+ 1 moreIT WENT GREAT! Do yourself a favor, and call Henry Electric. Hands down, the best contractor we have had at the house (and we have had quite a few). Henry Electric provided exactly what we wanted, what we needed, plus the best possible customer service you could want. Even during the attic re-wiring, they found a few issues that where not known at the time and did not charge me, but they had the common courtesy to let me know what those other issues were they encountered. The re-wiring, repairs and the new generator ready service took two days to complete. My wife was extremely happy with their professionalism and I was glad to see that there are still people around that know the value of quality and customer service. I won't hesitate to call them back when the need arrives.
Description of Work: We had several issues with the home electrical, all from the previous owner. I knew there was a few issues with the home wiring, but the more time I spent in the attic, the worse it got. I did a lot of the work, but after a few repairs, and then uncovering issue after issue, it was time to call in the professionals. The previous owner had decided to leave all the wire splices exposed, in the ceiling's insulation. Also, there were several live wires, just sitting, exposed in the attic. I'm glad I didn;t grab one of them! Needless to say, that was just the beginning of my electrical woes. We needed to have several splices fixed in the attic. We had ceiling fans that needed to be re-wired as well. We had lights that where on a 3 way switch, but they were also tied into a celiing fam. So when you turned the lgiths on, it shut the ceiling fan off! We also had the worng size wiring going to bathroom vent fans. Obviously, electrical work was not the previous owners' string suit. For safety's sake, we needed to have all the electrical inspected and repaired. We also added an RV outlet on the far side of the house, and at the same time, we installed a new, generator ready service panel.

+ -1 moreOur oven failed and we bought a new one. When the installers arrived they informed us that there was insufficient power available. So we had Henry Electric run another 30 amp circuit. Our breaker box was full so they had to purchase and install an additional breaker box, run all necessary cables and connection boxes. When they were complete, all of the trash was picked up and the result was much better than what was originally installed in the house. They even volunteered to install the new oven so we could cook. Fantastic! Two generations of the Henry family showed up and did this difficult job with enthusiasm and great attitude. It was refreshing to joke with the father while he worked the job and it was obvious that he takes great delight in his work.
Description of Work: Installed an additional 4-wire 30 amp 220 van circuit to our kitchen to support a new oven. This required the installation of an additional breaker box for capacity.

+ -1 moreYou cannot go wrong with Henry Electric, as far as I'm concerned. Mr. Henry is a hoot! He comes out personally to give estimates and he doesn't try to sell you things that you don't need. He was prompt, professional, and he has a ton of wisdom. I also had work done by 2 of their employees who were both extremely polite, courteous, and prompt. I got into a jam several days after they were initially here and I called the office and they were back the next day to fix a problem I ran across. The price was less than 1/2 of what 2 other Angie's list providers wanted for exactly the same work. I was so happy with what was done that I brought them back a week later to fix some more items. They arrive when they say they will and they do things exactly how you want them done. Judy at the office is absolutely fantastic and Mr. Henry's son Scott was also very helpful in breaking down what needed to be done for safety versus what was more of a cosmetic issue. They are very up-to-date with the codes and applicable laws, and they are great at getting back to you quickly. Nicest people around!
Description of Work: I had a Federal Pacific breaker box replaced, about 12 odds and ends fixed that were unsafe according to a home inspection report, lights installed, hot water heater wired, outlets replaced/upgraded, etc.

Scott called me to tell me everything I needed to know about lightning and why I did not need to go to the expense of getting a lightning rod system installed that costs thousands of dollars. I made an appointment for them to come out and install a suppressor on the electical panel. Chuck came out to our house and installed it promptly. He was a wonderful man to talk to and to deal with. I want to especially thank Judy who answers the phones in the office. She is absolutely wonderful. A kind, considerate person who always returned my calls. I can't say enough good things about her. So kudos to you Judy and continued success with Charles Henry Electrical. We will never use anyone else for any electrical work that we need. These people are the BEST.
Description of Work: Outstanding service from Chuck who was very knowledgable about lightning. He was prompt, courteous, just a wonderful man to deal with. He installed a whole house suppressor to prevent damage to any household things should lightning strike nearby.

+ -1 moreMy dryer wasn't working and I determined that the 220 volt outlet wasn't working properly. I called Henry Electric and although they were fully booked, they squeezed me in at the end of the day. Paul came out and was able to fix the problem immediately. But more importantly, he found a serious problem with one of the other breakers in the box that could have caused an electrical fire. (He had me come and take a look and listen and it was really a scary sound - electrical arcing) He didn't have a replacement breaker on him, but he went out and bought one, came right back and fixed the problem. He also double checked that the power was properly going to the air handler that the breaker was associated with. All that for an incredibly reasonable price. Paul was professional, knowledgeable, and conscientious. I very highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Determined that a loose wire in the breaker box was causing the problem with my 220 volt outlet and refastened it properly.Tested to make sure that the 220 volt outlet was working properly, and that the dryer was functioning properly.Discovered a serious problem with another breaker that could have caused an electrical fire.Replaced the faulty breaker that was causing electrical arcing.Tested to see if the appliance that was connected to the faulty breaker was getting the proper power.

