The estimate they wrote was way over the top on many really easy items and super low on the important one (tile, carpet and drywall) They initially said the upgrades I wanted to do would be fine and that I could do much of the work myself. As soon as the check came in, they insisted I could not do ANY of the work myself, even as a licensed contractor and with the blessing of the insurance and mortgage companies. Even work that was adjacent to the repair they insisted on doing. This 12 weeks after the date of loss and on the day they were supposed to send a contract. I had spoken in person and in my house with two project managers and the estimator, all of whom agreed that it would not be a problem for me to do some of the work as well as the upgrades I wanted to install, on my own. Guess they figured after making me wait so long and knowing that the check had just come in that they could strongarm me into a agreement the benefitted only them. Maybe they forgot who owns the house. Will never work with or recommend them to anyone.

Was connected to this company through Insurance Co referral service.  They came out quickly, but that is where my satisfaction  ended.  The person they had install the tarp stated directly to me that he was not a roof expert,  He made a valiant attempt to protect the attic from taking on more water by putting the tarp over the dormer, but the next day, it rained again with no difference being seen.  They sent him out again, and all he did was put a second tarp over the first one, slightly past where the first tarp ended, even though I had suggested that the entire side of the roof, including the dormer be tarped.  Just as I would have guessed, water still came in through the roof deck outside of the tarped area.  I admit I didn't call them back again, but the service to date left me uneasy with the prospect of more money and lost time at work being spent with no resolve.  The first visit cost $473.00 and the second visit cost $250.00.  Although covered by insurance, I do not feel they gave appropriate protection/remediation service.  I would hesitate recommending them to someone for remediation.
Also important to note is that I had asked them if they do ALL repair work both inside and out, I never heard from anyone about them being able/willing to provide this service.  I guess they wait for you to ask formally in writing.

We had water damage last winter and I hired another person from Angie's List but they were absolutely horrible.  I ended up dumping them and calling Paul Davis Restoration.  They could be coming back to finish the downstairs as well. The work is still in progress because there is more damage downstairs and I'm dealing with the insurance company.  The original estimate was for $15000.  They were excellent.  Their price was better than the other company.

During the October 2011 snowstorm, we lost power for 6 days.  During that time, water accumulated in our basement since the sump pump was not working.  My insurance company coordinated the restoration service with Paul Davis so the expense was paid directly by the insurance company.  Paul Davis arrived promptly when promised with a crew ready to begin the demo process.  The team removed the saturated carpet and pad and determined that the bottom 2 feet of drywall and insulation would also need to be removed.  They removed all quickly and efficiently and cleaned the area prior to leaving.  The team set up 8 commercial fans and 2 dehumidifiers to remove moisture.  A technician scheduled a time to check the progress each day and arrived at the designated time and completed his testing quickly and efficiently.  The equipment was removed only after testing indicated the basement was completely dry.  These guys were professional and courteous every step of the way.

Complete job quoted to three contractors in Feb/March 2011. The contractor we picked was not the lowest bid but was on the preferred list of our home insurance company. We assumed this meant they had been vetted.

Took a long time to get started. For relatively straight-forward repair/remove/replace requirements, work stopped and started many times, over periods of many weeks. Initial work in two rooms had to be redone because of poor workmanship and peeling paint after only a few weeks. Complete initial job work scope proposal never completed. Finally hired someone else to remove and replace tile floor in kitchen.

On April 5th I emailed the latest list of unfinished items and the was the list. 1 dishwasher needs to be hooked up.  2. base board electric heater lower to the floor/ base board and hook up the power to it.  3.drain in bathroom sink will not close.  4. No toilet paper holder and two towel racks need to be replaced.  5. Replace shelf in front closet.  6. Fix squeaking laminated floor by back door.  7. Fix molding at base of stairs. 8. Replace four door stops.  9. Sub floor and laminate floor in water heater closet.  10. White electric outlet cover by front door.  Now it's April 21st and I'm still waiting for them to complete the work.  They did hook up the electric to the dishwasher but not the water.  The floor still squeaks but they claim they be back to fix every thing and that was two weeks ago.  Very un professional Manager Tom and I would never use them again.
