This company was super responsive and worked us in within a day. We do have a contract with them on a yearly basis - the tech was helpful and honest. I do wish there was more of a discount since we are “members” and our service need was quick and “easy” to fix. The issue was a busted fuse and the cost seemed a bit high for such a quick fix. over all great company.

AC stopped working. As a military member who is deployed, I knew I could trust Polar Bear to come in and quickly fix the problem while I was away.

Alex is personable, courteous and efficient. He’s serviced my heating and a/c for several years now and I’m very pleased with his work. He cleans up after completing the job and leaves the area neat, taking the old filters with him when he leaves.

They installed a new boiler and central air conditioning in my DC rowhome and did a fantastic job. Joe answered all of my questions and they stayed on schedule with the project which was great because it was a larger project. I had a 20+ year old air conditioning system and didn't want to nurse it through another summer season so I started looking for a replacement during the very polar cold month of February 2019. Of the three bids I received, I was most impressed with Polar Bear Air Conditioning & Heating Inc's responsiveness, professionalism and price. Three days after I signed a contract, Team Polar was at my house at 8:30 am and by 1:00 pm I had a new air conditioning system! The team worked fast, was pleasant, provided updates and handled the one problem encountered, the condenser wouldn't fit through the front door of my old DC townhouse, with grace and humor as they hauled it around the block and in through the back walkway. Tech found a dirty sensor that was causing the furnace to shut off and on thereby causing too much cold air to build up in ducts. Too early to tell how much improvement as no really cold days following the fix.

The technician identified the issue and there is a temporary fix until it can be permanently repaired.

Technician arrived and promptly diagnosed an issue with pressure switch. He reset my unit to get it running again and left, in a hurry. $69 for a 10-15 minute visit. Only thing is, once he left, the unit stopped again and I had to call to have him come back. Looking closer, he diagnosed a bigger problem (electrical board) and had to order the item. We paid for rush delivery and waited for him all day the next day, only to find out late that it would be delayed an extra day. Eventually the part arrived and the repair was made in a matter of minutes.

They diagnosed the problem and identified a low cost issue, not trying to up-charge.

Angel arrived right on time and was quick to figure out the problem with the thermostat. He made the repair in just a few minutes and was on his way. I appreciate the ease of scheduling an appointment. It's nice to have a technician show up when expected and do the job well!

The technician was very nice, but was unprepared to service my HVAC unit. Simply sprayed a chemical cleaning agent on the units coils and hosed down the outside unit. Did not actually clean / service the unit as requested and when I brought this up to him, claimed that the dispatches didnt leave him enough time to actually do the job and that I would have to make another appointment. Needless to say since the only reason I called was for them to come clean the unit am very disappointed. Recommend using someone else.

The whole experience was good. Sherry was great to work with to set up an time for someone to come out. She knew that I need something quickly and was able to help out. Alex the tech was wonderful to work with. He made sure everything was done right and showed pride and care in the work he did. The customer service and work done was great.

Great! Polar Bear provided a clear and complete proposal and responded promptly to my questions about it. The company arranged to perform the work around my retail tenant’s schedule. The technicians did the work well, on time, and carefully They were extremely courteous and took great pains not to disturb the displays of the tenant as they walked through the store. You can tell that he truly cares about his clients and his team and that's what makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE because they all go above and beyond to actually meet your needs rather than just trying to sell you on some high-end unit. We feel very lucky and thankful that we came across Joe and his team two years when one of our furnaces died during the middle of a horrible snowstorm. We had several companies try to overcharge us and up-sell us on more expensive units than we needed. Thankfully, Joe came out and provided us with an honest assessment of our needs and options and gave us an incredibly fair quote. His team installed the new furnace the next day! Since then, we've gone back to Polar Bear to replace our second furnace and both of our AC units (all were 15+ years old). Each and every time, Joe gave us an honest assessment, a fair quote, and his team always comes in and gets the job done without leaving a trace (even in the middle of a snow storm and the pouring rain, they even brought their own shoe covers). They are always considerate and stand by their work! A huge shout out to Edwin, Rodolfo, John, Angel, and the rest of the team for such amazing work. Our only wish is that Polar Bear provided other home services because it's difficult to find such trustworthy companies/contractors in DC. We will always use Polar Bear for our HVAC needs and would highly recommend them for yours, too!

Polar was prompt, professional, and great walking me through options. I only have a B on quality and price because I don't know how they compare to other companies.

Alex quickly diagnosed the problem (after another company had failed to do so), worked to identify the proper thermostat and returned to install replacement. He did a great job.

First, Angel changed the power switch and the inductor but the furnace only worked for three more days. I chose to get a new manufacturers power switch and an induction motor and the furnace has been running great ever since. Alex worked with me and gave me a number of options to consider rather than the most expensive.

Great - did a wonderful job - professional - cleaned up - heating and a/c functioning very well

It went extremely smoothly. I was getting my roof replaced at the same time, and Joe and co. were extremely flexible with my schedule. They worked with the roofers to ensure that the penetrations in the roof were well installed, preserving the roof warranty. They installed a roof unit on steel beams as well as running ducting for above grade floors of the house. Working around the roofers they were still done in a couple days.
