The process went very smooth. The service techs arrived on time and installed the unit without any problems. They were there the entire day 830 - 6. They cleaned up the mess that was made in the process and took the time to train us on the new thermostat as well. We received follow up calls to ensure that we were happy with the unit and that everything was going well with it. I appreciate good customer service and ECM provided that.

They are a service maintenance company. They take care of the utilities that I have in the house. If something breaks, like my washing machine, I give them a call or my plumbing I give them a call. If I have electrical problems, I give them a call. They are located in several places. They put in my new air conditioner. It didn't cost me anything but for the year, that cost me about $300. They can't always get here at the time I need them. I may have to wait a day or so. They are on time, when they say they'll be here at a certain time, they'll be here and if they are not, they call to let me know they are running late. I have been using them for several years now.
Description of Work: That was plumbing. They fixed my toilet. I needed new insides in the tank.

Our experience started very well with the information from their salesman Miquel.He was only the second ac company representative we saw, he was so good we signed an agreement with him the same day. We got a call from customer service to verify the installation date and time.The electrician was the first to arrive and went to work right away.Within a matter of minutes the installers arrived.They explained what they had to do and that it would take until about 6:00 pm.They worked cleanly,politely and efficiently.Any question we had was answered without a problem. When they finished working the only items to see was our new ac system. Customer service has called a few times to if we were satisfied.Looking forward to years of good service.

Tech Luis arrived on time. He was here to do an AC checkup within our contract year. This is our 4th contract with this ECM. Luis got to work immediately and notified us that upon inspecting our AC coils there was quite abit of mold on them. Actually an amazing amount of mold since the unit was cleaned last April. I decided to get the paperwork out from the last 2 years when the unit was cleaned, mold was never noted by any of the techs. Our choices, we could get the coils cleaned properly for approx $500.00 or install a UV Light inside the unit to control the mold at a cost of $795.00. Both choices quite pricey, but when dealing with mold issues what does one do? It is quite obvious after checking prices, the UV light unit does not cost anywhere near the price charged. We went with the UV light, hoping that it will work. My only issue is that we have a contract with this company; you would think that there would be some type of discount for contract customers. I know for a fact that on my AC/Furnace contract with my NJ company contractual customers get a break on the pricing. The tech Luis was super and I certainly would ask for him again. He did a thorough job inspecting all the equipment.

The toilet in the guest bathroom was running so I called ECM because small plumbing fixes are in my contract. The plumber came on schedule but had to turn off the water to the toilet to replace the parts. The shutoff valve wouldn't close completely so he had to shut off the house water to continue. I showed him where the valve was outside and he used it, complimenting me on the fact that I had obviously had that replaced recently with an excellent, easy-to-use valve. He then went inside and completed the repair neatly. No charge. I decided, after speaking to my husband, to have the toilet valve replaced so I called ECM again and they set up an appointment. The appointment process both times was quick and easy. They told me that there would be a $75 charge. The appointment was at my earliest convenience and was on time, quick, neat and professional.

It was excellent and he went the extra step to check my ice maker. I thought it was not working but a small piece of ice was blocking which caused the water not to feed.In addition he explained blinking red light is good and means everything fine . Within 7 hours his assuance to me made me feel more confident and i had ice.

The a/c tech did a great job, professional and knowledgeable, and friendly. We have been using ECM for 12 years for various repairs and to install our a/c about a year ago. They did a great job on that. We now have an annual service contract with them for mechanical repairs. They have improved drastically over the last two years with service and friendly knowledgeable techs, great customer service on the phones.

I had a problem with the HVAC in a home I recently purchased and purchased a Home Warranty from East Coast Mechanical after reading positive reviews on Angie's List. I was given a window of 2-6PM, at 5:45 I called and was told the tech would be there in 15 minutes, he eventually showed up at 6:20PM. After looking at my unit for 2 minutes, he said the drain line was plugged and water was in the shutoff valve so the system would continuously shutdown and it either needed to be taken completely apart and cleaned (not covered, according to him, under the Warranty plan) at a cost of $600. He said there was no guarantee that would work so said the best idea was to replace the central unit at a cost of $3000 but with special zero interest financing for 12 months. I initially agreed to the replacement and signed the agreement with a 3 day termination clause. After thinking about it I decided to cancel the contract and have another contractor look at my system. I really felt pressure to make a purchase decision and it seemed like my home warranty was worthless, there was no attempt by the technician to find a solution that would keep the unit running (it cools well when it runs) instead of a replacement. I called ECM this morning to get an explanation of why this wasn't covered under the warranty and all I got was 'all of our technicians are on the phone, someone will call you back within an hour'. I then asked how to cancel the home warranty and was given an email address and cancelled. They may do good work (or they may not) but the way this was handled is unacceptable to me and I would not recommend them to anyone. The next day I called another HVAC contractor (referral from a friend), he came out within a couple of hours, cleaned out the drain line in a few minutes, and didn't recommend anything else at this time. I am now convinced that the East Coast Mechanical representative only wanted to sell me a new air conditioner and had no interest in doing any repair. UPDATE on 2/6/16: I notice the company has written a response, it is a complete fabrication. I had a home warranty with them, all their technician told me was that it would be a $600 cost to clear it out or replace the unit. There was not a single mention of anything else. Since having a very simple procedure done on my air conditioning the following day my air conditioning has performed perfectly so still believe I was being pressured into needlessly spending money to either have it taken apart and cleaned out (I was told it was a 4 hour procedure) or replaced.

