Description of Work: We hired HD Johnson for a big furnace job (we converted from oil to gas, new furnace and removal of our old furnace/oil tank). They sent only two guys for the whole job. They subcontracted and sub-sub contracted the work. Oil was spilt in our basement, ruining our rug and destroying kids' toys. When bleeding the upstairs radiator, water leaked out, leaving a huge water mark on our upstairs rug. They replaced our digital thermostat with a old 1970's manual one. And water pipes from the former oil tank area fell when I was cleaning up the mess. The pipes obviously had been destablized from the work. On top of it all, they have just sent a bill for the "emergency pipe work"...over $300. We spent $10k on this project. They did not reimburse us for the rugs or oil spill mess (rather, they said we needed TP deal with the oil tank removal company...who they hired!) and they want us to pay for the digital thermostat (which is similar to the one we had before this whole mess!). Needless to say, we will never use them again, and do not recommend to anyone...unless you want to spend months dealing with them and their sloppy work.

Description of Work: I have used HD Johnson to both install central air in one house and to service two rental houses in Georgetown. They did an outstanding job on the AC installation, its been 9 years since they did it and its still going strong. They have also been extremely helpful in servicing and repairing another AC system that they did not install. They have also serviced the gas furnaces in both houses for me and done a good job. Will continue to use them.

Description of Work: We used HD Johnson on two occasions. First, our forced air furnace stopped working and they came promptly and fixed a cracked pipe that was allowing water to pool at the bottom of the furnace. On a second occasion, our furnace again stopped and they replaced the motor within 36 hours of our call.

They told me it was already off the shelf and at someone else's home. I called another company and they replaced it when they were here. I wish H D Johnson had done it in the first place. This is the first problem we've had with this company; usually they're pretty good.
Description of Work: They took the faucet apart, but they didn't have the correct piece. He jerry-rigged it and said he'd be back the next week.

Description of Work: Removed old plumbing from our 100+ year old row house. Installed plumbing for a rental unit in in our basement. Also installed plumbing for a new powder room on our first floor as well as new kitchen plumbing. New plumbing in second floor bathroom, too.
