They were very professional.

They did a very good job! I was very satisfied with their work. They were very straight forward with their price and very quick to get the job done. They were also very friendly.

The 5-man crew arrived on the scheduled day, and started right to work. I think much of my difficulty with the company had to do with poor communication between him and his work team (he was not present during the actual work). There were 3 main issues during and after the installation. 1.) Instead of accessing the location of the J-boxes through the attic, they cut a hole in the ceiling to access the locale. The crewman stated it was impossible to access the locale through the attic and although it would have been more difficult and time-consuming, I doubt that it was "impossible". BUT there was no excuse for them not to discuss it with me before they put a hole in my ceiling! 2). David and I had discussed in detail how the service would enter the house through the attic. (His willingness to keep the outside as neat as possible was one of the reasons that I hired him). Instead of following our plan, his men ran the electrical tube from the service, up and diagonally over 14 feet of wall! It looked obtrusive and horrible. At that point I called David and requested the work to stop because they were not following the plan that we had discussed. He said that the important thing was to get my electricity up and running and that they would resolve any issues later on. He stopped by the next morning and gave every reason he could think of as to why the tube could not be relocated. A smaller crew came that day and finished up the work. 3.) During the city's inspection, the inspector stated concern that the back sub-panel was not sufficient to handle the load. (The breakers had already tripped several times and the slims actually heat up when I dry lots of loads of laundry). The inspector looked at my contract and said that although he had concerns over the back panel, that DJ Electric had indeed fulfilled the items outlined in the contract.. I ended up having several other electricians come to give their input on the sub-panel. They all stated that the 40 amp wire running to that panel was not large enough for the amps used in the back part of the house. They also took one quick look at the tubing going alongside my house and stated that they should have taken the time to drill a hole in the attic close to where the service was and run the wires through that. Simple. Upon discussing all this with David, he conceded to re-routing the wires through the attic wall. In regards to the sub-panel, he suggested re-routing various large appliances directly to the main panel. Of course, he would charge me an additional $800 to a $1000 dollars. In short, after a month of excuses and issues concerning drilling a hole through the attic wall, his men FINALLY came out and re-did how the wires entered the attic. There was no charge for this, but I have yet to fix the sub-panel.