This may sometimes cause our Technicians to run behind schedule but we will never leave a customer stranded. This brings us to your comments regarding the service call to your Air Conditioner. We reviewed the signed invoice that reads, "Found drain pan clogged. Gave option to remove and clear or replace unit." As a point of clarification, when a customer has an older inefficient Air Conditioner, we believe it is our responsibility to share the benefits that a new Air Conditioner can provide. As a leader in air conditioning service, repair and installations for over 27 years, we take this responsibility very seriously. Even if your current air conditioning system is still operational, upgrading to a new high performance, high efficiency system has the potential to transform the way you cool your home, delivering improved energy efficiency and improved air quality and comfort, plus tons of other benefits. Nevertheless, it remains ultimately the customer's decision on how to proceed with the information provided. In this case, you decided to keep your existing Air Conditioner and this certainly was your perogative. We are sorry that you took our good intentions negatively.

Both repair technicians were timely, friendly, accommodating, and highly experienced. ECM?s general staff is continually ready to assist its longstanding customers and provide them with the best possible consumer service. ECM is a reputable and dependable company that can fulfill product, maintenance, and repair requirements to the maximum degree. Compared to similar companies, ECM is by far the best there is! I had a technician from ECM come out on Tuesday, Oct. 28th to do a routine tune up on the a/c unit in my Florida condo.. After his inspection, the technician explained that the outside part of my system needed some new parts due to the unit being approximately 12 years old. This repair would cost about $1200.00. After a further discussion with the technician, I decided to replace the whole unit rather than spent that much money on a bandaid repair. The technician called his office and came back to me quickly with all the information about the unit replacement including the cost. Two days later the installers showed up at my house right on time, they did the work professionally, neatly and were as courteous as anyone could ever expect. The entire job was completed in approximately 6 hours. The job was done beautifully, everything works great and I'm totally satisfied with ECM and will definately use their services in the future should I need them.

An ECM tech did an annual HVAC service and I had two huge issues. First the tech told me that certain work was not included given the amount I was paying. After the visit I checked with ECM Management and found out he was lying so they sent another tech to do the work which was skipped and he did find problems which had to be corrected. Second problem with the original lying tech....a week after the service one of my AC units stopped working. So I had to pay ECM more money to come back and this tech said there was a leak in the outside coil which required a new coil for $1300 since my contract did not cover this...or , since the system was ten years old he suggested a new system for $4500. The entire event is very suspicious and it is very possible the lying tech damaged my system so ECM would get a big job at my home. I had another HVAC vendor look at the system and they said it was impossible to verify the cause and source of the freon leak because of its location. They also gave me a lower bid for the new system which I had them install. So, the ECM warranty was worthless...one ECM tech was a liar....and ECM MAY have damaged my system to get a bigger job, but I cannot prove this because of the location of the leak. But it is very suspicious that the system lost ALL freon just one week after the lying tech serviced it. Be careful with this company.

We were surprised to read this review and have researched the matter to uncover what exactly transpired. As a result, we learned [Member Name Removed] was able to take advantage of a current ECM promotion, whereby ECM completed a thorough 21-pt tune up for only $49.95 (regularly $79.95) on each of his three (3) Air Conditioners. The Tune Ups were completed on September 3, 2015. On September 10, 2015, almost two (2) weeks later, the customer telephoned to report one of the three (3) Air Conditioners in his home was not cooling. A Technician was dispatched and uncovered a leak to the section of the suction line that is located “under” the Condenser Coil inside the outside condenser cabinet. As a result, the Technician advised the customer he would need a new Condenser Coil. The customer paid a $45 deductible charge for the service call and was given a price for both a new Condenser Coil and a price for a new Air Conditioner, should he decide to replace the entire unit. In addition, we learned that the customer also telephoned our Customer Care Department to voice his dissatisfaction with the completed tune-ups to his three Air Conditioners. Although the customer signed all three tickets under “Work completed to my satisfaction. Accept recommended work,” we sent a 3rd Technician to the home to again complete the Tune-up to the three AC units. This was done as a gesture of good will, as it was clear to us that the first Technician not only completed the original tune ups, but was at the customer’s home for almost 2 hours during the process. This brings us to the customer’s “accusations.” Please be assured that we take offense to the customer loosely accusing our Technician of causing any problems with one of the Air Conditioners. As a leader in air conditioning service, repair and installations for more than 27 years, we take this responsibility very seriously. We would hope that anyone that reads this response can clearly see that this certainly was not the case. ECM completed three tune ups at a discounted rate. Found a leak in a location that is under a coil. Advised the customer the charge for a repair. Returned to again complete the three tune-ups, at no charge, and as a courtesy to the customer. Unfortunately, our attempts to satisfy this customer was to no avail. Nevertheless, we appreciate the opportunity we have been given to respond and to report the results of our investigation into this matter, as our reputation is very important to us.

Technician was on time and represented ECM extremely well, did not rush thru the job took his time and fixed it properly, I know I was his last call of the day and never once felt he was justed to get home, explained ways of keeping this from happening again and always explained why it did happen......GREAT SERVICE ECM is the best and I have had a contract with them for many years, they are friendly, reliable and their staff have the best skill sets for whatever needs to be repaired...I always think "it's okay I have ECM just a phone call away

The job took the entire day. The 2 technicians arrived at 815 am and worked all day in 90 degree heat. They finished at 6pm. They did a wonderful job! They were professional and kept the house clean. The price was more than fair. I was afraid I was being scammed in the beginning because of stories I had heard, but my old unit was full of mild and rusted. It was definitely a job well done.
Description of Work: Replaced Air conditioning unit in my house, replaced air handler and condenser in our attic. Repaired duct work, replaced water pan, replaced and rewired outside electrical box.
