked to see if they were there. The guy seemed knowledgeable, but I am not sure what value I got from this.

+ -1 moreNick, the owner came out and did an inspection. He determined problems. They rewired the entire house. They did a fantastic job. We had miserable weather, it was one hundred degrees. They cleaned up after themselves. They worked very hard. They were the most pleasant group I had dealt with. We had a recent inspection by the city, and everything turned out perfect. They were just amazing, hardworking guys. Every obstacle they came against, they solved.

+ -1 moreWe called Quick Electric after checking the reports on the list...the electrician, Nick, called back about an hour later and said he could come out right away...he was very prompt. Nick diagnosed the problem quickly. It turned out that we needed a breaker replaced, and he had it fixed in about 15 minutes! He has forty yrs. experience as an electrician, and is very accomplished. We will be using this company again.
Description of Work: A great overall experience.....very prompt response...diagnosed the problem immediately....needed a new breaker...repaired quickly, was very friendly...would definitely call again!

+ 0 moreSee above and I was very happy with Quick Electric. With the price I listed above, that included the payment I made to Angie's List as well as the inspection and all material. The work took two men two hours each for a total of 4 hours. Also Mr. Panescu made a special trip to my house and spent about an hour doing the initial inspection. He also made several suggestions as to how I could improve some of my fixtures to reduce my electrical bill. I gave the Price a C for fair because I haven't had any electrical work done in my house by a licenced electrician in a long time and I'm not familiar with their costs. I assume it's fair. Mr. Panescu and his son were a pleasure to work with
Description of Work: Mr. Panesou came to my house and checked electricity coming to my house and the panel for code and safety. He then checked the kitchen and bathrooms and discovered we needed 6 GFI outlets. Outside we needed to replace out of date covers for 2 outlets. Inside we had a 3way switch that wasn't working, and I requested a dimmer switch for the kitchen. Mr. Panesou and his son arrived the next morning and am happy to say my house is now electrically safe and up to code - that's good news for an almost 40 year old house. The three way switch was fixed and they installed a new dimmer.

Description of Work: Used Quick electric to upgrade my panel to 200 amps. Very responsive, gave me a quick quote, and once we signed the contract the work was finished with a couple of days along with coordinating with the city inspector. The only thing is that the upgraded wire was not enclosed in the metal casing, although the wire they used is up to code. So I have 200 amp wire coming into the garage that is not in a metal casing.

+ 1 moreMy interaction so far has been fine, though it did make me have a few doubts, that I'd need to be more comfortable with before actually having them do the work.
Description of Work: I requested an estimate for a whole house rewiring and upgrade to current codes as applicable for bathroom and kitchen renovations. I got a very rapid response, quick was able to come by and provide an verbal on-site estimate within a couple of days, including verbally describing all works to be included. I state verbally since they would not put their estimate into an e-mail or on paper until I confirmed that I was going with them as contractors..., I sort of understand their reasons behind this (they state they don't want to provide an itemised list of work to be done that could be provided to another contractor to have them underbid the same exact work by a few hundred dollars to win the job). I was pleased with the level on knowledge and understanding of the person providing the estimate (his english language was not great), some things where a little hard to understand. The verbal estimate was on the higher side of my expected range and was a 'final' price, negotiation was not an option. As soon as I come to terms with the higher price I'll contact them again to see what they can do to provide the detailed estimate that I need for my comfort factor... I also was required to pull the city permits for the electrical upgrade, which again makes me a little uncomfortable, but again I think I understand why, having earlier done the same thing for a heating furnace upgrade. If I do involve them with the work, I'l report subsequently on the work done.

+ -1 moreGood. Super fast. Honest. Unlike any other company I've ever worked with, they billed me less than the original quote. The job was a little smaller and eaiser than they thought, so they charged me less. No company does that, even honest ones.
Description of Work: In the middle of a large house exterior renovation, I found some wiring that needed to be done quickly, and the electrician I originally hired could not come right back. These guys came out immediately (they understood my urgency as walls would start going back up the next day). Moved some wiring to make sure they fed through the walls correctly.

+ -1 moreTenant who was on assisted housing was told her kitchen outlets weren't up to code and her assistance would be cancelled if not corrected in a very short period of time. As landlord it was needed for me to find someone who would do a small job in a short space of time for a reasonable price. Quick Electric came the same day that I called, finished the work in under an hour and only charged $140 for parts and labor. They repaired 2 outlets (one needing some wire damage repair as well as bringing up to code). And I was charged less than what was quoted over the phone. He was honest, he was more than fair, and they were fast.

The estimate was fulfilled as stated and the workmanship was absolutely professional. Great care was taken and the outdoor lighting was installed with better than expected attention to detail so it would satisfy our needs and compliment our new home.They were neat and professional in their personal appearance and took care to clean up all debris when finished, both indoors and out. I would definately hire them again and recommend them without reservation.

We talked to few electricians, but at the end we awarded the project to Quick Electric because of their price, availability and good reviews. Nick and his family were great. Once we nailed down on the detail contract, they came on time and finished the job on time. They also offered me a lot of valuable tips along the way. We reset the circuit breaker and with a voltmeter checked the outlets, but we could not fix the problem. Nicolae did a very good job of quickly detecting the problem; a different outlet had loose wires.

Description of Work: Started with upgrading to a 200 amp electrical panel and re-wiring a bedroom. We ended up doing a room addition and re-wired entire house, every electrical outlet and light switch. They added a sub-panel and installed recessed lighting throughout house. Installed ceiling and bathroom fans. They were great with changes and helping to decide best options for both placing switches and type of light switches.
