 + 0 moreWhen I called to make an appointment, I was given complete information about fees ( so there would be no surprises) and about the credentials of their electricians. Brian called before coming to the house and then showed up at the appointed time. He was knowledgeable, professional and friendly - and could work around two barking, curious dogs. He quickly and successfully fixed the problem. I would definitely use Theta Electric again.
Description of Work: Brian, the electrician, checked the lanai ceiling fan and a wall switch to determine why turning on the fan tripped the circuit off. He discovered a damaged wire and fixed it successfully.

I needed an electrician to cut larger hole in ceiling to install a round electrical outlet in the ceiling where I had the electrical wire in an inch round hole for the previous light. This was the required work. Gentlemen cleaned up.

 + 0 moreAfter I disputed the additional charges and refused to pay them the electrician left my residence. Shortly after he left I received a call from the Theta Electric Owner / Manager "Shawn / Sean" who asked what happened. I clearly and in detail explained the situation, he apologized and said that I should NOT have to pay the additional charges based on my description of the conditions and would have the man return to complete the work. About 3 minuets latter Sean / Shawn called back and said that the man had gone on to his NEXT assigned job and would not be returning and that I should request a Refund from Angie's List. Not only am I disappointed about Not getting the Light Fixture I wanted and Ordered and Paid for, I am Truely disappointed with the LOW Level of Quality and Customer treatment from this electrician. I do believe that the Owner / Manager did want to do the right thing and may well have done that but I expect that the man that came would not accept that he was wrong and be willing to apologize for his actions and cocky and negative attitude. While I may have and could have had other work preformed at a latter date, and would have recommended this Service Provider to other people in Dade City, that is certainly NOT going to happen now. I called Angie's List and described and explained the problem and my Dissatisfaction with this deal and the whole process. I waited a Month to be Blown Off by a unsatisfactory employee who did not follow directions or actually look at the proposed work location. I certainly would NOT Recommend this Provider again to anyone. S.J. Tarrant / Mr. T.
Description of Work: Nothing!! The deal was for (1) recessed light fixture installed in a accessible location in my kitchen ceiling within 5 feet of an existing light fixture. I requested they call 1/2 hr. before arrival to make sure I would be home. This service was scheduled for 05/05/2016 (PM) and canceled by the contractor (employee out sick) reset for 05/12/2016 (PM) and canceled for the same reason, again reset for 05/26/2016 (2 to 4 PM) *Today* The Electrician arrived at my home at 11:40 AM with no call. (I was 10 miles away at that time) my Fiancee was home and responded to the electrician, he walked in, took a very brief look at the celling in the kitchen area and immediately said the installation was going cost between $266.00 and $566.00 plus tax. (She called me back with the Up Charges "ONE" Minuet after she called and told me he had arrived. I told her to have him wait until I returned (15 minuets later) When I got there and spoke to the man, he said that any wiring (less than 5 feet) would be an additional charge as well as an EXTRA charge for not being able to access the overhead and the wiring and location for the requested light fixture. There is Easy Access to the overhead crawl space (I built this house 8 yrs. ago, it is a wood frame home with a Trussed roof and R-30 Insulation between the roof stringers, there is at least 30 inches of space above the location of the requested light fixture location and again (LESS) that 5 feet from the existing celling fixture location. All of this is aprox. 15 feet from the access door in the celling and there is nothing stored up there (there are Flexible A/C Ducts up there) The electrician NEVER opened the door to the overhead area and looked up in there.

 + 0 moreI bought the deal for $89 to install a ceiling fan. The electrician arrived on time and was very polite and professional. I was told right before he was about to get started that I would have to pay an additional $89 to have the fan installed because the had to put in a new box to support the fan. I reviewed the deal and it was not stated that this was not covered under the deal. I felt taken advantage of and I wan't left with much of a choice except to pay double than what i expected to pay. I did get a call from them and they were unwilling to work with me on the price. BEWARE of the deal because how it should read is that they will replace an existing fan for $89. Any other installion will require more money. The fan was installed nicely and is working fine but I will not use Theta again because I feel that this was a deceptive add and the install cost me twice as much as I thought it would. There are plenty of other electrician to try out.

 + 0 moreWe have used Theta Electric twice and have been very happy with the work both times. We initially picked Theta Electric from an Angie's list offer to mount an external power outlet for $99. Calling and setting up the service call was incredibly pleasant and the electrician, Josh, was able to come out quickly. Josh was very professional and polite, listened to my proposal for the outlet, evaluated our (1951) home's electrical status and then made his own suggestions based on our needs. I'm glad he did because he advised me our home, which we had just purchased, did not have a 'whole-home' surge protector. He then completed the job quickly and neatly - even sweeping up after himself. We liked the first interaction so much that we scheduled another service call, requesting Josh again, to install a second receptacle for new tankless water heater. After explaining my needs, Josh once again suggested a better approach that both saved me money and leveraged an existing, unused power outlet. As with the first visit, the upgrade was handled efficiently and quickly with no issues. I am happy that I found Theta Electric and am sure we will continue to use them as we remodel our home.

 + 0 moreThe electrician was on time and very professional. Before he began the job, he communicated exactly what he was going to do and asked me if I had any questions. He also asked me if I was ok with the location of the lights that he measured (standard measurements for my living room) or if I wanted to change the location of the recessed lights to my liking. His measurements were perfect so I didn't change a thing. He used covers on the floor to catch the dust and debris from the cuts in the ceiling (for the recessed canister). He was very good and before I knew it he was done. The lights look great! The company called me after the work was done to make sure I was happy and that everything went ok with the work. Overall, I was very happy with everything.
