AMI Air Conditioning

I highly recommend A.M.I. Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. My air conditioning stopped working. I called A.M.I approximately at 10:00a.m. I was informed by a very nice gentleman who answered my call (sorry I forgot his name) that a technician would be at my house between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. Steve, the technician, arrived around 3:00pm. He was very professional, polite, friendly and well informed. He checked the unit, drained the pipe, corrected the problem and adviced me on how to maintain the unit properly. Unfortunately, within hours the unit stopped working. The next day I called A.M.I. and explained the problem. I requested Steve. He arrived within one hour. Steve worked very hard and found the problem (a factory installed filter had not been removed when the unit was first installed by another company). It was not an easy job since the unit is located in the attic. The unit is now working beautifully. Thank you Steve.There was no charge for the second visit. From now on, A.M.I. is the only air conditioning company for me.

Toni, on the phone, was extremely nice, professional. She scheduled us in on a very busy day in the middle of a heat wave! The first technician that came out was not familiar with my A/C unit (heat pump), however a second technician came out within minutes and was highly knowledgeable. Cory diagnosed the problem, corrected it, and advised me how I could do some minor maintenance to keep my system running between checkups. Overall, a top notch organization.

I had to rent a crane so I spent about $6000. They were very professional, they were very punctual, I didn't really shop around so I don't know whether the price was the absolute best that we could have gotten but we were very satisfied with the unit they installed and what they recommended and we were satisfied with the job they did.

I called AMI as well as 2 other HVAC companies to get quotes to replace my failing air conditioner. Corey from AMI came by and provided a thorough quotation to replace my 4 ton package AC unit with a 16 SEER 4 ton Carrier package unit. They had to extend the existing concrete pad, which was attached to the foundation of the house. They also had to create a transition from over/under to side by side. The install went very smoothly, on time and on budget. The city inspector came after everything was complete and said that he was impressed with their work. Our new system looks great and works great. I recommend them to anyone in need of a new AC.

I called AMI for an estimate, Cory arrived on time and we discussed replacing my 15 year old home air conditioner that was terminal due to a freon leak. I was never pressured to purchase a new system from AMi. The decision to replace this unit, was mine. I had a few special requests for the new system, new box for the air handler, variable speed air handler, filter grill, slab, to name a few. My quote was tallied and we arrived at an acceptable price. The crew arrived on time on a terrible day, non stop rain. The install crew were always very nice, never complained or uttered a negative word, despite the poor working conditions. They worked the entire day, sometimes soaking wet, and turned out a really really nice installation. I truly believe that no other AC company could have done a better install than AMI. Even after living with the new AC for the last three weeks, and it performing flawlessly, I still walk into my laundry room to admire this well-done install. I would not hesitate to recommend AMI to my family, friends, neighbors...anyone. They are great to deal with and deliver as promised.

This is the second time I've used this company. I asked for service again because of my positive first experience with them. On the first service call the technician did a routine check of unit operation after fixing a electrical problem. He showed me that his gauges indicated that there was air in the system, caused by careless installation of the new unit in 2009. The technician merely provided me with his diagnosis, answered my questions, and did not pressure me into additional work. A later separate home inspection confirmed that the A/C, although operating, was not working efficiently. I called the company to remedy the problem 2 months after the original service. They sent the same technician as before who did the work competently. He also showed me where the original installer did not install a filter/drier in the system, as it should have been, and he installed this component as part of the service. Finally, he demonstrated the improved efficiency of the unit to me after the service was complete by comparing the new readings he showed me on his equipment with those recorded in the home inspection. My A/C is working great. Overall, I'm (again) very pleased with the prompt, courteous, and competent service of this company.

We had a leak inside the home, called them around 3:30 p.m, they had someone out at 4p.m. Very pleasant and knowledgeable technician. Answered all of our questions.

I called A.M.I. Air at 7:30AM in the morning as I wanted to deal with the problem of not having cool air during the summer as soon as possible. The customer rep was very friendly and assured me that they would have someone check out the problem around 11:00AM that same day. Sure enough, Steve (service technician) arrived at exactly 11:00AM. When does that happen? He was friendly and professional and quickly diagnosed the problem (compressor and needed Freon). Within the hour, the condenser unit was up and running and cool air was back running inside my condo unit. Steve worked very hard & fast under a hot Florida Sun. He was professional throughout and I gained a little knowledge for my experience. I have found my A/C service company in A.M.I. Air and would definitely endorse their services to family & friends.

I had made arrangements for the job to be done at my mothers house. They were thoroughly professional, polite, clean and trustworthy . Had a service contract with another company and their price was $500 more and didn't tell me of any promos or financing. My mother and I heard the tech say that there would be a $1000 rebate but it turned out to be $500. There is also a question of the permit which was included in the price. As of July 14 the AMI office had not applied for the permit and the job was done on May 27

Great. On time and gave me good advice. My unit is 12 years old. I was given a quote on a new system. I will certainly use AMI to install my new Unit in the near future.