If that doesn't work, then call back and make an appointment. I understand exactly why they are so highly rated. Very pleasant and responsive on the phone. To offer a free solution rather than schedule an appointment is unheard of! I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them.

Shelby came out and performed the work, was professional, went ABOVE AND BEYOND, did additional work, all with a SMILE on his face. This company is awesome and was well worth the money spent. We have electricians for life!

+ -1 moreYou can't beat dealing with people like this. They were on time. Their work was top drawer. When working to install lighting fixtures on top of mirrors you always know there is a risk of cracking a mirror. What you don't know is whether the electrician you choose will stand behind their work if it happens. You don't have to worry with Henry's. This was a huge and costly mirror and they just stepped right up and said ... "stuff happens. we'll get it fixed" and then let us choose our own supplier and paid the bill. Great people.

+ 1 moreElectrician provided his own table to protect our DR table from damage, even though I had already placed towels on it. Placed a floor covering down on tiles to protect them from the work he did. His work was done in a very timely basis, he was very professional and we will definitely use Henry Electric for all future electrical needs. Price was reasonable for amount of work he ended up having to do.
Description of Work: Remove light, install proper ceiling fan bracket, install ceiling fan/chandilier, change out light switch in DR. Remove and install new GFI in bathroom.

I've used them a few times now and each time, they've been punctual, incredibly professional, solved the problem quickly and been really fairly priced. The other day, the power went out in the entire house and they were able to calmly guide me (over the phone and me in a panic!) on how to check the main breaker and get the power back on until they could get here. I recently moved to the area and Angie's List has really helped, so I wanted to make sure to add my ringing endorsement for Charles and Henry Electric!
Description of Work: Main breaker for the house tripped and lost power to the entire house. He quickly determined there was faulty wiring (completely corroded wires) in the septic tank motor and rewired them.

+ -1 moreWe were visiting our son who has a 1950's home with plumbing and eletrical issues. The lights upstairs would work only about half the time. He had received a bid from another electrician who said the upstairs needed complete rewiring. I called Henry Electric after seeing all the good reviews. We were going to have the upstairs rewired for him. Mr. Henry came, spent 2 hours; replaced some switches plus switched out 2 light fixtures. Instead of paying thousands of dollars as we expected to do, the bill was $135!!!! We will only use Henry Electric Company from now on. I wish we could take him to Arkansas where we live!
Description of Work: Henry Electric Company is amazing! They replaced 4 bad switches, took down 2 light fixtures and replaced them with 2 new ones and only charged $135. I will ONLY use Henry Electric Company in Orlando.

Description of Work: I placed a call to Henry Electric on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 8:50 a.m. requesting to have a ceiling fan installed in my home. I spoke with Judy, Office Manager, and she was extremely nice and scheduled an appointment for me on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. I received a call back from her on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 1:36 p.m. and communicated that an electrican could be there in the afternoon if that would work into my schedule. I said it did and an electrican called me at 2:34 p.m. and said he would be arriving in approximately 15 minutes. He arrived ten minutes later, introduced himself (Charles) took a look at what I needed installed and performed the task in 45 minutes.

+ -1 moreVery satisfied with the entire experience. At the last minute, I decided to install a water fountain and light fixture in the yard. Electricians and plumbers are a couple trades you need to have confidence in. Until this experience with Henry Electric, I did not have confidence in my previous electricians. They were either good, dependable, or reasonably priced. Never all three and seldom even two out of the three. Henry Electric responded promptly. Arrived on time as scheduled. Worked diligently. The job could have been done quicker, but they insisted (and they were right) the job be done properly, with nothing exposed. I took no issue with anything that was done. Two men, all day. Reasonable cost. Henry Electric is my electrician of choice. Unless it's an emergency, if they can't fit me in, I'll wait till they can. They are worth waiting for.

He was able to pinpoint the problem, explain it to me and proceeded to fix the problem I was having with the dryer circuit breaker flipping off every time I used the dryer. He also checked all of the outlets and answered all my questions about additional updates/changes I wanted to make. I will recommend him to my friends and family and will most definitely call him for my next electrical project. EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!

+ -1 moreCalled Henry Electric after reading reviews on Angie's list. Appointment was made for service and the electricians, Dave & Steven called ahead to confirm and then arrived on time. Both were extremely professional & polite while going about the task of identify the problem. ttey were very thorough and even took the time to tighten all of the connections in the panel even after determining that it was not the cause of the problem. Once they identified the issue they were able to resolve it in short order and had all of the necessary parts with them in the truck. They also performed some additional work that I requested once the issue had been identified. I would highly recommend Henry Electric and will be using them again shortly for some upgrade work that we discussed during this service call.
