Description of Work: Quick Electric provided a whole house electrical inspection. They inspected the status of outlets, wiring, overhead lighting, smoke and CO detectors, and finally the main panel. They provided a written summary of items discovered during the inspection.

Description of Work: I came to know of Quick Electric from an Angies List $99 Whole House Electrical Inspection special. From the very first conversation with this company I could tell they were professional. I initially I communicated via e-mail to discuss an appointment. I neglected to call them to confirm an appointment we had on a Monday. On that Monday, after taking off work, I called to confirm the appointment for that morning. Of course they didn't have me down as having a confirmed appointment. I asked if they could possibly come out on a Saturday so I wouldn't have to take another day off of work. But of course they don't work on Saturdays. They made an exception in my case. They just traveled from Fremont to Crockett (a significant distance) on a dreary rainy day to do the whole house electrical inspection. They were so professional and informative. I would highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: I hired Quick Electric to install 40 retro fit LED lights. Nick's son was quite knowledgedable and efficient, and extremely professional. They were on time and answered all my questions and concerns in a timely fashion. They even inspected the wire connections throughout my home to make sure everything was up to code at no charge. The job was completed in just one day. The lights are a great edition to my home and I plan to have Quick Electric do all future work that I need to have done and I recently recommended them to several friends will full confidence . Description of Work: I purchased Angie's list for electrical inspection. It took a few months before an appointment was actually booked due to missed phone calls and unanswered emails. But they showed up on time and were very professional and provided suggestions and didn't try to sell me services I didn't need. I was so impressed with their overall honesty, expecially Nick's son who was wonderful, that I invited them to bid on a project I had wanted for some time. It involved installing recessed ceiling lights and a new ceiling fan in my living/dining room. There was no attic space and they had to cut holes in the ceiling and drill through beams to install wiring. The lights are fantastic! And they did a good job cleaning up. However I thought their price was a little steep for the work performed. Originally they bid the job as taking 2 days but they were able to finish in 1 day but I still had to pay the price for 2 days. I haven't ever paid for electrical work before so I had no point of reference. I would use them again only after receiving competitive bids. I definately would recommend them for their professionalism and attention to detail and they just impressed me as being honest and competent professionals. I just chalked up the extra cost as the price I paid to have such nice qualified guys working on my house. I trust them and I would not hesitate using them again for the right price.

My house was built in the '50s, and has had many "creatively handy" occupants since, so there was a lot to unravel. We ended with a summation, all in writing, and an estimate.

Description of Work: I got the recessed lighting deal and also the electric inspection deal. I have a large dark living room so Nick recommended two more lights than the 4 but was not pushy about it like some are. This cost me a bit extra but it was still a great deal and he was absolutely right that the living room was too large for only four. It is I also added LCD lights which they say last 22 years with 7 watts per so a total of 6 lights. What a HUGE difference in that dark room. It looks huge! Fast and efficient. It is a great way to update your room and it is now a cheerful not a depressing room! So happy about it. I would do it everywhere if I could! I decided to addmany fire detectors in both my home and an attached apt wired with back up battery with carbon monoxide detectors and put a deposit of 20% down ( the 1620.00 does not reflect the completed installation but does include the lighting and deposit). I felt it was a good idea because unlike the battery operated ones, Nick explained that if there is a fire in one room they are all connected and the alarm would go off in all the rooms. Someone on my street had their house burn down due to electrical issues so if I could have I would have also changed all the wiring circuits in my house but since it is an old house changing the outlet wires as well as cosmetic upgrade would have been too expensive for me, so this is my quick fix for my problem. I would not hesitate to hire them for a complete rewire when and if financial situation changes at a later date. In addition, they noticed that the air coming up from the heating vents/registers for the heater was very light. I had just had thick insulation installed on the ceiling and under the house but it was still really cold. Danny volunteered to check under the house and it turned out that all the registers had were broken and disconnected. He gave me a fair price for the job which took many hours. Even though there were more than he expected, the quote was honored. He fixed them for me and also noticed that there was a plumbing issue, corroded pipe with a hole in the pipe! I never would have known about this otherwise.Now while I could have had the home warranty company come in and do the vent repairs etc for a copay. I I would not have known how many vents were impacted since the house is a ranch style and includes an apt nor would have I know about the plumbing issue. This was separate from the Angie's list inspection and recessed lighting and he came the following day and did this plus changed my air filter in my heater that had been installed incorrectly. I called my home warranty company on Monday and on Tuesday they asked a great company called Superior Plumbing to come out and they removed 4 feet of corroded pipe and replaced it with steel galvanized pipe. So many had been under my house, including those that installed insulation and never mentioned the vents. So this was a great experience since I would not venture under the crawl space in my house. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AND WILL USE THEM AGAIN.

Description of Work: I had used Quick Electric once before (October 2011), as I'd purchased an Angie's List deal for installation of a ceiling fan. Even though the guy didn't bother to show up because he'd "forgotten" to write my appointment in the book, we rescheduled, and they came and did good work. So when I wanted to get an estimate for outdoor motion-sensing lights, they were the first company I called. I had to leave a message, and to this day--15 days later--STILL haven't received a return call. Needless to say, they're off my list forever, and I will never even consider using them again.

They hung the new fan. They had to put several pieces together including crystals. The need to change out the switch on the wall, because the remote was different than the existing one. They even went so far as to go to the hardware store and purchase a new switch cover, since the old one no longer fit.