I had the furnace and the air conditioner replaced with 2 new vents in the Florida room. I am very pleased with the experience. would definitely recommend. He explained all of my options including promos and financing

I called our usual A/C guy Friday night and sadly (unlike our past experience) got no help and were treated somewhat rudely. So I consulted Angie's list and found AMI. We called them around 8:30 PM and got a call back from Cory in less than 5 minutes. He was busy with another client and knew he wouldn't be able to get to us until Saturday morning, so he spent a few minutes talking to my husband and correctly diagnosed the problem. Fixed it ourselves with the tips he suggested! Cory was really terrific. Great customer service. AMI just won all our future A/C business and we will refer them to our friends and neighbors!

When I purchased my condo in FL, I was aware from the home inspection that the unit was aging and it would need service and or replacing at some point. I did some research for a company that could come out and evaluate the condition of the unit both inside and outside. I did see that there were quite a few companies listed that did the work, but there were issues afterwards. AMI had the reviews that I was looking for which made my decision to go with them. Adam showed up on time and was very pleasant to deal with. He looked professional and his actions and comments were professional as well. I of course had a lot of questions which Adam brought me though his response. Since I am in the Technical field, I understood all of the answers. Adam took care of the inside unit and then headed to the roof. After his inspection, he confirmed that in fact, the unit need to be replaced at some point in the future. When that times comes near the end of the year, I will be calling AMI and Adam to do this work. Nice Job !!!

Initial contact - the office was very pleasant and professional on the phone. She confirmed she could dispatch a technician the same day and estimated service between noon and 3:00 PM. Service - Adam arrived at 12:30 PM in a well marked company van and with a professional logo shirt. I explained the problem and what I had checked so far. Rather than starting again from scratch in his investigation, Adam instead went directly to where he thought the problem might be in the system based on the information I provided. His troubleshooting discovered a circuit breaker that had failed, which he quickly and efficiently corrected. He also did a running diagnostic on the system and suggested some additional work that I might want to have done in the future; he did not pressure me with additional work! The technician was professional, polite, and courteous at all times. Pricing - I like that pricing is based on flat rate work, rather than an hourly rate, which encourages the technician to quickly fix the problem rather than poke along to run up the charges. I think I was charged a fair price for quality work that corrected the problem the first time. All diagnostics and repairs were complete within an hour. I will definitely use this service again!

From start to finish, all the servicemen from AMI Air Conditioning were very professional. After we accepted the proposal, the work was arranged for the next week. They were on time and did the job in one day. It was a big job, and they were very pleasant and cleaned up after they installed the new rack and the unit. Because this unit was bigger than our old one, the wall rack needed extra bracing thru the wall. They even cleaned up inside the garage where they bolted the rack thru the wall. When the serviceman installed the thermostat, he said he thought it wasn't working as good as it could, so he came back the next day with a new one and changed it out. They did the paperwork for both discounts and gladly accepted our Angie's List coupon. My husband and I are very happy with our new Carrier package unit and were extremely pleased with the service we got. And today we got a surprise in the mail............. a can of gourmet cookies as a thank your from AMI Air Conditioning. The cookies and the A/C Company are the best! Thanks for making a major purchase a pleasant experience.

Super nice on the phone, guy was on time and very professional, ran a full leak check and found the problem that the previous a/c company had missed; came back a month later (for free) to make sure that we still had all the coolant and the problem had really been taken care of.

This job was a complete remodel of a 6500 ft home, which included HVAC engineering plans that went to tender to 4 A rated HVAC companies on Angies's List to bid. AMI was the only contractor to challenge the engineering plans. Corey came up with a new design which included exposed ductwork. AMI was the clear choice for my project. AMI was by far the best trade in the house. Corey and team (primarily Dan) are truly experts in their field. The quality of workmanship was second to none. The city inspector also praised AMI on the quality of work. The new system looks and works amazing. thank you AMI

I was extremely impressed with the service and the punctuality. I initlally had purchased the Big Deal for diagnostic analysis of my unit to see about the issues with my unit. I figured for the price, I would take the risk and see how I felt about whether they were a trustworthy company. Well, after the inspection I realized that not only did they know what they were doing,but felt totally comfortable in that they were not going to try to make me pay for something that was not worthy. Steve, our technician was extremely knowledgeable and did an amazing job. We had to reschedule an appointment for replacement of a part, and everything was done exactly on shedule. I will definitely be using this company for my future AC needs. They were fantastic!THANK YOU STEVE!

Home inspector indicated system needed to be cleaned. I very much appreciated the team at AMI saying given its age, the system probably did not need such an expensive procedure but they would do an annual tune-up and let me know if anything else was needed. Technician showed up on time, was very thorough, talked with me about the system and gave me a choice of adding freon or not but saying the system wouldn't work so hard if we did. Sure enough, he was right. System performed much better with the added freon. Expensive cleaning not needed. It's nice to have found a company I can trust to call upon when needed.

I was very happy with the work they did. They made it much easier for me to access the air filter to change it. The service was excellent.
